Kevin's personality displays that he loves what he does as chef who created the menu, and owner/operator at the restaurant who moved over from New York with a genuine curated selection of refined dishes. I am happy to experience his love and passion for people and food. This is what differentiates a large chain establishment from a spectacular quality restaurant that I love to indulge at. We started with the Dao'n fries with a special mayo-ketchup combination and a dash of lemon touch inspired by a story of his young brother's picky eating habits growing up. For our main dishes, we ordered the Steak Diane Pasta which was beautifully laid out upon serving. The second main coarse was the Daon Bulgogi Carbonara Pasta which was exceptional with lots of flavor and great marinated meat. It was so good, we ordered a Daö'n Bulgogi plate to go for tomorrow's lunch! Historically, these noodle dishes were a rare treat and a delicacy, as these noodles were very labor intensive and hard to make (although I'm sure they're mass produced now), and had to be served cold in the summer heat. Banchan was tasty too, including the kimchi which was early in the fermentation stage. The kimchi pancake was huge, definitely had to take this one to go, and came with an optional Korean-style spicy soy dipping sauce. I ordered the combo and went with the Bulgogi, which was tender and tasty, but didn't come sizzling so the pan it came in was more for display. Still, great good, fantastic value, and definitely the real deal.
