The physical location on the map is good (it would be better for traffic if it was to the south of the intersection of Del Mar Heights). I like how they usually have hot coffee available with the coffee machine options, although I think it's been twice now where my coffee cup lid has fallen off after I've left this 711 store! Never had that problem anywhere else. I'm concerned the cashier could either be accidentally or passive aggressively touching my hit coffee Cup lid as they ring it up resulting it becoming loose. read more

It has been so long since I've reviewed this 7-11 yet i'm here quite often. 7-eleven review is a bit tough to write since there isn't too much new to say. the store is clean parking is easy staff ring me up nice seeing new products in here. i used to like the salads but now the toppings are already on the salad (vs before they were packaged separately)...gross, now i have no choice and the lettuce is usually soggy. That's not the fault of this store itself...its whoever is making these salads. great grab and go protein meals (nuts/cheese etc)... love me a coffee or diet coke too! read more

I've mostly had great experiences here. Their gas prices are cheap especially in this neck of the woods. Download the GasBuddy app and compare the gasoline prices within a two mile radius from here. I think you might be pleasantly surprised. I don't usually come here during the mornings so I know it's a different crew that works that shift. The evening crew, Ruben and Elmer, are awesome. They're friendly with their customers and the store is always organized and well stocked. Oh, and they carry craft beers too! Friend bought a Ballast Point 22oz sculpin there the other week. Plus, they promised to tell me if they see another Chargers stop by (TIP: take a look at the autographs on their wall next time) ! They used to have more freshly brewed coffees on hand but I've noticed the varieties diminishing on my last few morning visits. And their pre made sandwiches are actually pretty good. I think they're only open til 11p or so. Not sure though (but they're def not open 24 hours). Regardless, this is my fave 7-Eleven. There ya go. read more

Rules don't make sense. Showed my passport which is a valid form of ID and was denied purchase. Pretty sure this is illegal. Incredibly rude and rushed us out and an absolute nightmare of a human. I'm 30 years old and was treated as if I was 14. She also said that we were on "audio" recording, which I'm fairly sure is also illegal. Horrible. read more

