After touring WMU's campus we stopped in here for brunch and so glad we did. Everything was delicious and our server was very kind and knowledgeable. We started with the charcuterie and I recommend that simply for the pimento cheese. I had the Verde eggs which were served over polenta, different and tasty. Our mimosas were a generous pour as well. We've been wanting to try this place for a while, and we finally did last night. The interior of the building is amazing, and the architecture is pretty fabulous. I ordered the Sirloin steak with sweet potato hash. My wife ordered a house salad with blue cheese dressing. I also ordered a draft microbrew, and she ordered a raspberry vodka with club soda. The beer was tasty, but my wife had to send back her drink 3 times since they kept adding sugary chambore, raspberry puree, and other sugary items. They finally said that they were out of raspberry vodka, so she ordered a Tito's and soda. Fourth time was a charm. Unfortunately her second drink was made with tonic instead of soda. No big deal, but it's a shame that they had to dump four cocktails. As for the food, my steak was cooked to the correct temperature, and the sweet potato hash was delicious. My wife's salad was also delicious, along with the blue cheese dressing. Overall, the place is pretty nice, kind of pricey, but good service and a great atmosphere. Now, I'll preface this review by saying that I only stopped in here for the drinks. I saw a Kalamazoo website touting this place as having some of the best craft cocktails in the area. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the drinks the bartender made. I had a couple and my wife two as well. All were well made and tasty with a bit of flair! I also observed several other cocktails being made and it was obvious the bartender knew what she was doing. They do however, tend to use local bourbons as their wells and in some instances, these are not very good bourbons. I would ask that they use better recognized brands. Highly recommended! read more

Group dinner for a leadership fellowship I'm in. The restaurant is in downtown Kalamazoo and you can find parking there. The building is a nice brick building with indoor and outdoor seating. Because we were in a group, we got a good space upstairs. I don't remember the name of our waiter but he was a very cute one and super personable. We enjoyed the goat cheese mousse and bread and the burrata for appetizers. The goat cheese was better to me than the burrata because I don't like certain things to be sweet. I had their Manhattan for a drink and it was good. They use interesting vessles foe the drinks but that doesn't really matter. Because we were with a group, we could choose between steak, chicken and salmon for dinner, with a vegetarian meatloaf option for those who so desired. I had the Michigan steak which was accompanied by au gratin potatoes and a squash/ zucchini medley. My entire meal was delicious! Steak cooked perfectly and the potatoes were kind of al dente but didn't take anything away from the dish. For dessert we had their warm brownie with ice cream. Rode around for an hour looking for a place with outside dining during Covid. Seen this place from the road and noticed they had heaters on the patio. Stopped in for lunch and glad we did. It was a bit cold for a guy from Mississippi but thankfully the heaters were warm. Also you can rent a clean blanket for $2.00 during your visit. Additionally, they had seating inside a "pod" but this was full. I started with a Moscow Mule. Perfectly made and helped warm me up. I ordered the burger with cheddar cheese, cooked medium. It came in a reasonable time and was cooked perfect. No complaints from me. Would definitely return if I lived here. read more

