I loved the strawberry matcha! I got it with oat milk and added aloe vera. It wasn't too sweet and the flavors were delicious! I will definitely be ordering this again!!

Got in just ahead of a long line of people. I had dental work this week and I'm just eating mushy food... So it was time to switch from mashed potatoes... to every soft sweet creamy thing here! Little cheese tarts: small discs in the refrigerated case, 10 of them for five dollars. Super tasty. They are like Montreal cheese bagel filling. #IYKYK tiramisu cheesecake. Super creamy, and at five dollars, cheaper than le Parfait or even Ralphs. I approve. I also got their coconut mango smoothie, which has some Boba in it, as a variation on the Jamba Juice smoothies I've been having all week. Not as healthy and full of sugar, but it was tasty. I still have a chocolate mousse cake to taste tomorrow. Looking forward to having more solid food soon, but in the meantime my soft creamy desserts from here were pretty darn delicious.

85 DEGREE BAKERY @ UTC Always a great time coming to 85 degree bakery right in UTC. Lines are long and they wrap around outside. The place is TINY, like it's so small, i hope they decide to renovate the place. The items are pretty delicious, they don't have as much as other locations, but their bakery items are still good. I recommend any of the savoury ones. Their boba is also pretty good and fairly cheap at around $5 a drink. Parking is at the public parking lot, it's 2 hour for free! Highly recommend stopping by. This store is located by the Trolley.

It's always fun to walk in to see what breads are available that day/hour! I love how there's so many varieties (especially in sweet tasting breads) and love how fast the service is! My favorite is always any bread that has a sausage in it.

Located at the La Jolla Mall, this spot is small and clean. The employees were friendly, and all the pastries looked delicious.

Bakery wise, the bread here is solid. Extremely good when you get it fresh. Often times they are just sitting out so it is a pick and grab. They have bread, cakes, coffee, and slushes. All of which tastes pretty good. The service could be improved, when they are busy the line moves extremely slow. Especially if you order a drink, you will be waiting for quite a bit. The bakery itself is small making it hard to move around when others are inside, there is no seating inside so you will have to find somewhere else in the mall to sit. Overall, the food is good. The problem is it's a confined space with little room to move when busy. The wait time will take a while. Additionally if you go towards the end of the day, not much bread is left to take (your options are limited).

I'm so glad to see 85°C Bakery Cafe at UTC La Jolla Village Mall! While this spot is a bit smaller than other locations, they still have a great selection of all the fresh breads I love. I came here specifically for the marble taro bread, which is one of my favorites, and paired it with a milk tea boba--both were delicious! The employees are super nice, and the shop is always clean and well-maintained. If you're in the area and looking for some tasty baked goods and drinks, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Went in for the first while i was Christmas shopping. It was nice to see how accessible all the different bakery items were! I decided to grab a cream cheese jalapeño bread. It was soooo good!! It was a nice surprise to taste jalapeños in the cream cheese as well as the bread! I also got a strawberry matcha. It was super yummy!! The cashier was nice letting me know i could go up or down on the sweetness of the drink. I told him the sweeter the better for me !! Haha. I would definitely recommend!!

Reviews here assert they have been open for a while, banner out front said "grand opening" so I'm unsure if there was a management/ownership change or that has been up for a while. Place was incredibly clean and staff were very friendly, I would definitely come back again. Some observations and constructive feedback: the menu (both physical on table and QR code for digital) has a lot of ambiguity that staff couldn't easily answer. For instance: "daily mimosa specials" (you had me at mimosa) but I asked my waitress who asked someone else what kind of mimosas (a lot of back-and-forth to see if we had regular OJ for that). I can't tell you how much I paid but it was delicious. I asked what fruit came in the "fruit bowl", the answer I got was helpful (banana, blueberry, strawberry, there was surprise melon) but here on yelp it claims to be a parfait, after I ordered the waitress told me it had yogurt and granola (sure why not), what arrived was fruit with granola on top (I would have skipped the granola). A fruit cup or a side of fruit would be a welcome addition to whatever is supposed to be in that, but it was tasty and I ate it. The grilled banana bread (sigh): something I've baked a million times and enjoy many different ways, had a lot of streusel mixed-in and on top - it was good but the streusel diminished it, too much of of a good think maybe. The honey butter on side was a little thick to spread but good, the strawberry jam was great but never something I'd spread on banana bread. I would have put it on my sourdough toast that came with the omelette, but that came without the toast. Let's discuss the omelette which tasted great, back to my menu confusion, it says "BYO omelette with 3 fillings" and lists no fillings, so I had to ask, and was told "just about anything you could imagine". A list would have been helpful. I went with cheedar, bacon, and peppers - my go-to is a greek (spinach, tomato, feta) I don't know if they had spinach or tomato but no feta so I didn't ask. The omelette comes with potatoes or slaw, I didn't want potatoes so I chose slaw, after ordering they were out of that so I chose spring mix, then was told that was not an option. A side of fruit (for less than the $12 I think I paid for that) would have hit the spot but I told them I had already ordered plenty and the omelette was fine solo, expecting it to come with the sourdough toast. Again: the food and service were good, I will definitely be back, but I think the menu could be clearer or the kitchen could either limit people's choices (eg we have these 4 kinds of omelets) or post ingredients/options on the wall (chalkboard like the one out front?) if they change frequently.

The staff is friendly, anything you buy looks gorgeous and the inside is immaculate. Ambience 9/10 Lunar New Year Croissant Described as a croissant filled with sesame and almond paste, this is a good but not great croissant. It has the layers, it has the chew, but it's no better than a croissant you would get at a number of other bakeries in the area. But those other bakeries are charging $4-7 instead of $10! The almond and sesame flavors were both very subtle and make me believe there is just a very minimal amount used in the recipe. Would not recommend even as a chewy over crispy croissant guy. 5/10 Creme brûlée latte Pretty much what I wanted without description. Creamy, noticeable but not overpowering vanilla flavor, and a lovely burnt topping for bitter balance. The coffee still comes through meaning this is a well crafted latte, not a dessert. This one actually comes at a pretty decent price too. 8/10 Yuzu & lime tart Their take on meringue pie is composed of a graham crust, yuzu mousse, and a meringue topper with a circle of lemon curd gel. To my taste, there is too much sweet on this plate, needing some balance of tart. But the textures of each component were on point: fluffy meringue, thick lemon gel, dense crust, and substantial yet airy mousse. Torching the meringue at home added a bitter element which I think made the sweetness more palatable. Would have liked the citrus to be more present. 5/10. All in all I would choose other sweets shops at most shopping centers than return here but for drinks this is a pretty good option.