Came in here to grab some drinks for a lunch I was giving and was happy to find that they had cold 2 liters! That really helps me save a ton of $ and it is sorta rare to find them chilled anywhere. The staff are really helpful. There were two young ladies working and they offered to help me bring my stuff to my car and were really good at greeting me and saying goodbye. Never before in my life have I been charged for getting a cup of ice water from 7-Eleven.... until tonight. I will always bring my own cup and advise the clerk of my intentions. When I did so here at this convenience store, the clerk, Kyle, said, "I charge for it" with a grin. I smiled back thinking he was joking. When I got to the soda vending machine, there was a note posted saying "all cups of ice .25". I thought the guy was joking, but thought to myself, whatever. A quarter for a cup of water. Then I walked up to the register ready to give him a quarter and saying "I thought you were joking!" He then rung me up for $1.00 plus tax ($1.09)! WTF! Really! As if it were a refill of soda or something. I told him I'd never been charged for water at any 7-eleven. He thought I was bonkers and trying to get him to change his store policy. No thank you I turned and poured it out. Wasn't interested in paying for something every store that I've ever been to has offered for free! McDonalds, AMPM, every other 7-Eleven.... FREE! I get it that being close to the beach, people come in and get ice and probably abuse it. So sure, charge for it. But it's a constant across this country that water isn't charged for! So then, in order to avoid this type of scenario again, I asked if the store owner owned any additional stores. He looked befuddled. Maybe he wasn't sure. I asked for the store owners name. He told me Deidre. I asked for her contact info and Kyle said I should look it up. Maybe again, he didn't know it. But he then accused me of being "lazy and to do my due diligence". I should use my smart phone and look it up. WOW! That was pretty rude. I was doing my due diligence and trying to get the contact information. He then said he already gave me the name of the person and I could get the rest by looking it up. Basically he wanted me to call the store and get the information he couldn't provide for me. I must average out my stars because there are truly two establishments apparently doing business under the same name. They are, for all intents and purposes, completely separate-- the gas station and the convenience store next door. I'm not a fake or a shill, which seems that other reviewers might be..I really live down the street and I don't give a cr@p what kind of coffee they have.,I don't look. The gas station is still under staffed, rude and over priced. The convenience store does not suck. The employees do their level best to serve folks in a timely manner. Really. They are great. I think it's obnoxious that 7-11'over works their staff, leaving one employee to handle the cash register, the store and make whatever new toasted sandwiches are on the latest menu. Amazingly, there's not one employee who complains about this over load...maybe they don't see how peeved the waiting customers are getting. But. Every employee greets every customer with a smile and engages in conversation, no matter how meaningless. Without complaint, staff do what they must: toast a sandwich while other customers stand waiting..they find a pizza container or weird brand of cigarettes hidden amongst the shelves. The employees do their jobs to the utmost and they're darned nice about it. They even defend the store so as to not receive a bad yelp review. Apparently these people Like Their jobs. I am a self made, educated and successful local entrepreneur who has never been accused, charged or acquitted of any crime in my life, ever. I have never ever been involved in any criminal activity and am a very clean cut guy. I went into 7-Eleven Mango drive hoping for coffee only to realize after walking in that all the self service beverages were not operable because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Completely understandable. As I turned around to leave the store, the employee, Kyle, accused me of stealing and confronted me in the store completely unprovoked and out of no where. I was so caught off guard I didnt even know how to react. He continued to get in my face and continued to interrogate me and accuse me of stealing. He even asked me to empty my pockets which I did to appease him and show him how outrageous and offensive his accusations were. I left the store without buying anything and to try and keep the situation calm. He continued to be smug and nasty and said how he had my license plates on camera and how he would be checking the cameras tomorrow. I encouraged him to do whatever he felt necessary as I hadn't done anything wrong. It was so uncomfortable and unsettling to have this experience in this store. I have never been in this situation ever in my life. I grew up in Del Mar and have been coming into this store for probably 20 years. I imagine I have probably even seen this employee before on occasion. Shame on Kyle and this store for allowing this to happen. He should be appreciative of the fact he still has a job in these challenging times and he should not be accusing random strangers of stealing in his store at 10:30pm and trying to be a cop. Never in my life as a 31 year old man have i had my ID requested or looked over as much as two of the cashiers at this 711. Gabriel and the short girl with short hair ask for my ID every day (i am in here almost every day). They make no effort to make conversation but act as if my ID isn't real (once again I'm 31). Their employee Muhammad has ruined three DoorDash orders for us. Additionally, we called to inquire why so many items were canceled. He hung up on my wife, after pretending he could not hear her then saying she was too loud. I drove up to the store and bought the items he cancelled, they were in stock. DoorDash tried to contact the store, but Muhammad never answered. Muhammad seems to have a negative bias towards women. Now we call ahead and if he's working we do not order. I did not want to do this but I think that many others feel the same way. There is an employee named Sonia who repeatedly discriminated against my girlfriend and I. On one occasion she refused to sell my 30 year old gf tobacco product and then did the same to me a 32 year old man. After this happened a few days later I got a free coffee on 711 rewards app and in line my gf was drinking the coffee and when we got to the register was told by Sonia the app didnt work, my gf had already been drinking so we ask if we could keep the coffee and I could come back after app was working so she could scan it then, Sonia then says she would have let us keep the coffee but I was rude so she would not. We left and I have come back multiple times to explain my gf was sick and that I had the app working now so could you please scan app coupon now. Now she refuses to serve me or my gf and has made her minions that look at her as their boss start yelling in the store at me. I've never been so mistreated by an employee. I shop at 711 almost everyday as it is the closest convenient store, but the ladies that work there are out of line. The guys that work are all chill and have never had problems. Something that was such a small thing has turned into a big deal because 1 lady has had a vendetta against my gf and I. She needs to be put in her place. The customer is always right and especially since I am a regular. This obviously has nothing to do with the coffee, she thinks she is the owner but the discrimination and the treatment we have experienced is entirely out of line. I hope management does the right thing and reprimands Sonia and her coworker . They dont know what customer service is. To add upon covid policies at 711, my gf felt that if she had given Sonia the coffee she had been drinking then Sonia may have passed the covid virus to dozens of other customers if not more. It was our moral obligation to prevent that from happening. I hope this leads a better understanding of the situation and it can be resolved. read more

My 7-eleven app informs me that this location 7- eleven is my favorite location and you all should know that the reasons I visit this location is because the people there seem very genuine they go out of their way to greet you, they smile when you need a smile ! It helps make my day! The coffee is old school not this tech junk thats at all the other 7-eleven stores . The workers all seem happy and yes very attractive woman workers have to be honest! Times spent here are never forgotten. This place has always been there for me through the good times and the bad. There is a special feeling I get when I enter this holy of holy temple. One that will never compare. One that will never be forgotten. I fell in love with this place when got a job on High Bluff which is just a minute down Del Mar Heights Road. I would always come in here for a supreme cup of coffee where the options were endless. Also I partook in great feasts which could be described as "unbridled glory". Decent selection of beer for a gas station as well. Nothin like a Modelo and hot dog in the morn. That my friend is breakfast of a warrior about to take on his day. The people you come across here are quite lovely as well. Whether its strikin up a conversation with your fellow local while stirring the cream into your Kona blend or talking about the lovely weather with the temple workers while purchasing your items at the register...this is the place to enjoy life and be grateful for what you have during this short time here on this planet. We only live once. We must embrace our time here on Earth. Take a moment to reflect on life and reflect on the future with help through this temple. Trust me. This place there for you. If you are having a bad day, or you're gearing up for a crazy weekend, this temple is a temple to lean on. When I think of this temple I think of that tune "Lean on Me". I stopped by this location on Friday 10/09/15, and I was sorely disappointed by the incompetence of the staff and complete lack of basic customer service skills. There was a black girl and a skinny Arab guy manning two registers and a line of people waiting to check out and some guy walks in and right away is allowed to cut in front of everyone by the clueless black girl. It was mind boggling and to make matters even worse when I protested, the skinny little guy who obviously doesn't know hows to say hello or thank you, rudely drops the change in my hand all while completely avoiding eye contact as if I was wrong for pointing out the obvious. The truth be said 7-11, I would have enjoyed my experience a whole lot more with a vending machine or a self check out option vs. two morons disguised as clerks. What a shame!!! read more