Gorgeous industrial style space with an open kitchen, first floor and loft dining rooms and outdoor seating with very nice tables and umbrellas. Small but something-for-everybody brunch menu, great selection of wine and cocktails, including fabulous and unusual custom Bloody Mary's. Our server was genuinely interested in ensuring our visit was terrific. She was friendly and helpful. The attention to safety and sanitation was impressive. Silverware, cloth napkin and a small side plate were inside a sealed white paper bag, as were tiny salt and pepper shakers. No plastic silverware or paper napkins Coffee was never refilled from the pot; new full cups were brought from the kitchen. Now for the food. We both ordered basic breakfast- eggs, sourdough toast, bacon, potato. The food came without the bacon and without butter on the toast. It took more than a few minutes to get the bacon and some hot sauce and some butter. By that time everything else was cold. The bacon was fabulous even cold. Thick and chewy and a tiny bit sweet. The Rosti potato was amazing. My husband ordered a side of grits. I guess we were too far north and should have known better. They were "savory" grits, like you might have at dinner with shrimp. And a little maple syrup had been artfully swirled on top. Kind of gross. We had to have those taken off the bill. 600 only does breakfast on the weekend. I love what the Millennium Restaurant Group did to this 111 year old building that was once Kalamazoo Foundry and Machine Co. It was gutted inside, but they left the bones of the building, which makes for a really cool look. We came for dinner on a Saturday evening. There is a host stand right inside the door and we were seated to a table next to the window looking out on their patio. The space is gorgeous. Original brick, large windows, decorative concrete floor, exposed high ceiling. The distressed wood on the interior walls is pretty cool. There is also a private dining area up on the balcony that overlooks the main dining room. However, because of all this steel and exposed ceilings it was loud in there as the restaurant was nearly full with large groups. I had a hard time hearing the waiter and even D sitting right next to me (and I have excellent hearing). After ordering our wines and relaxing for a bit, we placed our orders. I opted for the Carlson's Pork Chop, which came with mixed potato hash, arugula, cherry tomatoes, and balsamic glaze. It was very good; however, a little overkill on the arugula. D loved his Spicy Pastrami sandwich that was made with honey habanero cheese, house-made mustard slaw on chipotle bread. The atmosphere is very nice. The veggie quiche had no taste and had a jello like consistency. They were out of the meat quiche. I ordered sausage on the side. It had no flavor. I don't understand why the food had no flavor and no I am not sick! They also forgot to bring my potatoes and then added an extra charge for them. They did take it off when I pointed this out but if I hadn't checked my bill I would have paid an extra $6.00! Check your Bill! I did enjoy the Bloody Mary! Such a great place! We went for brunch while in the area after leaving the Air Zoo (must visit). Although they were busy, they have quite a bit of seating both on the main floor and upstairs as well as outside. We didn't have to wait at all for a table for 2 around 12pm on a Sat. They have a vast brunch menu and all of the food and drinks sound like they would be amazing! The cocktails we ordered were very good; you can taste the alcohol but not overpowering. The zombie skillet (with gravy on the side) and 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy with a side Caesar salad were our entrees. The skillet was presented very different than a traditional skilled however didn't matter, it was amazing!!! The cheddar sausage gravy was so delicious however we liked it on the side to control the amount. The traditional biscuits and gravy had so much flavor and the 1/2 order was plenty! Caesar salad was pretty good, not the best I've ever had but still good and the 1/2 was large. Service was equally as great with consistent checking in and very fast with drinks and food. Took my brother and nephew here for dinner. It was not great but good in general. Garret waited on us and was very attentive. We started with the charcuterie board and the poutine. It was good but also forgettable. Nephew had a chicken dish which he did not finish, my brother had the shrimp and grits which he said good but the grits needed work. I ordered the bone-in ribeye which was okay. Also ordered a few desserts which were very good. It was a solid restaurant, but I wouldn't be in a rush to return. read more

The menu had a lot of variety but didn't have an overwhelming amount of options (thankfully!). The cocktails are pricey but yummy. This was the best meal I've had in Kalamazoo this year! I found out about this place through word of mouth, vetted it on Yelp, and gave it a shot with a 2 colleagues while in town on business last week. We each enjoyed a bourbon cocktail before dinner from their extensive list, split the goat cheese mousse appetizer and the baked Brie appetizer, then had our entrees. Two of us had the salmon, and the other had a steak. Everyone was really pleased with their meal. My salmon was perfectly medium, served over a seared cornbread pudding, and finished with a herbed compound butter that was amazing. I'm generally not a big stewed tomato fan, but the way this side was seasoned was delicious. Too full to try dessert this time. Overall, a great dining experience. read more

I met some girlfriends for brunch and came to Yelp hoping for some pics to help me decide what to order and noticed there weren't a lot of variety in brunch photos. We ended up with the breakfast burrito, biscuits and gravy, rosti potatoes and the spring frittata. Everything was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and a lot were locally sourced. There are still several things I want to try so I will definitely be back. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. 10/10 read more

Every time we come to 600 kitchen it's always a nice experience. I love how their menu changes regularly as well. Nice variety, great food and service. Sat at the bar today and had crystal as our server. Such a sweet gal. Attentive, interactive and kind. We had avocado toast, hickory chicken sandwich, bagel sandwich and a half order of biscuits and gravy. All sooooo good! The big pitcher of mimosas are always a must too! read more

I tried this for the 1st time tonight for dinner. There were 3 of us and we decided to do burgers. One person had the 600 Old Fashioned and said it was tasty. The waitress was very friendly. All of the staff we encountered was very friendly as well. The burgers were great! I ordered the Parm Truffle fries and they could have been crispier, they were kind of limp. The staff needs more training on what ingredients go into all of the items and they need to have tried all of the dishes. She tried her best but you could tell there had been inadequate training there. We will go back to try the weekend brunch soon as it is highly recommended. read more

