This restaurant is located in a hotel which I typically avoid but decided to come to because of the rave reviews. Everything was absolutely delicious. The bar is huge and spacious and the bartender was fantastic. I had a 555 cocktail, which was perfect. I then got the goat cheese fritters the bread and the haddock in parchment paper. The accompaniments were amazing, lavender sea salt, pickled fennel, and hazelnuts. Dessert doesn't disappoint at all, especially seeing one of my favorite ice wines were on the menu. Don't let this restaurant being in a hotel deter you. It was a great great spot. Chefs kiss!

Large main dining room beautifully designed to partition into intimate spaces.

You'll feel like a grown-up on a nice night out, but not so stuffy that you can still wear casual attire! Seasonal menu always has delicious options beautifully presented. Our fave server Alana takes good care of us, but all the service is awesome. The space is quite large & well-designed into smaller intimate settings: one large main bar + a second one ideal for private events. This time, we had: 1. Short rib special w/ pesto grits & pickled radish was melt in your mouth! 2. Roast chicken was simply roasted w/ perfectly crispy skin & a divine sauce. 3.Caramelized onion soup: not to be missed! Garnished w/ balsamic glaze, chives, crispy shallots. Located inside the Federal Hotel. The rear parking lot has direct access to the restaurant.

Very good food, small Menu but what we ordered was great. Service was prompt and friendly, very cool atmosphere.

Pleasurable evening. 5 stars but an area or two for improvement. Joined a friend for dinner. Let's call it "pre-New Year's Eve" since it was 12/30. The restaurant is beautiful. Classy, elegant, welcoming vibe. Relaxed sophistication. The holiday decorations made it extra special. While the waitress tried (a bit too hard) to get us to order the signature tasting menu (various items on the menu but in smaller portions which gives you the opportunity to try multiple things in one visit) it was more than we wanted. The next suggestion was a large and also small plate. Again, I can see the potential benefits but more than we wanted and it felt "pushed". What we did order was the warm bread and butter as well as a glass of Reisling. Both were good. From there, it was Fish in Paper and Harissa Pork Loin. These were excellent - seasoned and cooked to perfection. When our silverware was switched out, the young woman simply reached across the table not even acknowledging us (a "hello" or "are you enjoying your meal" seems appropriate). One more glass of wine and a shareable, delicious creme brulee finished off the evening perfectly.

Baked Seafood in Mornay Sauce. Just delightful!

We had dinner at this restaurant last Friday night and found it to be a lovely room with a great 'feel' to it with tall windows and comfortable furnishings. We were staying at the Hotel so we were hoping it would be nice. While the food was just terrific, there were one or two hiccups. One was that there was some function going on at the same time as our reservation so a nearby function room was sucking up all of the staff and the kitchen getting them taken care of leaving us with a wait and a stressed out server who was not into serving anyone that evening. (Been there) My dinner, however, was delightful. I started with their 5 onion soup which was astonishingly good. Go to this restaurant and order that! I followed up my soup with a baked seafood with mornay sauce. The sauce was not overly thick, more like a milky chowder with a hint of cheese over a large portion of scallops, hake and Bangs Island mussels. That was just terrific too.

First try, but I was a big fan of 555 in Portland and now I'm a fan here. I came in tonight solo and sat at the bar. My bar man Stefan was welcoming and knowledgeable. Great combo . The mussels were pretty fabulous. The space is a comfortable and very modern vibe, unusual for this part of Maine. Check it out and you won't be disappointed.

Lobster truffle mac was underwhelming, and the wait was long. Ambiance was fantastic, wonderful, warm and inviting. Dessert was also good!

The folks at the bar are quite the opposite, they're friendly and engaging- one guy was dancing to live music, caulking around the AC while drinking drafts and discussing Him Morrison with me as I sat alone in a dark corner. This is what Irish bars are - just gotta inform the barmaid- only one, the other is quite nice - and the big guy - I'm betting a shit of Jamison that he's the owner- always running around the back, cooking up great meals - try his Steak and Cheese, the twelve inch pizza which beady eye called "fourteen" - duh - is $9.00 and big guys got a heavy topping hand, smothering that pie with the pepperoni that does that high heat trigger shaped twist - like a tulip pedal holding the little droplets of oil inside.

The bartender said we could order food even though it was really slow and the band had stopped playing. We ordered cheese steaks sandwiches. We asked what came with the sandwiches and we were told tater tots. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food. We had to wait about 5 minutes for the ketchup and there were no tater tots. We got a bag of chips and were told they were out of the tater tots and French fries. No respectable Irish bar would not be able to serve fries or some form of potato with a meal. The bar had about 10 people in the bar and they were all pretty drunk. It is not a fun pub but a place with some sad drunks.

Looking to have a nibble and a mocktail or cocktail with friends? The Abbey has it (and more). The vibe: relaxed, warm, mid-modern meets minimalism, gorgeous stained glass windows, lots of natural light pouring in, the most comfortable seats you've ever sat in at a high top, lots of wood and greenery, a playlist that makes you stop and lean in. It's a cozy place that makes you want to stay a while. The drinks: I tried an iced cardamom latte with oat milk and it was fantastic (if you've ever had the vanilla cardamom cold brew coffee from Trader Joe's, it was an elevated version of that). I've also had a couple cocktails - since they make their syrups in house when they run out, they run out and your drink might be unavailable... BUT the staff is exceptional at making alternate recommendations and even making totally off menu drinks entirely! The food: Several (clearly labeled) vegan options! We tried the muhammara (a housemade dip topped with spiced walnuts, chickpeas, and three half slices of toasted sourdough) and the hummus plate (housemade and topped with marinated chickpeas and a drizzle of olive oil, accompanied by six naan wedges). LOVE the quantity of both dips, but wish there was some other dipping vessel outside of (the sometimes stodgy) bread. A little heap of rainbow veggies would be amazing! While the muhammara was a bit more liquidy than I've had elsewhere, the hummus was thicker than I was expecting. Solid shareable options regardless! (Grab a seat, order at the counter, and they'll call your name when your drinks are ready so you can go grab them; if you've ordered food, they'll bring that to your table. It was confusing what the clean-up situation was, several of us just sort of walking back to the bar with our plates and cups.) Excited to return again!
