    The Chili AK Salmon Bowl
    Marc H.

Stopped in for lunch between our cruise drop off and flight departure. The place was hopping on a Monday afternoon (Memorial Day). It was "seat yourself," and we found a two top. The servers seemed a little new, but the service was good and friendly. They carry Frontier brand sodas which we found to be excellent for their flavor. We got root beer and ripe raspberry soda. I ordered the Chili AK Salmon Bowl which our server confirmed is wild salmon. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries. Both meals were really good. I especially liked the sauce on the salmon bowl so much so that I asked for a little more only to be charged for the extra sauce. I also noticed they include a service charge on the bill (note that this was not gratuity). They told us it was to help them get seasonal labor and to cover overhead. Maybe this is an Alaska thing, but with menu prices as high as these, why would you need to add a service charge? Pricing and nickel & diming aside, I would recommend this place.

Food and services are excellent. Love the Yak burger, very delicious. King Salmon was very tender and tasty too.

In Anchorage for my baby daddy's work trip and was craving fish and chips. I saw all the good ratings on here and wasn't expecting to experience such horrible service. Right when we entered it was a question of whether we would like to sit upstairs or if you chose to sit downstairs it was first come first serve with any empty table you find. The hostess was very adamant with telling us if we chose to sit at the long wooden table downstairs that we must sit at only the ends of the table. Weird but ok...considering the long table was completely empty during our entire visit. So we sat down and never saw a server come to our table. My baby daddy went to tell someone that we were ready to order and they said they would find our server. When our server came to us, his name was Ryan. He couldn't look me in the eyes and you could tell he was annoyed that he had to work. Never asked us if we wanted anything to drink. He also messed up a small modification in our order and when my baby daddy asked about it he was mumbling things and walked away. He was definitely a little off to me or maybe just hates his job? The fish and chips were decent. They came out warm not hot which is a first for me with fish and chips. The fries were bland and a little limp lol. The sauces with the fish and chips were good. The batter wasn't as crispy as I hoped. Oh and they didn't give me my side of coleslaw that was supposed to come with my meal but I didn't realize it until later. Anyways, the service really left a bad taste in my mouth...will never return nor recommend, not that they care anyways! Lol

The beer was good. I ordered the nitro stout which was very good. For dinner I ordered the Parmesan crusted halibut served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. I would have preferred grilled or blacked halibut but it was still pretty good.

One of my favorite stops in Alaska. The beer was excellent. The pretzel was huge! Service from Carlos and Abby behind the bar was great. I loved the vibe and wish I was in the area for a longer period of time.

Best restaurant we ate at on our Alaska trip per my husband, and I concur! A little bit of a wait for the second floor seating, but we chose the first come first serve option for the first floor seating. We ordered the crab grilled cheese, yak burger and a classic flight of beer. All of them were delicious. The fries that came with both entrees were tasty and so was the chowder that came with the grilled cheese. Wanted to get the bread pudding but was far too full. 66 dollars for our meal, pre tip- which is reasonable price considering Alaskan standards.

Came in just for snacks and to try their beer. Great stuff all around! Food was good as was the beer. Lots of seating everywhere. Three big screens that I remember, all playing sports. It's a good time here!

Stopped in for fish & chips and local beer. I'm so glad I did! I had halibut, and it was excellent. Light, crispy batter, and tender fish with no fishy taste! I'm glad that they had beer flights because I was unable to decide what kind I wanted. With some assistance from the bartender I chose 4 beers and every single one of them was wonderful. I would absolutely go back if I'm ever in Anchorage again. It does get a little bit loud and it gets very crowded so be prepared to either wait, or sit at the bar. It is open seating, you check in at the host stand and they'll give you a menu and you just find a place to sit. All in all it was a wonderful time and the food was great. I don't like fish, so for me to say that, you know it was good!

The food was awesome and the place is decorated nicely. The service could have been a little better due to the fact it took forever for the server to bring our to go containers. I will say their Wedge salad was pretty darn tasty. Their sandwiches come with fries but you don't get a bunch of fries. One of our guys has the salad and to add a skewer of steak the cost was $19 which I thought was rather steep. Overall the food was really good, I would definitely come back. For me a burger or sandwich would be for 2 meals. I did get the steak sandwich and that was really tasty.

While in Anchorage, we wanted to taste the fresh fish we kept hearing about. Our entrees were super delicious and fresh. We split the smoked salmon and also the fish and chips and really enjoyed them. The craft beer paired perfectly with our meal. The servers work well as a team and our orders were quick and easy. The atmosphere in the bar is a little rustic and almost felt like a lodge. I would recommend this place if you're downtown.

Fun and lively place. They said 1 hr wait. Had halibut fish n chips and it was good. Very crowded and many young people. It's one of the few places near the hotel. Things close early here. Not much to do after 7 or 8 pm. $30+ meal.

Wayyyyy too slow at the front to handle the summer crowds. Mediocre beer and food but the view brings the crowds.

Unfortunately, they do not offer beer flights, so Colby created his own half-glass sampler, which did the trick. The brewery itself was pretty neat, with large beer barrels incorporated into the décor, including one that guests can actually sit in. Their beer selection was on the smaller side, but we felt the prices were fair. I ordered the Blind Berry Cider, which had a pleasantly tart flavor, though it leaned toward the extra sour side. We thought this spot was great for Instagram photos and a worthwhile stop if you have some extra time while you're in town. Overall, it was okay. I do wish we had known about the outdoor seating options beforehand, as we found the indoor seating area to be somewhat limited. The glassware was pretty cool as well, with several different sizes available. The bathrooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return if we find ourselves back in town again.

In fact Alaska in general thus far I have enjoyed the breweries there considerably. The beer I had from this brewery was the Panty Peeler which is a Belgian Tripel. A good beer for sure and is a good pairing with fish and chips or a burger. Flavor highlights with this beer are sweet, strong and fruity but all in a well balanced way. The beer goes down smooth and is light bodied. A good beer to start for me with this brewery. I'd loved to try more of their beer options. They kept not coming up in the IG search results...weird. I initially was worried they went out of business because it said their IG page was down. I warned the birthday girl that maybe that had suddenly closed and joked "unless I'm blocked, lol" to which she replied "they blocked you!" So weird and so sad. Never in my 267 brewery reviews on Yelp has a brewery blocked me from their IG. (that I know of, lol) My only interactions with them on IG are to re-share their reels so my friends know what beers they have on tap or what food truck is out front. I guess if I had to guess it would be that my 3-star review about their being the only brewery in Anchorage that doesn't allow you to taste their beer first must've struck such a nerve that they researched to find what IG account is connected to my Yelp account, and then blocked me. Really disappointing, I always thought the owner/brewer seemed cool but I guess he has thin skin. Their Anchorage-style Pilsner is still one of the best beers in town, hopefully I'll get a pint tonight. Last night I had a west coast IPA and a Cold IPA. Both were good. The fact that you have 3 different IPAs on tap combined with a 3 drink limit by the state of Alaska...really speaks to why tastes are helpful. Still the worst name of any brewery. It sounds like a Temu beer kit that makes murky booze your friends pretend to like.
