Also, iced coffee used to be $2 for a small. Now it increased to $4 and a large is at $8. Which is laughable. Its ICED COFFEE. Doesn't even have expresso in it. Ill be ordering less from here because of that. & that means ill forever will be going to Sweet Life Pastry for a REAL iced LATTE that is worth the actual 4 dollars. I went to the bakery on Saturday and order a custom cake for my boyfriend's birthday on Tuesday. I asked if they could have the cake ready by 8 AM that day and they told me that was manageable. I let them know I had to go to work after, and they reassured me that they open at 5 AM so there was nothing to worry about. I showed up today an hour late from my pickup time only to be told that my cake was not ready and would not be ready for at least another hour. I explained again that I had to get to work. Nice small bakery tucked in the corner of 161st and Broadway. The cake displays are always enticing when I walk past the bakery, so I finally decided to go in and check the place out. The cake selections are great, from tres leches, to pineapple cakes, to sweet potato pudding. I went for a slice of cornmeal cake. The portion was large, and just $2. The cakes looked really good and they had a nice variety with pineapple and tres leche, chocolate, etc. I had a sweet potato pudding that was delicious, fresh and creamy. We ordered some slices, for which we had to wait a bit since they were baking a brand new pie. It was good to get fresh pizza. It was good by all means, but nothing to write home about. I would eat there again if in need of a pizza fix and I'm lazy not to go far. The thing i liked most of the place was the way people interacted. This being your neighborhood bakery, most of the patrons that came in were regulars and chatted in a very candid and friendly way with the attendants.
