Rico and his entire crew did a great job packing our house. We had lots of very fragile art glass, teapots and wine glasses. All were pack very carefully as if they were packing their own things. The loading was also complicated as some items were being stored and some taken to our garage for donation and they managed to get everything to the right place. We used 680 movers for a local move in Walnut Creek. Everything went smoothly and they were very accommodating when we asked to change the date with a short notice. They arrived within 15 minutes of the estimated time and the three guys worked very hard and quickly. Nothing was broken, floors and walls were protected and the price was very reasonable! Very unsatisfied. They showed up 45 minutes late because they got lost finding us in the morning even though I had very clearly spelled the street name when I made the reservation - Westcliffe, one word with an e at the end - because whoever transcribed it to their orders had made it into two words and misspelled it. (The foreman showed me the paper.) That isn't a huge deal by itself, but things didn't get any better. The move took THREE HOURS longer (to move 1.5 miles) than it took a different moving company to move us here FROM Berkeley, and that move had three flights of stairs and it was 100 degrees outside. (Three hours at $150 an hour adds up.) Not only did they not hustle, they didn't properly load the truck in the first place so they spent AN HOUR in our driveway at the house we were moving from trying to figure out how to squeeze the washer/dryer into an already full truck, when we were only going 1.5 miles away and they could have made an additional trip much easier. Seriously, at the beginning of the hour the only thing not in the truck was the washer/dryer and they ended up at the end of the hour just strapping it on the back of the truck anyway. I paid $150 for that hour they tinkered around. The crew moved so slowly that at the end of the move my husband was helping them unload the truck. We chose not to have our furniture assembled, and we told them to just stack the boxes in the front room rather than spending the additional time putting them into the rooms they belonged. We spent the next day moving them ourselves when we should have been unpacking. The crew was unprofessional - the foreman seemed to talk on the phone the whole time and it was extremely difficult to communicate instructions to the other two crew members because of their very limited english. This move should have taken less time, should have been more organized and honestly because no one ever apologized to me (about showing up late, spending an hour in our driveway after the truck was fully loaded, moving slow, etc.) I got the impression that this is how they typically do business. We purchased lunch for the crew and also some Gatorades in the afternoon and no one even said thank you. I'm extremely disappointed, given how highly rated this company was on Yelp. Definitely not worth the price. I also feel it's important to mention that I have used professional moving companies often in the past (moved within Colorado 5+ times and just moved long distance to Berkeley and then 2 months ago to Walnut Creek before this last move) , so I'm used to how much it costs and I have always considered movers worth the money I pay for them. 680 cannot even compare to other movers who have cost similar or less. read more

We had 680 movers out to move our home, and they did a wonderful job, we have a big home, and we didn't prep or pack very good, they came in with a crew of 3 and banged it out, we had so much stuff they had to have another truck delivered to our home. They got there at 8:30am worked till 630pm, they worked non stop, wrapped all my furniture, even wrapped and moved my pride and joys, I have a 80inch a 65inch, a 55inch tv , and they handled them like professionals, would use them again, but don't plan on moving for a long time, great service read more

I can't say enough about 680 movers! This is my 2nd time using them and I will use them every time I move. I had 2 Russian guys and a Mongolian guy (as they light heartedly pointed out) and they wrapped every piece of my furniture with precision and detail. I did not have one scratch on my furniture and I have some very expensive pieces from Crate & Barrel. We moved from a 5th floor apartment to a 3 story townhome within the same town. Smooth move all the way! Crystal was great too and confirmed with me a few days before the move. The total move was 5 hours and the guys moved quickly and carefully to get the job done. We used 680 Movers last weekend, and they did an amazing job, Crystal called to talk over the details, took a deposit, and followed up on the day before the move. The guys showed up at 9:30 Saturday morning ready to work. Everything was explained to us, a rough estimate was given, and they started moving. We had a two bedroom condo + garage, moving from San Ramon to Brentwood. They got it all done in 7 hours, this included their drive time. I highly recommend them, and will use them again One note, ask about wardrobe boxes ahead of time. I am pretty sure ALL moving companies let you use them for free since you don't actually keep them. They tried to tell use they cost $15, but was asked to give them a good tip instead. I had no problem tipping them extra based on the great work they did. One more note, you are charged for supplies such as plastic wrap for furniture, and tape used by them. This was explained upfront and is a normal charge by moving companies read more