A great pitstop. Always fresh coffee and a huge assortment of flavors. The staff is so friendly. The donuts fresh (my sons treat). Friday was free slurpee day. Last year they ran out of small cups and wouldn't let you use a larger one or even pay the difference, and people were pissed! It was crazy. They didn't handle it very well. I of course just bought them for the kids because who wanted to disappoint. So this year we stopped in, the line around the store, (and apparently the guy said that it is corporate that sends them the cups) and last year didn't send enough. Well, this year they had plenty. They even had a guy close to the front so no one cut and got angry, they blocked off around the slurpee machines and had a girl filling it for you to keep it from getting out of control. Who would of thought? Over a slurpee! Crazy. They handled it really well this year, every one was happy and they had a ton of happy customers and kids. read more

I often stop here in the morning on the way back to the office, when I do go the Kona blend coffee is always hot and fresh, and the staff of older ladies behind the counter have always greeted me with a warm smile. Only downside is the lines at the counter, but for good inexpensive coffee it's worth it. Warning though, the lot is small, so be careful backing out. read more

The cashier tried to add his cigarettes to my transaction and trick me into paying for them. I noticed it after I already put my card in the machine. I asked him what the extra charge is. He doesn't give me an answer, but instead apologizes and takes a pack of camels off the shelf, scans it and puts the money back on my card, apologizing the entire time. This couldn't have been an honest mistake, as there were no cigarettes on the counter to have accidentally scanned. My guess is that the pack that was scanned was the same pack the the cashier was smoking out front of the store when I pulled up. This was at 2:53 AM on 12/23. Watch the security video and tell me that guy didn't scan his cigarettes and wait for someone else to pay for them. And if you can't tell me that, then fire him. read more

My husband tried to buy cigarettes in this store but they refused to sale it to him even his Driver's license shows he is over 21. He brought his expired picture Driver's license with a temporary paper permit issued by DMV with a valid date, but the employee in this place still refused. This makes no sense. He has using his Driver's license with a temporary paper permit to purchase cigarettes at so many other 7/11 locations for over a month, and this location just denied a government issued ID. read more

Great 7- Eleven. Much better than most. They have kona blend coffee (my favorite) with all the fixings at a very affordable price. I've been going there for more than 3.5 years - the staff is always friendly and know me by name (makes me feel very special). A little late on this review as the instance happened months ago, but I have just signed up for Yelp and immediately remembered the awful treatment I received here as it has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a store. I entered this 711 after visiting the beach, and stopped mainly just to buy water and use the restroom before my drive home. I walked to the water section, grabbed a gallon then noticed a staff member standing next to me, she was larger and white with glasses and reddish or brown hair and a terrible attitude. I asked her if there was a restroom and she informed me it was next door. I put the gallon back on the shelf and decided to walk next door. As I'm out the door walking down the sidewalk the staff lady I spoke to came chasing after me, cussing at me, asking me where the gallon of water i stole was. I immediately turned around and threw up my clearly empty hands. I am 5'3 and very small so there is no way I would be able to hide a gallon of water, furthermore I am pretty normal looking and very nonthreatening so I have no idea why she would profile me as a thief. She refused to apologize for chasing me down and accusing me of stealing even after she realized I clearly hadn't. I felt very threatened and disrespected. Then, after using the restroom next door I went back to buy the water, and also ask for their mangers information. The response I got from the young african american cashier that clearly wasn't the manager was that she was the manager. OK. I expressed my concerns about being chased out of the store and accused of stealing to the "manager". She clearly was friends with the large woman employee that chased me down and all the employees were behind the counter chatting and laughing at me including the woman that accused me and chased me out of the store. She obliviously didn't care, and the employees behind the counter informed me that the "owners" were on vacation. OK. I thought about calling the owners to report this but no success. I have never been disrespected by an employee to this extent in my life!!! It was awful! The worst service I have received. And just on a humanity level, when you curse at someone for stealing and realize they are innocent you should AT LEAST APOLOGIZE. Nope. She continued to be rude. I hope these awful employees get fired. There is no way this business will remain if the employees continue to be that rude. If the employees don't get fired, this store deserves to go out of business. read more
