This one is absolutely different. I honestly haven't been to Golden Corral in a long time and decided to give it a try again, this location is was decent. I can say that the food was hot and they would change it out when it would it would get low. The price is definitely not worth it since the food choices were very low which made me think about customers who are vegetarian the only option they have is a salad. The manager on duty this day was not nicest him and the girls that work the front counter are constantly watching everyone and he seemed to be hovering around listening to everyone's conversations when there are tables that need cleaning. read more

Decided to swing through here for a Friday night dinner w/ the fam. Figured it would an ideal place with something for everyone. Didn't think that it would cost $70+ for a family of three. They offered all the usual suspects on the buffet line. Bad pizza, over fried chicken, soupy Mac and cheese and so on. Best thing to eat this visit were the yeast rolls. Super soft, warm, and with just a hint of honey butter brushed on them. The service was as expected. Loud and busy was the theme for this night. I always love going to Golden Corral. However, unless the price went up from two weeks ago, this particular Golden Corral seems more expensive than the one I normally go to in Victoria Texas. Customer Service was excellent and the food was amazing, like always. The Ambiance was good too. I would definitely go back. You have an array and assortment of foods to choose from. This used to be the place to fo with your families. But over the years I understand with inflation but, wow the food quality does NOT match the price. And if I'm paying 19.00 for lunch I expect it to be good. And I also expect the ice cream machine to be working at these prices. Family of 4 for 80.00 for lunch. This used to be my favorite place years ago. Now it's run down, not appetizing and the restaurant just has a thick wierd smell to it. The food was nit worth almost $30 a person. i decided to give gc a try after many years. as always, i manage expectations at a buffet. i've found if this is your plan then you're usually ok. i came on a sunday at noon so the church crowd was arriving. seems like a good day to come here. people dressed nicely and still in a "giving" mood. it makes trip to the steam table not such a game of thunderdome. tried.. chicken strip fried shrimp roasted potatoes w gravy steak meatloaf sliced ham fried fish ‍ grilled chicken mac n cheese ‍ roll pot roast steak fries didn't try these "can't miss" items...p baked potato corn on the cobb boiled egg salad greens sliced fruit soft serve avoided.. baked fish spaghetti and meat sauce banana pudding salad bar additional items dessert bar assorted attempts at vegetables pizza the meatloaf was bizarre but edible. the hot roll was a doughy mess. otherwise, the food items were ok. it's all a very average experience. just eat. the "avoided" items mean that i looked at them and they either looked terrible or i didn't want to risk it. read more

Literally the ice cream machine is down at this location more than the McFlurry machines at any local McDonald's... go to the new braunfels location if you want ice cream staff lied and said it was operational my daughter is crushed. All of this food looked so delicious, also the waiter in my section picked up my sisters food right when we sat down. This is one of the best restaurants in the area. The people are nice and the food is good. The assortment is always nice, hot and good. Like everywhere else you can have a single bad experience but I find it's the customers who don't respect buffet style. If your a senior where else can you eat all you want for under $10. Even $15 for a regular meal is a good deal. I pay that price at a fast food drive thru and the food is much better at The Golden. I recommend it 100%. I am a Golden Corral connoisseur. The staff are friendly people, but everything else is horrible. You ask for a well done steak and you get a steak from the raw fresh meat aisle from HEB. The smell of dirty wet carpet lingers the restaurant. Flies fly around your face as you attempt to eat your one star meal. Had dinner with the family there on Sunday 11/21 & got the worst food poisoning of my life. I would never wish how I felt on my worst enemy. Do not recommend this place the plates were dirty the restrooms were disgusting literally feces smeared on the seats, on toilet paper left on the ground & even pieces of feces on the floor. I'm sure the people who eat there are to blame but the establishment can be a little more diligent with maintaining cleanliness.
