Today was my first time at any poke restaurant, decided to finally give it a try. First thing I noticed from walking in here was how amazingly CLEAN this place is! Unlike anything I've ever seen! Ordering here is custom such as blaze pizza and subway. I didn't know what to expect from this place but after getting my order and tasting the food, my jaw dropped!!! So delicious! It was definitely a home run, I'll be back for many more lunches here! read more

This is one of the best poke spots in town. I've been coming here for years and their bar and fish always look fresh and clean. Which is priority number one. Freshly made crispy onions in house, not that French's store-bought crap full of preservatives. I hope it's around for a long time because it's my go to for a healthy quick meal. read more

Was in the area and was craving some fire poke! Came across this spot and was so happy I did. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance just felt clean and fresh. The service was great; from the questions I had, they were so patient with me! I got the medium size bowl with all the ingredients I added to it and it was BOMB!! Generously portioned. A medium makes up two meals for me. Their crunchy onion topping is like half a blooming onion with your bowl! Chucks of fish are huge, taste fresh. No fishy smell when you walk in. I like getting half kale, half brown rice. Ask for the sauces on the side otherwise it's easy to over salt your meal. Totally satisfying. read more

They never disappoint. The fish is always so good from the taste to the texture. All the toppings you would want on a bowl too. They're also always friendly here and that matters because there's a million other poke places now but I always go here because they do it right. The restaurant is always clean too. I came back a day later after asking how things worked, and I had had lunch already. I got a "small" and it was PLENTY. I got tuna and albacore on a bed of half salad, half wonton, the crab salad, seaweed salad, red/green onions, ginger, and some other things I can't remember, topped off with spicy mayo and chili oil....I'm pretty satisfied with what I had---thought it was great. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have come here the older Asian lady makes comments on what we order, even when she's not the one making my food. She's made comments like "that's too much sauce" with a disgusted look on her face. Last time she said "my food was too spicy" and made me feel bad for getting extra jalapeños. I've stayed quiet since I love 8oz and also eat at the one near my job in Sherman oaks. Tonight I told the (another girl) helping me to charge whatever my husband also had. I guess he had a drink that she didn't see. As he approached the cash register with it in her hand she started making fussing sounds as if we were trying to steal it. I asked is it not in the receipt? She said no so we paid and as we are walking out she starts to signal the other girl that he was hiding it behind the bar? She's pointing at us as we are approaching our car and so I walked back in to ask if there was an issue since she's pointing at us. Truly. Truly. I will never eat here because of her. She makes the experience horrible all the time. read more

Most poke spots have the same generic flavor but 8 oz is really at another level in terms of quality, taste and customer service. I love the poke from 8oz. The selection of fish, sauces and toppings is huge and excellent, and I really appreciate the fried onions and fried garlic toppings. They'd make anything taste better, but on their poke, they're a game changer. They will even make you a vegan poke (it's not cheaper, but they add more of the other items like soybeans and tofu with two extra choices). I really enjoy my poke with both rice and greens as a base, several fish choices plus crab salad and the sweet egg cubes, topped with both sweet and savory sauces and some ginger, wasabi and pineapple, but you can make yours anything you want from sweet, to vinegar based to wasabi nose burn to volcanically spicy. If you like poke, this is a great place to try. In my estimated 50 orders, I've only had one piece of fish that was anything less than perfectly fresh tasting and delicious. read more

Located in a strip mall off a major street I've eaten here a couple of times now and have found it to be pretty good. Walk up and order what you want as you go down the line. They have plenty of options to choose from and the food is pretty good. I choose to have salmon, tuna, and octopus on top of rice and added a variety of toppings and sauce. Next time I'll have to add a different sauce as I found the house sauce not having enough flavor for my liking. The people working behind the counter have always been pleasant to deal with and have always given good recommendations when asked. read more

I like coming to 8 oz poke because of the overall selection and freshness of the food. I prefer the studio city location because there is plenty of parking vs the Sherman Oaks location. Inside is very spacious and clean. There are plenty of workers to keep the line moving especially during lunch time. Also, they always give a good portion size. read more