We purchased a home and dates/times for close of escrow kept changing. I kept her in the loop and she was able to push back our moving date with no problem. We moved into a 6-bedroom house and once again we used 680-movers for their cost efficiency, fast work, and flat, reliable rates. Our neighbors are both "from" and "to" location used them, believe it or not. Once again they live up to their cost efficiency, professionalism, right on-time. They are very careful with our furniture (we had like 100 boxes from full house to full house). They are very careful not to ding or scratch the walls, stair corners, etc. They helped us packed any remaining items. This enabled us clear out the full two-story house within 6 hours 15 minutes; everything done from start to finish, including driving time. Crystal was great and very courteous in scheduling. We used 680 Movers last year (sorry, new Yelp account and just getting around to this review). My boyfriend and I bought a new house and were combining our two separate households, and we used these guys for both moves. We were not impressed. My truck was on time, but his was late. They did not take much care in disassembling his queen size bed, and thus did not put it back together correctly at the new house. We actually had to take it apart and put it back together ourselves the night we moved in, since it was creaking and threatening to fall to pieces. At my house, I had to remind the movers several times to pack my outdoor furniture, and they still almost locked the truck up without it. They had trouble disconnecting my washing machine, and ended up throwing some of the connective parts for the dryer inside the washing machine during the move. I wish someone had told me this, because when we got to the new house, the movers said there "were no parts attached to the dryer, and if there were they were still at the house", so we ended up going out to buy new ones so that we could wash the sheets for that night. Not all of the boxes were put in the correct room, even though every box was marked on at least THREE of the four sides, AS WELL AS ON TOP, in big black marker with capital letters. Boxes clearly labeled "OFFICE" were put in the garage, and boxes labeled "BATHROOM" got left in the garage or living room, etc. All in all, I think we found about 9 of our 40 boxes placed incorrectly. Just kind of a pain for us to be moving heavy boxes ourselves (esp. given my bulging disk in my neck) and trying to locate items. Some of the workers were friendly. One, however, was not. He did not seem to be overly interested in doing his job correctly, and I suspect he is to blame for all of the misplaced boxes. However, the WORST part of this experience was that they damaged my $2000 leather sectional. When the piece was unwrapped in the living room, I could see clear indentations on the back of the upright portion of the couch. These indentations were about 2" in diameter and there were multiple identical round indentations. It was quite clear that in the truck, my chairs had been stacked up against the leather sofa so that their feet pushed into the back of my couch. I pointed this out to the mover, who said it would "bounce back on its own." I pointed out it would not (case in point, the couch is STILL damaged a year later), He then became defensive and said he did not stack the chairs against my sofa, but honestly, it was pretty obvious. This was a brand new West Elm Sofa and it was in perfect condition when it was picked up. Now, unfortunately, it remains blemished. All in all, as I said, we were not impressed. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but if we do have to move again, we are picking another company. read more

She clearly takes pride in her job, was patient in answering all our questions and was either available immediately or got right back to us whenever we called. The moving team led by Rodrigo was skilled and very professional. They worked nonstop, wrapped everything very carefully. Rigo also helped situate things beautifully in the storage area we are using temporarily. Pleasant and professional experience for a reasonable fee. They took careful consideration with our valuables and wrapped everything in blankets and plastic wrap. There was no damage found on anything. I got two guys for my move from Livermore to Walnut Creek last week -- unfortunately I don't remember their names, but I doubt you can request specific movers anyway. They worked diligently through rainy weather, and were very pleasant to work with. They came prepared with all necessary materials. They allow you to help with the move as long as you don't get on the truck -- perhaps because I chipped in, they didn't charge me for the boxes that they needed during packing. Packing (I did some in advance), moving, unloading, and assembling furniture cost $126/hr (including cash discount) for a two-man team. I believe the appointment was set up with a 4 hour window, but they called me that morning saying they were ready early, which I gladly took them up on. Next time I have to move I'll just save a lot of time searching and go with these guys. read more

We have used 680 movers twice recently. We were not looking forward to the second move, and it came as a surprise. In my upset mood, I called 680 to book our unexpected move, and they were so nice, and made me feel better by the time I got off the phone. We had planned on them storing our things for a short time while we continued to look for another home. We found a place at the very last minute, as in three days before we were going to store our things! I called them and they were their ever cheerful selves, and said not a problem, and changed the service to a full move. Both times we have used them, they have sent us the best crews. In all of our moves, 680 have been the best hands down!! The crews are so hard working and have a very happy attitude, even though they are dead tired. We have A LOT of things, like books and kitchen ware, and a giant piano. Both times they moved us, it was super fast and no fuss. They non stopped worked and didn't take many breaks, unlike another moving company that we used in Walnut Creek, that took forever, and charged us a fortune! They have five stars for a reason, they get the job done fast, are courteous, and the price if fair. I highly recommend them!!! read more

Adrian and his crew of four guys were awesome!! I moved from Castro Valley to Discovery Bay, from a two bedroom apartment to a 4 bedroom house. They hustled the entire time, was careful with my belongings, trucked all of the labeled items to their specified location in their home. Never once stopped, I even gave them breakfast and lunch, but they waited to eat everything until the work was done. Fabulous group a guys that dealt with my my two kids and one nosy dog. Calling them again to grab my stuff from storage that didn't fit in the first trip. The price came to around $1400... completely worth every penny! read more

Nice folk, turned up on time, worked their socks off, packed the stuff we wanted them to pack really well, no damage (unlike the previous movers we used), and were INCREDIBLY reasonable on the price. On top of that, our move was supposed to happen over two days, out the first, then overnight storage, and in the second. As it happened, we took possession of our new house earlier than expected, and they were flexible enough to do the whole move in one day. Can't recommend them highly enough. I requested for 3 movers and 4 showed up. The person in lead (Robertson?) was horrid. The other 3 were great and did the majority of the heavy labor. Robertson wanted me to sign on his cell phone before they could begin (small and hard to look at). He was unable to explain anything as to the terms. When paying I asked for a breakdown. Robertson said it was difficult and would only show what I owed. In the end, I did not receive my $200 deposit back. I was credited $53.50 . They showed a new final price with no explanation. They offer you $10 off per hour if you pay in cash and in this case my receipt was in a form of an email which did not reflect our transaction. I made a mistake in trusting them in my haste of getting things done. Robertson could not provide breakdown, insisted that I pay what he showed me on his cell phone (I believing that they are a reputable and honest company did not contest that). The receipt I received after was $200 less than I paid in cash. I ended up paying as much as I would have if I had gone with the company I used before but with less frustration. read more
