It was so good I actually cried a little. Living on the Big Island, everything was so far, and I couldn't satisfy my cravings easily -- so finally having a real plate lunch felt like comfort and home all at once. I hadn't been back since, mostly because they don't have a set schedule, and whenever they were close by, Bubba would be napping or I'd find out too late. But today, I finally got to go again -- and this time I brought Bubba. And she remembered me. "Weren't you pregnant last time?" she said. Such a small thing, but honestly an amazing memory and such a warm customer experience. Bubba and I had a little sidewalk picnic together. He tried fried noodles for the first time, loved the teri beef, and of course devoured the rice -- his forever favorite. I saved half the plate for my boyfriend since he's working. It also came with gochujang on the side, which I appreciated since my daughter can't eat spicy. My husband says the Kalbi plate was very good. It had a hint of sweetness and didn't feel dry. The kimchi pancakes had a nice crisp and and it was tasty. Next time, we will have to try the seafood pancake from there. Our go to is the poke nachos, half spicy/half kamikaze. They make their own wonton chips, cover that with 1lb of the freshest poke, then load the top with special sauces, drizzles, and garnishes. The lunchwagon comes out maybe every other day around after school hours (2pm until sold out) but I always go to their instagram @poke_on_da_run for updates. There is always a line so be prepared to wait and give a little extra patience as they are working hard to serve everybody. CASH ONLY so come prepared.
