    Ttekboki starter plate
    Matt L.

Favorite dish that I must get again: the shrimp shawarma. That flavor has the power of shawarma spices, but has its own seasoning blend to make it taste uniquely Korean. Even when the shrimp skewers were done, I wanted to go in and slather that sauce on everything I had. The ttekbokki is probably their biggest starter dish, so if you're looking for something a little bit more carby to make the meal a little fuller, go for this cheesy skillet. The entrees were good as well. The mushrooms were a flavor bomb of umami and just so meaty and juicy, pairing well with the scallops. But nothing Service was really delightful. The person who helped us had great attention to detail, recommended dishes to make sure that we had appropriate portions to share between the both of us, and was considerate of our wait time/any inconvenience that occurred. Our total bill came out to be ~$200, including tip. Was the food good? Yes. Would I go again paying that price tag? No.

8282 had always been on my list to try, and I was finally able to go last week, and it definitely did not disappoint! They have a pretty decent sized space with some tables, and bar seating as well. Located in the heart of lower east side, 8282 is a great place to start the night before you go bar hopping (which is what we did). I definitely recommend making a reservation to eat here. There is a cancellation/no show fee, but they get pretty full quickly. They were super accommodating when I called to adjust my reservation from 3 to 4 people, and had set aside seats at the bar for us instead. Seating time is also 2 hours max, and you don't need to have the full party there to be seated. Alex was our bartender and waiter, and he was the best. He gave me and my friends free shots, was super friendly throughout the night, and all in all made it a fun night! The yuzu matcha magic cocktail was so good, and whatever magic shot Alex whipped up was delicious. The food was spectacular. We were hungry, so we ordered 5 dishes, and they were all hits. My favorite was definitely the beef tartare, it was savory and flavorful, yet somehow refreshing at the same time. The jjajang bori-bap and 8282 steak also got snatched up quickly among us. If I ever go back, I'd actually consider doing their pre-fixe menu instead, so you can try way more dishes! All in all, I'll definitely be back. Another friend of mine also visited a couple days ago and also loved their food. 8282 you will be seeing me again!!

I've walked past this restaurant so many times and finally made a reservation and I'm glad I did. The service was absolutely wonderful everyone was friendly and when my food was ready who ever was available brought it over and explained the dish so I got to meet everyone and got my food fast. I was sat at the bar which was fun to be able to watch the drinks get made. I got the beet salad, scallops and the shrimp ikura. The beet salad was the best beet salad I ever had and definitely want to return for that, the scallops were so delicious and everything blended well and the shrimp ikura was fresh and a really great amount I left full. The yuzu matcha magic was absolutely magic best cocktail ever. Loved the restaurant and service. 2nd visit was absolutely another 5 star visit. I had to get the beet salad again which was just as delicious as the first time, this time I did the pre fix I got the octopus, the miso cod and the panna cotta and wow everything was perfect the flavors were on point the octopus has a lovely char and the burrata helped balance the spice the miso wow the mushroom sauce and it was tender with the glaze honestly chefs kiss the noodles were refreshing and the panna cotta definitely a favorite. Service at the bar was absolutely wonderful friendly fast the drinks were on point and I was even given a lovely lime shot. Definitely my favorite spot and can't wait to go back and try the other items.

Came here with my husband for a date night and left here pretty disappointed. Here's everything that we tried: Ebi ikura uni tartare It looked amazing and I was really excited to try it. While the portion on the uni and ebi were pretty generous, everything was kinda tasteless? Not sure why but I just couldn't taste anything but sesame oil Cheesy Tteok-bokki It just tasted okay. The chicken was cut too small to find in a pool of sauce. The rice cake was also too soft for my liking 8282 steak Worst dish out of everything that we tried. It was too salty and sweet Grilled lamp chops It was also only okay. I really liked the mint perilla puree though Bibim guksu It was part of the pre fixe menu. Probably my favorite dish out of everything. The yuzu dressing was very refreshing Yuzu panna cotta Also only okay. It's not too sweet at least! Overall, my experience here was really just okay. Presentation of the food looked great but it really just tasted mediocre. I also found it weird that they didn't ask how we like our steak and lamb cooked. They were both medium well. The restaurant was also kinda cramped and it was very loud. Don't think I'll come back again.

So so good. I've been meaning to try this place for months and finally got the chance to The plates look small but it catches you off guard and makes you full. The uni dish had rice under it, unbeknownst to us. It was so fresh and creamy, you have to get it The clams were good but what made this my favorite dish was the fact that there were some thick noodles attached. It's so flavorful- another must have. The jjang had juicy big scallops but I was never a fan of black bean sauce- still good butI'd pass on this next time. The perilla oil pasta was another surprise. It's light and the flavors were like nothing i've had before. I'd recommend this dish as well We got the melon drink, and the waiter was kind enough to give us free shots and a lychee drink as well. So nice!!!!

