7 leaves is one of countless boba spots you'll find in the Irvine area, not to mention 1 of several spots you can get boba in the shopping center they're in alone. The drinks are what you would expect with Matcha milk teas, fruit teas, etc. The service is pretty straight forward. You walk up you order they ask you for a tip on the tablet you wait for your drink to be called. Although I will say with most Boba places only offering self order tablets, I should give them some credit for having to interact with their customers lol The ambience I will say is really nice. The interior is roomy with plenty of seating and outlets, ideal for people to come and hang out catch up with friends or even do some schoolwork or work. I feel this is another novelty nowadays because most Boba shops don't offer seating anymore and if they do, it's enough to fit only a handful of people. What really turned me off about 7 leaves is a recent experience with the launch of their new updated app. I'm sure countless people reading this review are aware of the free beverage promo you received once you updated your app. I thought that this was actually a really nice marketing move to get folks in their doors to try their drinks and increase visibility and traffic. However, they pulled the promo from the app prior to the expiration date listed. The app itself has all been glitchy, and the updated version was no better. To then be offered a promotion that they pulled off at their discretion just left a bad taste in my mouth. If you're in the area, looking for a boba spot that offers nice interior seating it's a good option. Otherwise you literally have so many other options within a couple miles. read more

First time to try their Taro Milk tea and I have to say this is probably one of the best I've ever had. It was actually made with fresh taro and did not have artificial color like most places. There were bits of fresh taro in it so you know you are drinking the real deal. I added honey boba and crystal boba which provided two different textures, both were really yummy. I asked for less sugar but it still tasted quite sweet, so definitely no need for more sugar. I ordered on the app, which was very easy and efficient. It was around 8:30 pm when we found it which is located in a very very busy shopping plaza. Parking took a few min to find but once we did smooth sailing from there. Inside was nice and clean, had tables to sit at. There was no line so we ordered quickly and staff was really nice. I was amazing by the speed on which we got our drinks. No sooner that we paid, our name was already called!! I got the Thai tea and adjusted the sweetness and ice level. It was decent, a solid Thai tea and my husband got the Vietnamese coffee which he enjoyed. I wish we lived closer so we can go back often but I will be back if I'm in the area. read more

I visited this location of 7 Leaves at the Diamond Jamboree late one morning while running some errands. This plaza is usually a challenge to park in but there were lots of spaces on this weekday morning. The interior is small and cramped with a handful of tables and a long window counter. I ordered a seasonal special - the Holiday House Coffee (iced) and a couple of macarons. I had to ask what flavors they had available as nothing was on display nor were the flavors posted. The kind fellow helping me took a look (in a cooler below the counter?) and let me know the 5 flavors they currently had and I picked two (vanilla and strawberry). My name was called very quickly so I picked my items up and sat at the window counter. Both macarons were very good but the strawberry one just tasted the same as the vanilla; the flavor was far too subtle. The Holiday House Coffee had a sweet cream and bits of peppermint in it. It was okay but I think it would be much better as a hot coffee drink rather than iced (my mistake!). The cup was filled to the brim with ice, leaving little room for the actual coffee plus I think a hot drink would have allowed the flavor of peppermint to blossom more. The Jasmine milk tea was a bit watered down for my taste, but it was still good. And, you can't go wrong with 7 Leaves Thai Tea. I took 1 star away because of all the students sitting inside studying... There was no seat open for actual customers who just wanted to get a cup of boba and talk. I love me a good cup of 7 leaves. Every time I go there the drinks are very consistent. That's one of the reasons why I keep coming back because I know what to expect. I have been obsessing over their Brazilian lemonade. Which should be called Brazilian limeade. However it is delicious. And if you haven't tried it, you should. The service was good. Everybody was very helpful. One of the things I didn't like was the layout of the café. It is a smaller café with two doors and so it was just confusing on how to line up, especially when it got busy. But overall, it's still one of my favorite Boba places. read more

Stopped by for the first time and was impressed by the wide selection of drinks. I'm not typically a milk tea fan, but I wanted to see what this place had to offer. I ordered the Sunset Passion, while my husband chose the Taro milk tea. I was pleasantly surprised--my drink was refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. Parking can be extremely difficult here depending on what time of day you come. In the early morning, parking is a breeze. In the evenings/night it gets packed! The inside is pretty small with limited seating. Many students come here to study or do homework. The service has always been super friendly each time I've come. My go to is either the House Coffee or Green Thai Tea. House Coffee 9/10 - The perfect pick me up in the morning. I sometimes stop by and get one on my way to work if I really need the caffeine. The coffee is very strong, but the cream adds a sweet and hazelnut flavor. Overall on the sweeter side but I prefer it that way. Definitely keeps me awake! Green Thai Tea 9/10 - Probably my go to drink a majority of the time. Drink is pretty sweet with nice floral notes. I do get it easy sweet and for someone who prefers sweet drinks I think this is the perfect adjustment. Best green thai tea I can find aside from Seaside, which nowadays is not worth going to due to how long the lines can be. This one is a good alternative! read more

My usual go to and it never disappoints. 4/10 Boba- Ugh everytime I always get 7Leaves boba they suck! There were a handful of soft bobas initially drinking it but within minutes they were getting hard and dense in the middle. After getting our drinks, we just wanted to get out of there, I ended up needing to go back in for a thinner straw and upon asking her for one, she gave me the DIRTIEST LOOK, rolled her eyes and handed me one. My drink was made so fast, all of my adjustments were missed. How might this happen you ask? An overly eager barista hears an order and prepares the drink without listening to the entire order and before the transaction is complete. The drink has a roasted, malty, almost chocolate-y taste with a very creamy mouthfeel and is not at all bitter. The flavor of each drink is also very consistent between locations. If you generally like less sweet drinks, though, 7 Leaves drinks will likely be too sweet. Other drinks: 0.5/1. My mom and husband like the Mung Bean Milk Tea, although it definitely needs to be easy sweet. My friends love the coffee drinks, especially the House Coffee and its seasonal variations. Drinks tend to be consistent in flavor between locations, but all drinks can verge on too sweet. Ambiance: 0.5/1. This location has limited seating but can be a nice place to work if you snag a table. Keep in mind that Diamond Jamboree gets really busy especially on evenings and weekends, so parking can be a challenge at times. Service: 1/1. I ordered the Sea Cream Black Coffee, and it tasted just like how I imagined it would taste: Perfect amount of coffee/caffeine, and the right amount of sea salt - and not to mention the sea salt being blended with the whipped cream has the right taste, and did not taste too salty nor bland. I thought of putting in some Boba since it's been a while since I had some (yes, I know, Boba at 10:30 in the morning may sound weird, but hey, it's Friday, so might as well.