One of the best atmospheres in Kalamazoo, and drinks were good. Unfortunately the positive experience ended there. First, we waited the quoted 45 min wait time, which was fine, but the bar at this place is hilariously tiny. While I give the bartender credit for being overwhelmed, we weren't even able to order a drink until we had waited 25 minutes. We started with the mushroom toast - pretty good, not extraordinary. For dinner, my husband ordered mushroom burger (he noted good flavor) with fries and it came out with a salad. The server was very nice and fixed the problem quickly, but the fries she brought were cold and stale. He had also ordered the walnut old fashioned and after the waitress brought up the candied bacon garnish, the drink was brought without it. I ordered the Caesar salad with sirloin medium, and not only was the steak extremely overcooked, but ingredients listed on the menu were missing. The menu mentioned crispy capers, which piqued my interest (I wouldn't have spent $17 on a normal Caesar salad I could get anywhere), and I simply received romaine with some cheese and dressing, which was bland. The salad was very filling and not bad, but not what I expected. For dessert, I ordered the chili brownie tarte (forgive me, I don't recall the correct name) and my husband ordered the bread pudding. My tarte came in a hard shell that my husband compared to a dog treat. The brownie inside was virtually flavorless, as was the "mousse" (watery whipped cream) that topped it. The most flavorful part of the whole dish was the chili powder on top. Adam's bread pudding had a nice texture and the accompanying gelato was yummy, but the bread pudding had an overpowering cinnamon taste - and we're talking like Big Red gum/Hot Tamales flavor. To say the least, we were bummed. This place is about 2 minutes from our house and we loved the farm to table concept, but like many other Millennium Restaurants, this place had great ideas with subpar execution. read more

Me and my boyfriend were touring western and we saw this and was like oh this looks good. Key words looks. The reason it gets one store is because it's a really nice inside. It's got a nice vibe to the place and overall the food and the place looks nice. So as you do on tinder i swiped right. Thinking I got a hot looking meal and ended up with the opposite. The food is just terrible. Yet it looks so good. My boyfriend wanted to go outside and just puke because it is simply so unseasoned and disgusting. Also don't plan on getting good costumer service. My bill came to 75 dollars without tip and I could've gotten one of everything at Mc Donald's and would've been much happier. I know it looks good but don't eat here. read more

Very cool atmosphere. Beautiful interior. I appreciated that they had a list of mocktails. The one I ordered was absolutely delicious. We had a steak and a hickory chicken sandwich-both were awesome. It is also kid friendly, with nice options for little ones and high chairs. When I told a colleague I was heading here for lunch she discouraged it. But I'm glad I didn't change my plans! They didn't disappoint. We arrived at an odd time- after lunch but before dinner so we were the only ones there. I imagine it gets pretty busy though based on the good food and quality service we received. We started with meat & cheese board. The blue cheese was amazing. (I was surprised the goat cheese wasn't an option since it was heavily advertised in the menu.) I also really enjoyed the leek jam- no one else at the table ate it but I thought it's flavor profile was really unique! I had the forbidden rice bowl with the pork belly and someone else at the table tried it with the steak. I loved the mix of flavors- forbidden rice, Asian veggies, perfect soft boiled egg, avocado (& a large portion of it!) and of course the pork belly. Together it was delicious. My only "complaints" were that there was a little too much rice to keep the meal balanced (so I left a lot of it at the end) & the pork belly was pretty tough- it was hard to cut with my butter knife. I expected it to be much more tender. The steak on the other hand looked perfectly prepared. The other person at the table with the burger said it was good - loved the fried egg- but nothing to write home about. We also tried the yogurt, granola, fruit dessert. This didn't end the meal the way we had hoped- on a sweet note. It was great but seemed more like a brunch dish. A bit of a sour note from the yogurt and the ginger-honey while delicious wasn't terribly sweet. I want to clarify, it tasted wonderful but wasn't the sweet dessert we were looking for. Finally, the restaurant itself was beautiful!! I loved the original brick and original lifts still in the rafters. The only additional thing they added to the structure was the large wooden wall. I was told that it's reclaimed wood from an old barn in Oregon. I thought that was a really nice touch. And also the dishes and glassware were beautifully selected to compliment the restaurants aesthetic. read more
