BEWARE!...had dinner at 900 Degrees tonight. The food was very good and the waitress was outstanding. Then I got the bill. The meals were fairly priced I thought...not inexpensive by any means but not over the top either. What really pissed me off though was the 4 percent "Non-cash adjustment" added to the bill. Are you kidding me? I won't go to a gas station that charges extra because I have the audacity to use my Visa card...and I won't be back here. There are plenty of other choices, keeping in mind that the average charge to the merchant from Visa is 1.5% to 2.5%. So, they're not just covering costs, which is effed up to begin with, they added on a vig of 2%. The 4 dollar charge on my $100 bill isn't going to have an effect on my lifestyle, but if you piss off enough people it might have an effect on yours (the owner). read more

While the service was good sadly the food was not. The pasta e fagioli soup was nothing but undercooked cannelloni beans in what I can only describe as tomato water. Zero flavor. It had large slices of garlic but unless you want to chew big pieces of garlic it didn't add to the flavor. The cannelloni was just ok. The pasta was a bit too aldente and the sauce was just ok. I have eaten at 900 degrees probably 10 times. We come back because we enjoy the unique pizza. Today we had a party of 6 and ordered 4 different pizzas. They make a gluten free pizza so that always makes my wife happy. We also ordered the New Yorker and the buffalo chicken pie. If you order the mussels be prepared for HOT unless you just want the Marinera. Although we ate inside tonight the best time to come is in the summer when you can eat outside on the patio. We have many options for pizza in our area but have been disappointed at times. After reading reviews and seeing pics , decided to order from 900 degrees last night. They posted a pic of their seafood salad appetizer (not sure if it's a special or not), their marinara mussels, Marguerita pie and white pie. Everything was delicious! I thought maybe picking up the food it would not be as good, but it was perfect. The seafood salad was big and had equal portions of jumbo shrimp, mussels, clams and calamari...excellent! The mussels app was big and the sauce was just right. Both pizzas were delicious, not greasy at all, and everything tasted like they were made wit quality ingredients. The pizza here is excellent. They also have some other great Italian appetizers, dinners and deserts. It is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Great ingredients, quick courteous service in the heart of town that never disappoints. I like being able to get my own pie with whatever I want on it. Service was excellent, our drinks were refilled. The server kindly suggested chocolate milk for our 4 year old...a huge win for her! We had two house salads, one with grilled chicken. 900 Degrees makes a fantastic artisanal pizza. I had the 900 degree pizza and the name sake was a well done pizza with a great heat kick. It is a little small inside but clean and nice. Seems like there were a lot of people working there but only one person actually working. 6 people stood behind the counter while the one waiter ran all over like crazy. However that shouldn't take away from the food. I just hope they don't pool tips. read more

You might die of old age waiting for food and wait staff is poorly trained. Your pasta may also come with flakes of steel wool in it too. I guess that is a bonus seasoning from the staff. I used to really enjoy eating there too. read more

Very good wood fired pizza. This BYOB restaurant has only been open a few months and they certainly have their act together. The decor is what you'd expect in a new upscale pizzeria but it is smaller than it appears in pictures. There are just over a dozen tables, which may make getting a table difficult as the restaurant gets more popular. The margherita pie was one of the better ones I've had lately and was cooked perfectly. We also tried the "honey" pie which has local honey, fresh mozzarella, calabrese peppers and caramelized onions. I enjoyed the honey pie, which was unique and unlike any pizza I've had before. Be forewarned that the calabrese peppers are HOT, don't order this pizza if you don't like heat. Service was fine but our waiter had a pretty dry personality and didn't seem too friendly. The guy who must be the owner or manager was definitely welcoming and appreciative of the business though. Don't skip dessert here, the Nutella pizza is amazing. I recommend getting it with strawberries. All in all a solid 4 star experience. I would definitely go back. read more