Walk in on a drizzly Saturday. Seated right away at the bar. Started with gochuchang margarita. Bit on the sweet side but tasty. Moved on top "chirashi" Korean style with ikura, uni and ebi. Seaweed toasts were crispy and paired well with all seafood. This was my favorite dish. Next came scallops. I was expecting larger u12 but these were also good. Surprisingly they had no color. Rice with shrimp and squid ink was good but was a touch sweet . Everything could have used acid. Last came out clams. Tasty but again a bit too sweet !!

Came here because there was a reservation opening at 5:30pm. This spot usually has a line. The restaurant is kinda small and packed. Has good vibes for dates and small groups. They also have bar seats. The waiter we had was very attentive. Food here was average 4/5. The dessert were 5/5. Overall good experience.

We went there during restaurant week. It was really good and service. The place is really small so I would recommend getting a reservation in advance. The food and portions were good. We took the dinner restaurant week menu and I ordered a cocktail as well ( with Gochujang ! Delish!) The wagyu meat balls were very juicy; the miso glazed cod was tasty. We also got a special squid appetizer which was amazing

Excellent Korean tapas. Highly recommend - tuna tartare, octopus, steak, perilla oil pasta Recommend - scallops, galbi kimchi Okay - shrimp Friendly staff. Mostly small tables of 2-4 but maybe possible to put a few together for slightly bigger table.

We are 8282 regulars for birthday dinners! Small intimate vibes with a great playlist all night! Their rotating drink menu is always intriguing and the staple dinner items are very solid! Cocktails: 5/5 White Rabbit 4.7/5 TQP 4.5/5 Yuzu Matcha Magic We tried some newer interesting menu items that unfortunately needed some work on the execution standpoint. 4.5/5 Lemon Sole -- fish was cooked perfectly, tender and flaky. Tomato based sauce was lovely, missing the hint of lemon though. 4/5 Gochujang Butter Chicken -- not particularly reminiscent of butter chicken, maybe similar to a Southeast curry vibe, but tasty. 3/5 Pork Wellington -- the one menu item we really couldnt get behind. Waited 30mins for this dish to come out, and the puff pastry was raw and stodgy still. Flavor profile was like a classic side at Thanksgiving, heavy on the sweet potato and apple. Redeemingly quality was that the pork was exceedingly tender. The menu items I stand by: 5/5 Chawanmushi -- very umami, generous seafood! 4.5/5 Clam sujebi -- lovely mesty clams, chewy sujebi, a bit of a citrus kick from the broth! 5/5 Scallop Boribap -- perfectly cooked scallop, usually not a fan of barley but this was done so well. 5/5 Dakgalbi Kimchibap -- so rich and flavorful! 4/5 Perilla Pasta -- brazino was great, pasta sauce was a bit watery for my preference. (complimentary) Birthday Shots 1st visit: coffee liquour, banana liquour, oatmilk! Most recent visit: chestnut makgeolli Thank you to our waiter for these off menu shots!

I'd recommend 8282 for a fun date night. We had a reservation on a Saturday just when they opened, so although the space is small, it didn't feel cramped. We got to pick a corner table at the window, which added to the cost vibe. We chose the KFC and clams for appetizers and shared the steak. Both appetizers were very good, and the clams had a few noodles in the broth - unexpected, but nice, and that made the dish more unique. But the real star of the show was the steak. It was the first time I had hanger steak, and it is now my new favorite cut: very flavorful and tender, and complimented beautifully by the ultra-smooth sweet potato mash and pesto on the side. Although we were pretty stuffed, we couldn't help but order dessert. We got the yuzu panna cotta and the choco ooyoo pie. The pie was pretty good, but a little bland in flavor; both the chocolate and the pistachio were quite mild. On the other hand, the panna cotta packed a huge punch! If you like sour flavors, this is the dessert for you. We loved it. They have a short N/A cocktail list, and I ordered a last summer spritz which was very good. Like the panna cotta, the yuzu-matcha combination was refreshing and nicely earthy. All in all, 8282 is worth a trip, especially for their steak and panna cotta.

We came here during restaurant week and the first thing that greeted me was the boisterous energy inside. I loved the feeling and the vibes reminded me of the pojangmacha in Korea. I really enjoyed the food overall with the cooked fish leaving me wanting more. I wished the interior matched the vibe more, but overall would definitely check it out again. I'm not sure how different the experience will be though in a regular setting since I went during restaurant week.

