My wife's car ABS light came on and she went to City Garage in Richardson. They charged $110 for a diagnostic and said the ABS ring had slipped but the ring was not sold separately and She had to buy the whole cv axle for $174 plus $130 for labor. They lied. If you search the part it costs $69.99 at auto zone however auto parts stores such as auto zone and oreilly sells the ring for 7.99 plus tax and they all have the same description as follows. I purchased a used truck that had lots of minor issues. This morning the truck completely crapped…read moreout and I had it towed to the Southwest Car Care since it's pretty close to the house and open on Saturday. After doing some basic troubleshooting we thought this was going to be a big job, probably a fuel pump and various electrical issues. 30 minutes after the truck was dropped off I was called by the shop and they walked me through everything. Turns out it was an electrical issue from the previous owner that made it look like a fuel/air issue with the truck. Southwest could have easily gouged me and told me it was any number of other items. I went to the shop and they walked me through various items on my truck, letting me know what was in good shape and what could use further review or maintenance. They showed me any items that they thought were safety concerns and then detailed how they can be fixed. I went into this expecting a huge repair bill and days without my truck. I left Southwest Car Care the same day with a lot of knowledge and a trusted mechanic for any of my future car issues. Oh yeah, and a perfectly working truck.

Drove it home, still leaking, went back and they said it was now the water pump, which is under warranty from the engine replacement. They obviously misdiagnosed the coolant leak and would not refund the hoses. I said I would be happy to pay for the hoses but refund the labor since you misdiagnosed it. Nope, but they replaced the water pump because it was under warranty. Technician misdiagnosed the truck and charged us. Beware!