900 Degrees is an awesome local (for me) spot! I'm not sure when they opened but I've lived in the area my whole life and haven't tried it until a few weeks ago and it was such a pleasant surprise. The pizza is absolutely mouth watering good! I've been here about three times now and have tried a few different pies but one pie I must ALWAYS order is the "Funghi" (wild mushrooms, truffle oil, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, no red sauce) it's amazing and possibly my most favorite pie of all time. Yes, of all time, not just out of 900 degrees selection. Another memorable pie was the "New Yorker" which consists of red sauce, meatballs, sausage, peperoni, mozzarella, sweet peppers. If you're a meat lover, this is a good choice and their red sauce has a sweet flavor to it which I love. 900 Degrees also has specials and we tried one which had 4 different types of cheeses with spinach and artichokes, also very tasteful. If you're not in the mood for pizza, they have a lot of other stuff on the menu, including full entrees. I cant speak about the full entrees, cause their pizza has always been what I order but I can say the beet salad with crumbled goat cheese is excellent. Also, their mussels are VERY good as well (again that red sauce of theirs is really yummy). Another perk is this spot is BYO and they have an outdoor patio that's pretty large. Just left and I am in a pizza coma! Seriously the best pizza I have had other than right in Italy! We shared the asparagus salad to start, what an simple yet amazing dish! Fresh asparagus, beans and balsamic reduction! Delicious. We ordered the eggplant pizza and a margehita pie. The crust was perfect and the toppings so fresh. The ricotta was melt in your mouth. I thought the service was good, the waiter we had was very friendly , I don't see what people are complaining about, but maybe they went on an off night. read more

Love this place, whenever I'm in the area I always get a couple of pizzas. Best pizza around. I have to laugh at the review complaining that they pass on the fee charged by credit card companies. Love this tiny restaurants that is byob with very great appetizers and delicious pizza! Some complain of the price for a pie, but when you want good unique city style pizza, a tasty appetizer and don't forget the Nutella or cannoli pie for dessert, you will never leave hungry. This spot was on my list of places to try for quite some time. This Friday we finally got around to trying it. It was quite crowded, as expected, on a Friday night. Two people in our party. We were seated near the door, which had quite a breeze of cold air everytime it would open. This was frustrating, as I was hoping to enjoy the warmth of the coal burning oven. We ordered both the 900 degree and margherita pie, as well as the buratta as an appetizer. The 900 degree pie was so SPICY! I had no idea it would be so spicy, but it was still so tasty and cooked to perfection. Both pies had that crispy, somewhat burnt crust, which is exactly what I wanted. The pies are personal sized, so it's easy to eat one by yourself. We did not bring our own wine, just ordered fountain sodas, but it is BYOB so that is a plus. The service was somewhat slow in refilling the drinks. Granted, I was drinking quite a lot since the pizza was so spicy! Also I found it odd that they did not serve bread with the meal like most Italian places do. read more