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. Nothing felt greasy, heavy or too salty. The flavors were balanced and very comforting. We ordered the pork bossam, kimchi pancake, and chicken kalguksu. The pork was tender and had a clean flavor that really let the quality of the meat come out. The kimchi pancake was topped with a poached egg which was interesting.... Personally, the poached egg addition wasn't really for me, but my friend loved it. The pancake itself was crispy flavorful. The chicken kalguksu was exactly what I want when I'm craving comforting and warm food at 11 PM after watching a musical. The broth was light but flavorful, and the noodles had a good chew. We got the large beef combination platter which comes with ribeye, thin skirt, brisket, marinated kalbi, and marinated chuck flap. Most people stuck with water, while a couple got ginger ale. I ordered the soju flight but I ended up not liking it so my cousins shared it. The meal comes with different veggies as well as your choice of soup. We got the spicy tofu and split it 6 ways. The spice lived up to its name, so I didn't eat very much. The best part was meat. Despite there being 6 of us, there was plenty to go around. I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

We walked into a stylish but relaxed space that feels suited for both casual dinners and a night out with friends, with an atmosphere that balances energy and comfort well. The room gets lively when it fills up, but the noise level adds to the experience rather than detracting from it, making it feel like a place built for sharing and conversation. The food is where Hojokban stands out. The complimentary banchan sets the tone for the meal with flavorful sides that add variety before the main dishes arrive, each one thoughtfully prepared and offering a different texture or flavor profile. The gomtang soup is one of the more comforting options, bringing together tender meat, a rich broth, and classic Korean flavors in a way that feels hearty without being overly heavy. The galbi dishes are also a highlight, with the meat cooked well and carrying the sweet and savory balance that makes Korean-style grilled beef so enjoyable. The portions are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is noticeable across the board. The menu has several unique dishes worth exploring. The truffle potato pancake is one of the more memorable items, combining a familiar Korean staple with a richer, modern twist that adds depth without losing the essence of the original. The perilla oil noodles are another standout, offering a lighter but still flavorful option with a distinct nutty aroma that lingers on the palate. The beef tartare adds a more refined element to the meal, fresh and well seasoned, while dishes like the ramyun fried rice bring a fun comfort food element with bold, savory flavors. Together, the menu covers enough ground that you can build a meal around both familiar favorites and more creative choices. Service is friendly and the overall experience feels welcoming rather than overly formal. The staff are attentive without hovering, and they handle the busy flow of the restaurant with a pace that keeps the meal moving without feeling rushed. The menu is designed for sharing, and the portions make it easy to order several dishes across the table, allowing you to try more of what the kitchen has to offer. The lively atmosphere adds to the meal, making it a good fit for group dinners where the energy of the room matches the pace of the food. Hojokban does a good job blending traditional Korean flavors with a more modern dining experience. It is a place where you can come for familiar comfort food while still finding dishes that feel creative and different. If you enjoy Korean cuisine and want a restaurant with a little more personality, this is a spot worth checking out. The servers kept things moving but with very minimal interference and no extra visits; we would have liked a little more attention when we finished some of the banchan and kind of expected they would be replenished, but we certainly were fine without it. And the entrees were delicious and even with other tables almost on top of each other it never felt crowded due to partitions that I saw them remove for some larger groups needing tables "together", and I never felt part of someone else's dinner convo. Presentation was amazing and food was delicious - Soon Tofu Soup with seafood for me, which arrived bubbling like a cauldron. It came with a raw egg that you crack into the soup and let it cook to your level of doneness. Hubs got hot stone bibimbap and as we all know the crispy rice is the best part of it... it's just tough to separate it from the actual stone dish so you can eat it, especially if you wait until it cools and fuses. If I was there with more stomach space I wanted to try the galbi, and in fact there's a weekday lunch combo that could facilitate that.

The Ssambap Set was incredibly satisfying. The beef was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the fresh lettuce wraps, rice, banchan, and soup. Every bite was well-balanced and packed with flavor. We also ordered the Mixed Katsu Set, which was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and cooked to perfection. It came with generous portions and made for a comforting, filling meal. The restaurant has a modern and welcoming atmosphere, the staff was friendly and attentive, and everything arrived fresh and beautifully presented. If you're looking for a delicious Korean lunch in NYC's Koreatown, Jeong Yuk Jeom is definitely worth a visit. I'll be coming back to try more of their menu!

The galbi-jjim was perfectly tender like I could literally pull it apart with my chopstick. The addition of the rice cake, pumpkin, and pyogo mushroom were a nice touch. The soy sauce base was a little sweet and if you take a bit and pour it over the mushroom sotbap, it is soooooooo good!!!!!!! The mushroom sotbap is so umami. There is foie gras in it which maybe be in a little overpowering for some people but I really enjoyed it I could easily eat a whole bowl of their freshly made kimchi. It was perfect. Not too salty or spicy or fermented. Literally perfect!!! I actually asked for seconds. The cold cucumber broth was really refreshing Highly, highly recommend making a resy!! There's a main dining room and a mezzanine. I sat at the mezz and got an amazing view of the main dining room. Service here is amazing. The only thing that I thought was a bit of a shame is that there's a $10 cake cutting service PER PERSON, if you wanted to celebrate a birthday. We got their fried chicken, beef tartare, 2 galbi jjim, and their bossam. Everything was phenomenal. While I think we could've skipped the chicken, the galbi jjim is a must-try. Cocktails are also great here. Amazing dining experience, food, ambiance, service, and I highly recommend.
