They have a happy hour from 4 PM - 7:30 PM for dine in only- half off on all appetizers! My friends and I went and got the 1/2 lbs Burnt Ends Cheese Curds Fried Okra Fried Mac & Cheese Bites The happy hour price is unbeatable. The food usually comes out really fast. On this visit, I ordered and grabbed my drink. I went to grab some jalapeños and onions and they already brought out my food and called my name. Wasn't excited about $15 for a sandwich in a casual place. They were pretty nice, cheerful folks and suggested the potato salad. My friend really liked it. Now, back to that turkey sandwich. When they brought it out, hmm yeah it looked decent. Now biting into it was something different. The sourdough bun and perfectly cooked savory turkey and sauce was incredible. I've been here a handful of times now. Everything I've had has been good. I like speciality items from BBQ spots more than the cuts of meat or 2,3 meat combo plates so this place fits what I like. I've tried the Payless fries (that's my go to), loaded Mac n cheese potatoe, keto plate, burnt ends and the Texas beans. I always clean the plate with each one, I just try something new on the menu most the time now because each have been good. You won't find many BBQ places with a drive-up window, which was a pleasant surprise. I have my furbaby with me a lot, so it's needed for me. But I'm beginning to learn that's a Houston bonus: the drive-up windows. Another thing I liked was that the menu was very specific and easy to read. Also, pick-up is at these two cute red doors. On our last night visiting we decided to treat the family to some take-out dinner. We ended up ordering the Family Pack #2 with a full rack of ribs. For about $165 worth of food we got a lot. The Family Pack #2 included the following and its description: Brisket- It was a little on the overcooked side to be honest. They did give us a good amount though and it was flavorful. Just a little dry. Pulled Pork- This was one of our favorites. It was tender and delicious. Just wished there was more. Chicken- The chicken was juicy and succulent. Pretty good for BBQ chicken. Turkey- I tried this and thought it was pretty good. It was a nice addition. I just though they should have given us more pulled pork than all that turkey we got. Sausage- They asked us if we wanted regular sausage or jalapeno spicy sausage. We just went with the regular which was okay. It was a little too fatty tasting and you can't really have too much at once. Baked Beans- The baked beans were pretty good here. The actual beans were small and the entire thing wasn't too runny. Everyone liked it. Green Beans- I liked them but they were a little too watery. The flavor was good though. Mac N cheese- Everyone loved the mac n cheese. I liked that they used the thicker noodles and it was super creamy and delicious Loaded Baked Potato Salad- This was my least favorite side item because it was super bland. Coleslaw- I enjoyed the coleslaw but they were definitely on the runny side and the cabbage in there was super finely cut. It's also on the sweeter side. The family pack also came with a whole loaf of cut up toast. Our family didn't eat it because we had some homemade bread but that was nice to include it. Besides the Family Pack we also got the full rack of ribs which was really good and the best thing we got there. The BBQ sauce it came with was also really good. They also made sure to ask if we wanted onions, jalapenos, and peppers on the side. Our Family Meal #2 meal was suppose to feed about 6-8 people which I think maybe for 4. But we also got ribs so we were good. When we ordered in the restaurant they said it would take about 10 minutes which I thought was pretty quick for all that food. The girl taking our order made good recommendations. The inside of this place if you're dining here is large, spacious and casual. My order was given to me with the potato salad missing. I spent 120 dollars plus a ten dollar tip and got 4 slices of bread. I got a pound of moist brisket, a full rack of ribs and a half chicken. All the sides taste great, the brisket was good. But Oh Lord the full rack of pork ribs were so skinny , no meat on them and crispy critter. Horrible , horrible ribs. We decided to try this place after craving barbecue one day and driving by the restaurant quite a few times before. We ordered via Yelp for pickup. We each had the three meat combo with two sides. I had the pork ribs, spicy sausage, and chopped brisket with macaroni and cheese and baked beans. The other side we tried was the loaded potato salad. Everything was pretty good. I really wanted to try their beef ribs, but they only have those on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant itself is pretty nice in size and the young ladies who helped with our order were welcoming and really nice. I want to go back and have a meal inside the restaurant. I am visiting the area for a couple months and in search of Austin-type bbq. I saw this place while driving through the area and was excited to try it, given the high feedback rating. Unfortunately meats fell quite short of the expectations I had. The service and the space are great. I placed the order and took a seat while I waited for my carryout order. The young lady who took the order was super-friendly and she gave me a complimentary sweet tea. She's definitely a 5 and I appreciated her kindness. As I sat there, I got nervous because there was zero smell of smoke in the space. I can't remember the last time I've been in a bbq spot and didn't smell the smoker or the smoked meat. My order came out and put the food in my trunk and headed home. When I got home, I announced my arrival to the fam and we opened our "gifts". Sadly we all were very disappointed with all the meats I brought home. The ribs were dry but the brisket was moist (mostly). The spicy sausage was good but was not spicy, though we could see jalapeño pieces. The grain, texture and chew was great. The burnt ends were horrible and dry. The sauce tasted like teriyaki and the pickles tasted straight from the jar from Kroger. The fresh onion slice was perfect. I won't be back even if the owners offer to "make things right" or replace the food. BBQ should reek of smoke. My car should have smelled like the interior of a smoker by the end of my 30 minute ride home. The smokey aroma of wood should have circulated through my home when I walked to the kitchen causing excitement and a frenzy around the kitchen island. There was no smokey flavor in the bbq....or flavor. I hate leaving feedback sharing my disappointment especially when the people I encountered there are nice people. I wish her the best and I'll leave the photos here for you all to make your own judgment. This is a no for me. Sorry I tried posting this review on Google and after several days, it's still unviewable so I suspect there's some funny business going on with that resource....or the restaurant. Had an unfortunate experience with a pickup order on Father's Day. On Friday I ordered the Family Pack 2 ($147) and a pan of peach cobbler ($45) for pickup Sunday afternoon. When I picked it up, they brought me a sack with the ticket listing the order. I asked if it was all in the sack and was assured it was. Got home and opened the sack. It had 3 loaves of bread, and 4 containers with condiments (sauce, onions, jalapenos, onions, etc.) None of the food or cobbler. Called store and told them the situation. Was told to come back and they would have the order for me when I got there. My son went back and got the package, asked if it was all there, including the cobbler. Yes, they said. He got home and we opened the package. The food was there, but instead of the pan of peach cobbler, there was just one individual serving. I called back and told them the order was wrong again. The employee apologized profusely and said he would notify the manager of my dissatisfaction with how the order had been handled. It appears they have now refunded the cost of the peach cobbler - and I am thankful for that. I understand they were busy on Father's Day. The first mistake is acceptable. Second and third mistakes are unacceptable. I will not be returning to 2 Guys & 1 Pit. read more