I had heard really good things about this place, and being so picky with my pizza I was hesitant to give it a try, but let me say I am so happy I did! This place has a cozy feel, nice enough for a date night but casual enough for any occasion. It's BYOB, and when i walked in pretty much every table had wine. We started with the 900 degrees mussels- in a spicy tomato cream sauce with chorizo, they were incredible! I was basically drinking the sauce lol. Next we had 3 pizzas for entree, the short rib pie, the margherita, and the BBQ chicken pizza. The margherita pie was classic- simple but done right. Crispy but light crust with the perfect ratio of chewy and crunchy. The BBQ chicken pizza really stood out to me, because i usually dislike BBQ sauce, but after one slice of this pie I had 2 more! The real star of the show was the short rib pie- this one was to die for good! the best by far. Going to stop boring you with this long review but the nutella pizza for dessert is also a must try!! Service was very fast and friendly, this place does get packed on weekends though & their seating is first-come-first-serve, so be aware of that. Definitely some of the best pizza I've had in NJ! I've been to 900 Degrees several times for dinner and the pizza is pretty awesome. I've also tried their dinner meals from the menu but I was not impressed. If you are going to visit this place for lunch or dinner, I suggest you stick with the pizza. The staff is very polite and friendly. The place is clean, organized and very well decorated. I will never understand why people go to this place, The ownership is so rude and doesn't care about anything but making money. If a real pizzeria were to open in the vicinity this guy would change his attitude or disappear. Im in my 60's and have been to more pizza type restaurants than I care to admit and I never read about or experienced the kind of service I read about here. My first and only experience hear was all I needed to write them off, I read the review now and then hoping there is new ownership. This abrasive owner deliberately tried to injure my daughter. She is extremely gluten sensitive to the point that a trace amount makes her ill for days. As a result, she always informs the server and repeatedly. Occasionally there are mistakes and meals have to be remade. It happens. In this case however, the pizza that was brought out was clearly not gluten free and my daughter, as she always does, asked again if it was gluten free and the server said "I think so". Then my daughter said it really doesn't look like a gluten free crust and the server said "well, they ran out". And yet they still served it and would have said nothing. My daughter ended up with nothing to eat because she simply couldn't trust the kitchen. When paying, I asked to see the owner or manager, thinking he would want to put some controls in place to ensure this didn't happen again. After waiting 5 minutes, I was curtly told "he said that if I wanted to talk to him he was inside up front" (we were seated outside). I did go inside and asked how this could happen. He immediately raised his voice, obviously annoyed that I raised the issue and complained that I shouldn't have approached him in front of his customers. Now I got loud as well and told him his attitude was miserable and how could anyone trust his food preparation. Now angry myself, I told him that "as a restaurant owner, he was a piece of crap." Not too proud of that, but my Irish was now up. I went back to my table to gather my family who were still waiting, and now he followed me out to continue yelling and to "never come back". I simply said "have no fear of that" and we left. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant and we eat out 3 X week and my daughter and I are former restaurant owners. We know mistakes happen but this behavior was beyond belief. Abrasive, uncaring about his patrons, and who knows what kind of care he exerts over his food prep. In my opinion, anyone with a food allergy definitely takes a risk here...the owner just doesn't seem to care about anything but table turns. It's a shame as the food seemed otherwise decent and the service was timely (if not truthful). read more

I would give them negative. My fiancee is celiac and ordered a gluten free pizza. They tried to poison her. She said to the waitresses that the crust didn't look gluten free. Because our favorite sushi restaurant was closed we came across 900* on our way back home. It was early so we were the only people in the restaurant-at first. Later it began to fill up. The place is modern, comfortable & clean. They seem to have a nice outdoor eating area as well. Ben, our waiter sat us & was very welcoming. We both decided on a pizza, the 900* & the funghi. Both were fantastic. Actually the 900* pizza was seriously one of the BEST pizzas I have ever had. It came piping hot out of the oven, not overcooked. The flavor was amazing with the soppressato, fresh ricotta, hot honey & basil. Excellent sauce & plenty of it ( I like a lot of sauce). The fungi was excellent as well, full of flavor with fresh mushroom. Most places where we live use canned mushrooms which I cannot stand. Again Ben was a great waiter, very attentive and personable. We got take out on Thursday night bc my husband was driving by and we've been wanting to try this place for a while, brought home: special of the day pie: short rib pie and chicken parm with penne both incredible, so we deceided to go back the next night, Friday night and eat in. We had the Clam Pie: Amazing with real cams on top, the eggplant rollatini and the sausage with broccoli rabe: everything was delicious!!! Service was outstanding, could not have been better! I've eaten the delicious gourmet pizza here a few times. My friends live down the road and frequent this place. Frankly, the pizza is amazing. The toppings sound like combos that wouldn't work well together, but it's simply the opposite. They taste great! However, we recently had a bad experience with the customer relations of this place and it's put a bad taste in our mouths. This past weekend evening, the wait was a hour (they didn't take reservations). We put our name on the list and asked if we could be called when the table was ready. There's zero space for waiting for your table, so waiting at the house down the street made more sense. They agreed and said yes they'd call us. After 90 minutes, we called to check on the table and they told us sorry but they aren't honoring that anymore because it's first come first serve. We asked them to clarify since they literally told us they'd call us. The girl on the phone just said "I'm aware of that but my boss said we aren't doing that anymore." They never bothered to tell us otherwise though. Bad business practice! We took our business elsewhere. read more
