    Chocolate Tart
    Joyce L.

I tend to prefer my desserts on the lighter side, so this global French-Asian bakery chain originating in South Korea is right up my alley! The ganache in the Chocolate Tart dusted with cocoa powder is nicely balanced and not too sweet, but the shell could be a bit more short and crumbly.

Wow, everything I have ever eaten from here is so amazing. Their cakes, donuts, and savory pastries, all so delicious. Also this cakes are not too sweet which is my preference. I had the fruit cake and I had other people say the cake wasn't moist enough but honestly I liked the texture and consistency it had. I also love that the donuts, they are filled with a whip cream mixture, so it was nice and light. The ube cream filled donut has to be my favorite flavor they offer. My favorite savory pastry they offer is the garlic cream cheese bread! The bread has such a nice garlic flavor that compliments the lightly sweet cream cheese. It is the perfect sweet and salty combo. Highly recommend. This is one of my favorite place to go when someone in the office has a birthday, everyone enjoys it and looks forward to it. The staff are always so wonderful and helpful.

Tous Les Jours in La Jolla is a trendy Asian bakery with a French-inspired twist located right next to UCSD. Around midday, a few students were hanging out on the small patio, likely taking advantage of the Wi-Fi. The shop was bright, clean, and had a relaxed, slightly busy but not crowded vibe. I decided to go with their signature Cloud Cake and asked to add extra fruit on top, which they were happy to do. The cake was ready within minutes, neatly packed in a sleek, sturdy box. Service was quick and friendly, which I always appreciate. The cake itself was light and fluffy, topped with strawberries, grapes, and mixed berries. The cream layers were rich but well-balanced by the tartness of the fruit. The kids loved it.

Came back the week or two after for some more goodies. Absolutely love the egg tarts here and the cakes are really consistently good. I really like trying the different savory items that they have but I also definitely pick up a lot of sweets too. In general, you really still can't go wrong with getting just about anything from here. Service is nice and all the staff are great. Shop has little inside seating but a lot of outside seating so this is a perfect meeting spot.

Been here a couple times. The cream donuts are the best, filled with so much cream unlike Sunmerry bakery. The pistachio matcha cloud is great too (75% sugar). The place is modern with indoor and outdoor seating. Customer service is always friendly and accommodating.

Location is clean and right next to the trolley. A perfect place for students and anyone commuting to grab a drink and pastry to fuel their day. This location was clean, well lit and the staff was attentive. The salt bread has a perfect nice and crunchy bottom and if you enjoy just a good piece of buttery bread, that is a must try. Docking a star because I felt it so strange to have religious notes throughout the store. I don't go to bakeries for that.

This is one of my family's go-to spots when we're in the area and craving pastries. I love how they have so many options to choose from -- from savory pastries, to sweet ones, and unique seasonal options, this spot will have something for everyone in your party. They also have a pretty good variety of drinks to go with your selection. The tiramisu latte was really good -- it was sweet without being overly sweet. The strawberry matcha was good too, I tasted more strawberry than the matcha though. The customer service is great too. They are very efficient, and nice. There is some seating inside and outside, and parking is easy!

So many options. Very clean and organized. Service was very fast and super friendly. I had a savory and sweet pastry. Both were delicious!!! Also had a cappuccino that was great as well. Definitely recommend trying it... warning, it's going to be hard to just pick one item. You grab a tray and some tongs and start loading up options. They wrap/box everything up very nicely for you. They had a decent amount of seats inside and outside. Probably not great for a large group. Plenty of free parking.

hello kitty cake sample and jalapeño cheese croissant

this is one of the most conflicting reviews I will ever write. The good- I got the jalapeño cheese croissant and will say it's pretty good. Service was great, had the croissant warmed to enjoy. Also tried their hello kitty cake sample, was light and fluffy but just a tad bit too sweet. The cafe itself is very clean and had a nice outdoor patio. The bad- I got a complimentary green tea macaron for signing up for their rewards programs and I will say it is the one of the most visceral things I've put in my mouth. It tasted like fridge. The filling had green tea flavor but was way too sweet for the flavor to fully come through. There is still a bad fridge aftertaste as I'm writing this.

This is my ultimate favorite pastry spot in all of San diego! I love love this place. Whenever I want a light but savory breakfast I order from this place. They're delivery is pretty quick and travels well! My husband and I usually order a variety of pastries to share so we can get a little bit of everything! Few of my favorites are the cream cheese garlic bread, the side and spinach croissant, and the mushroom and onion pastry. But honestly you can't go wrong, everything is so freshly baked! Highly recommend this place if you have yet to go, it is definitely in game changer for bakeries!

The phone staff is super friendly here! Every time I call they are helpful and so nice. We ordered a 10 inch Cloud cake for a whopping $95 online. They often have special promo codes when you order online ($6 off $40 for example). The online prices matched in store prices when we placed this order . This LJ location is modern and warm. It seemed to be mostly college students taking up most of the indoor seats and part of the front patio seating (all on their laptops). There was only one cashier taking orders. There wasn't an area for pick up orders. So the line was a bit confusing. The bakery items didn't seem appealing as my sister picked up a few items the week before and didn't enjoy them. I am not sure if the items are made fresh or pre frozen and baked in house. The cake is really pricey at $95. But you can absolutely TASTE the freshness of the strawberries and whipped cream. Sis said the price was similar to Lady M's cakes while I compared the price to Extraordinary Desserts. The Cloud Cake here is special as it's not too sweet and the sponge cake is light and airy. They also give you complimentary candles which was a bonus. I'd return to purchase another cloud cake should we have another party :)

Stopped by for a morning drink and was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of baked goods. The shop was neat and clean upon entry, and they provide trays, parchment paper, and tongs so you can easily pick out your favorites. I ended up choosing a matcha cream donut, a hot dog pastry, a cherry and cream cheese danish, and a garlic cheese hot dog. For my drink, I went with the honey lavender matcha latte at half sweetness. Everything I tried was delicious! The matcha cream donut was especially soft with a generous, perfectly balanced filling. The pastries had a great texture: flaky, buttery, and not overly sweet. I especially appreciated that the cherry danish wasn't overly sweet, which suits my taste. Service was excellent. The cashier was kind and patient while I asked questions about their lattes, and she even offered a few helpful recommendations. There's plenty of seating available both indoors and out on the patio. I'll definitely be back to try more!

The café has such a cool, relaxed vibe and feels really spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating both inside and outside. The pastries look beautiful and are beautifully displayed! I ended up getting the mixed berry custard dessert, which was really delicious and not overly sweet. I also ordered an almond croissant, it was impossible to choose just one! If you haven't been here yet, definitely stop by. I recommend going early for the best selection of pastries!

The only way you could tell it was a matcha drink was purely the color of the drink. I also got three cake flavors to try and was really excited to try them because they looked so beautiful. Unfortunately, the cake tasted dry and the flavor was just average. As for the service, they got my name wrong horrendously. I don't know if it was because it was loud or the cashier didn't bother asking for clarification but they gave me a new name of Rachel. This led me to wait for my drink for well over 30 mins before I had to ask for help. The overall ambiance of the store is very aesthetic and nicely kept but what really made me confused was there was a complete lack of trash bins. The only way you could dispose of your trash was giving it to a worker which was inconvenient because there are a total of 2-3 workers who are always busy because of the long line. For the price of the matcha and drinks, I'd expect more. I would not come here unless you love waiting in lines for some below average pastries and drinks.