The portions are very generous so I normally order the box for the next size up so it doesn't feel crammed (ex: if I order a small, I request a for it to be put in a medium box #ImOCDish) Missing the location in WeHo but I'm just grateful for this spot bc I've coming here for years and the staff is always friendly and patient with the long winded orders (aka the 1st timers) Lol (Y'all better not judge me on this app lol) But my go to order is the Medium in a large box, base 1/2rice + 1/2 kale. First let me say that I've been coming here regularly for well over two years and never had any issues whatsoever. Today (ordered in person at around 3:30) the food was absolute trash! 2 plates with different fish and sides and everything tasted rotten! Also got a side of avocado which was brown and not fresh at all. The fish tasted old and the rice as if it's been sitting in the cooker over night. Maybe time for the health department to check this place as it was definitely not on par with their 'eat within 30 minutes' guideline. Disgusted, and threw the food out. Guess that was the last time coming here! read more

This is my favorite poke place in Los Angeles area. They have the best sauces and also the best crispy garlic chip things, so, so, good. Their salmon is very tasty. This place is absolute trash. I don't recommend using Uber eats with this restaurant because first, you won't get a full refund in the app and second, their quality is not fresh and it's not cheap to even buy this food. If I could rate this place zero stars I would. Because of the Sriracha shortage, they changed the spicy tuna ingredients and didn't inform anyone and when I complained saying that it tasted sour because it does, they weren't going to offer me even a change in a side. The octopus was also fishy. I understand it's fish, but it's not supposed to taste sour and stale. The business owner wouldn't even offer a refund or any help. They just wanted me to deal with this. They said they couldn't do anything for me and to take it up with Uber eats. As a former starbucks barista, I can say I know customer service and even just them offering a discount next time I go or even a change in side to something I liked would've changed my mood. I didn't even want the refund, but the lack if empathy was abysmal. I can't even eat my lunch now because I have limited time and I'm just super upset. Useless place. My experience was the opposite. Customer service was great. The ladies were very sweet. But I found a black hair in my poke bowl yesterday. Ew. The salmon was fresh, tuna might've been Pre frozen, not sure. It ruined my experience and I will not be coming back. I'm sure it would've been better had I not been way too close to swallowing that black hair. Gross. read more

The spicy yellowtail was perfectly seasoned, the crispy rice had the ideal texture, and the sauce, ikura, and finishing touches brought everything together beautifully. I also loved that they offered a 50/50 option with Spam crispy rice since that's my husband's favorite, so we both got exactly what we wanted. The tuna poki featured excellent quality fish, although the sauce wasn't my personal favorite. My husband absolutely loved it, though. The dumplings were another highlight and ended up being his favorite dish of the night. You could tell they were made fresh in-house, and the peas added a really nice balance. My only note was that the sauce leaned a little too heavily on the coconut flavor for my taste. For our entrée, we ordered the pan-fried snapper. I completely forgot to take a photo before we started serving ourselves, but it was beautifully cooked. It reminded me a bit of bronzino with its delicate, flaky texture. The fish itself was fantastic, although, similar to a few other dishes, the sauce wasn't quite what I'm used to. The warm rice pudding was also really tasty. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough actual rice pudding compared to all of the toppings because the flavor was so good. For reference, I'm someone who really doesn't enjoy Thai food, while my husband loves it. This isn't Thai food at all, but some of the sauces had coconut-forward flavor profiles that reminded me of flavors I typically don't gravitate toward. Even with that, I still genuinely enjoyed every dish we ordered, which says a lot about how well everything was prepared. There were dishes I'd absolutely order again, and others I'd probably swap out next time simply because there were so many interesting options on the menu. I also appreciated that the menu had plenty of seafood options, which was perfect since I've been trying to eat more fish. Everything we ordered was fresh and high quality. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. It's on the smaller side, but it feels cozy rather than cramped. I also think it's a great place to come with a group because the portions are perfect for sharing, making it easy to try a variety of dishes. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back. Next time, I'd love to explore more of the menu because there were so many dishes that caught my eye.
