Family's been going to this location since before it was Brick (shoutout to the Railroad Cafe). It was good for a while but after pandemic things haven't been the same. The good: - The atmosphere (cool decor, friendly regulars) - The food (nothing crazy here, just what you want from a cozy little breakfast spot) The bad: - The prices (they're not awful, but it's more expensive than similar places; they have gotten worse since pandemic, however) - Sneak charges (had an already price-hiked tab jacked up another $4 for "add ham"; we have never added ham to any of our orders) Long story short, we've recently stopped coming here. Went today for the 1st time always looking for new breakfast spots and the food was good not great. The restaurant itself is older but appears to be kept up, service was good, it was slow only 1 server amd about 4 tables being served. I had the French Toast combo with bacon, French toast was fine.nothing special eggs were a little under cooked but not bad but the bacon was excellent, thick cut good flavor would have again. Large portions of pretty tasty food, but the service lowers the star rating. My first time here; went with friends for lunch. First impression is that the business decor was done fairly well to make this is comfortable, friendly place. there is a bar in the middle area which was okay, but felt a little misplaced in this "country restaurant" vibe. I do not get the changing LED lights under the bar. That doesn't fit in anywhere. And there there is the paperwork and tape dispenser out in plain sight by the place to wait for seating (no host podium, just sitting right there) and the case register. Gives feel of less organized and professional place from the start. Walking in it was hard to see any waitstaff or hostess in site. Really had to walk into the main floor to see if anyone was working here and could help us get seating (as the sign directed). Over time, I could see that two people were working the tables today well, especially the waitress. Wish I had her name. She and the other waiter were working hard and smiling. She checked in on us and patient as we were talking and hadn't yet looked at the menu. She was great. there was one young man there that really never smiled and as we asked for help to order now, he walked within two feet of us and just kept staring ahead. I watched him a lot this whole visit. He was not engaged with customer service or any happiness today. Even when he did hear us on the second run, he never verbalized, smiled or any other acknowledgement of the request. And he was directly looking into my friends eyes and listening. The food was plentiful and pretty good. I enjoyed my veggie scramble, country potatoes, and English muffin (good amount of butter) a lot. My friends order lunch salads and sandwiches which were fresh and received high praise from them. I will go again because the food was so good. read more

This spot is an absolute treasure!! The interior is so homey and well decorated. It definitely gives off a country vibe with a touch of unique jazz from the owners! You can tell that there is a lot of effort put into making the place beautiful and charismatic!! The food is SO delicious. Out of four entrees we ordered, each one impressed!! The french toast was buttery, lightly crispy yet moist. I could tell the berries were clearly fresh and so sweet. As a cherry on top, the whipped cream is freshly made IN HOUSE! Subtle vanilla notes. Perfect with the toast. The Garden eggs benedict was perfect in sauce and toast ratio. The vegetables were well seasoned and paired everything so well (especially the spinach!!). Definitely recommend!!! The California omelette was probably one of the best omelettes I've ever had. The egg was so thick and fluffy. Packed with tons of vegetables and bacon!! They were also generous with the avocado!!! Totally impressed by this dish. There is seriously so much effort put into every dish here. Though the front doors are dirty and grimy, the eclectic decor is fun and free of dust. Servers working hard to make up for the absence of management. The food is mediocre at best and in need of updating. Salads are boring, limp, room temperature, and served on room temperature plates. I have purchased better salads at fast food chains. read more

Hidden gem in the area. Great diner and breakfast dishes that hearty and are large portioned with great flavors. The cheese on my omlette and the sauce really stood out. The hash browns were nearly perfect. They even gave us whipped butter. Meat lovers omlette was jammed packed with ham, cheese, and bacon. Had this with roast vegetables, a great low carb lunch. Can't get any better than this. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and they even had TVs for sports. They gave us a cup of coffee temporarily while brewing a fresh pot. When pot was finished, they gave us a fresh cup. Few places will make such a great effort to provide their best for customers. Just can't say enough good things about this place. I drive by here a lot and figured since outdoor dining is open again I'd try it out. It's a swing and a miss. Burger was supposed to be "cook to order". Or in my case, just well done (not what I asked for). When we went to pay I could see the cooks had no masks on. Perhaps it was cuz they were just cleaning; but it makes you wonder if they bother wearing them when they cook as well. Our server was good in the beginning, but towards the end he just went on a smoke break and never returned. We just went inside to pay since he never came back. Food...mediocre. We really wanted to like this place, but it fell quite short. I had the chicken and waffle, it was not fantastic at all. The waffle was not crisp, just a very blonde and soft. The chicken was a couple tenders, that was cut in half. My wife had the Chiliquilles, and they were FAR from authentic. Not sure what they were thinking, but definitely not something expected when ordering a Mexican breakfast dish. The service was good enough, and all the servers were pleasant. The new owners nicely changed the interior to match their tastes from the previous Old Railroad Cafe. The menu has enough choices to satisfy most. The restaurant style seems to have gone from a country feel to a western style. We split the chilaquiles and the eggs with linguica. The chilaquiles came with house-made chips. The flavors all worked together and were acceptably prepared. Kitchen execution was just average and rated below the friendly service we had with the staff. I guess to the kitchen poached soft means the eggs are not runny and linguica needs to be cooked so it looks shriveled on the outside. The house-made chips were soggy. All in all the experience was good. If you live in Livermore and need a breakfast/brunch place give them a try. read more

I went here once with my daughter for lunch a few months Ago. It was terrible and I swore I'd never return. My wife and I went back for breakfast yesterday, I don't know why but we did. My meat lover omelette was very good, with a generous helping of fruit. My wife's Brick burger was juicy and tasty, and her onion rings were great. The staff was working hard for this busy morning. We had a group of 11 that wanted to have breakfast in Livermore before we did some wine tasting. I noticed that this restaurant takes reservations so I called and talked to Jean. She said they normally don't take reservations on the weekend, but she took ours and we really appreciated that! The table was all ready for us when we got there. This was my first visit and I will definitely be back. Maybe with a smaller group though. I came here with my friends (group of 6) and we called ahead of time and we were able to put our names down which was great. Many brunch places don't allow that. The serves and workers were really nice, but a little slow. It might have been during the end of their shift or my friends were just being difficult, but I thought they were fine. We ordered a round of Peach Mimosas which were great! Our server made them a little stronger than usual which we loved. I ordered the California Omelette (avocado, bell pepper, mushrooms, tomato, green onion, jack cheese, and sour cheese) with hash browns and wheat toast. This dish was really yummy. It was full of flavor and well seasoned fillings. I was surprised how small of a portion of hash browns though. Usually when you get hash browns with your food there is a lot, but this was really small. Overall I had a good experience in a really cool restaurant. The decor had a lot of exposed brick, industrial elements, and an awesome wine cork art display shaped as the United States. Can't wait to go back again, especially because they have a full bar. I'm doing low carb so switched out the potatoes for roasted vegetables but did have the sour dough toast! I managed to get halfway through and took the rest home. We went mid-morning on a Saturday and there was a steady stream of people coming in. They have large screens and a bar area so I might go one evening and check it out for dinner. read more
