The casino itself is pretty small, and the attached motel looks like it could use some serious TLC... honestly the roof alone might need some attention. That said, the cafe feels somewhat separate from the rest of the property once you're inside, and the food experience was better than the outside might suggest. The one thing that confused me was the name. The only actual $5 item on the menu was a simple breakfast of 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, and a slice of toast. To be fair, that's not the worst deal you'll find anywhere near the Las Vegas Strip, but calling it the 5 Dollar Cafe might be stretching it a little. I ordered the Breakfast Grilled Sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon, served with home-style potatoes, lettuce, and tomato. The sandwich tasted good and everything was hot and fresh, but I really wish it had actually been grilled like the name suggests. The home-style potatoes were solid though. Cooked all the way through, well seasoned, and a nice portion. I also had a cup of orange juice, and overall the meal hit the spot. We came here on multiple occasions when we were staying at The Strat on EDC week, and since it's very convenient and we didn't have to Uber around. The food was great and not too salty! We ate a variety of noodles, rice, and proteins, and we also ordered sandwiches to go, and it was still good even when it got cold lol! The only complaint was when we ordered the shrimp, they shorted us 2 pieces (not cool!) The service was fast, and employees were nice. It's also a small casino with loud music. Overall, this will be our go-to spot when we're staying at the Strat; we'll just have to count the shrimps next time before we leave, and see y'all next year! LOL read more

For the value, I don't think that a sit down service restaurant on the strip. The best part of this restaurant other than the restaurant's price is the speed. You can easily get in and out in less than 30 min. They do not serve alcohol and your food comes on paper plates but the value is there. I don't think anything the menu is over $15. Chicken and waffles; the chicken was like a flat chicken strip., side of potatoes had a very peculiar lemony peppery taste, and the hash brown was flat and greasy. Nothing exciting about any of them. The best was the waffle and my over hard egg. The hibiscus drink was too sweet and not a natural flavor. The lemon honey drink was horrible, I can't even describe that! But the Biggest turn off for me was after sitting and eating my food looking around and realizing I was surrounded by dust everywhere. We wanted something simple and easy as we had just arrived in Vegas that night. We walked about half a mile from the Hilton on the strip to get there. It was just myself and my two kids. I liked that they had a variety of options to pick from. The waiter immediately grabbed menus and let us pick a table. We sat by the windows and my 10yo was entertained by the view of the Stratosphere. The kids shared winter shrimp, which was fried shrimp with fries. They enjoyed the shrimp but didn't care for the fries too much. The fries had some seasoning on it that was a little spicy. I tried the fries myself and while I liked the texture, I would only eat them with ketchup. I ordered the chicken fried rice and they have a large serving. I ended up taking half of it home. I really enjoyed the flavor of the rice. I added a little soy sauce but it didn't need much. Even my daughter took a few bites of it. My son went up and got a to go container for us and they have him the check. They did add on an extra $4 which I'm assuming was a tip but it was just listed as an item.
