I had the pleasant experience of having lunch at this restaurant and was tended to by the happiest waiter I have ever encountered. Being a cold New England day the warmth of our waiter, coupled by the delicious seafood chowder, really made lunch a very pleasant experience. The popcorn delivered when one sat down was tasty and warm and the sports bar ambiance warmed us on the outside. Sticking with a seafood theme, I ordered the fish and chips. I received a delicious crispy whale of a platter quickly and at a very fair price. The only personal bias I have is that the restaurant served Pepsi products as opposed to Coke. While I like to try various different restaurants when I have the chance to roam, this 99 restaurant is worth remembering for a return trip. read more

Food: I ordered the grilled balsamic chicken with broccoli casserole and asparagus as sides (for an upcharge). The chicken was a strange mystery cut of oddly chewy (supposed) chicken drowning in an overly sugary glaze. The broccoli casserole was sitting in a small ramekin with about 1/2 cup of oil in the bottom. Not sure how, but the asparagus was also barely edible-only the very tops. You would think the waiter would have asked why I ate 3 bites, but nah. I haven't been to the 99 in some years and now I recall why. What a waste of $25. read more

Our Kids liked the popcorn, unlimited drinks, all our meals were tasty and there was a nice variety. Recommend getting a baked potato and a broccoli as sides. French dip sandwich was great, very tender. Waitress (Tara) was attentive and friendly. The food was decent (not outstanding but standard chain restaurant food). I had to find a host to seat us (who was super nice) but our waiter was horrible. He was nice, kind of cocky, but we would have had a much better experience with a different server. The guy we had never came to check on us, couldn't care less if we needed anything, never offered refills. A couple of times we had to hunt him down. We sat staring at our empty plates for a very long time, hoping to get the bill and leave while people vacuumed and sprayed the tables around us (never a good sign when staff cleans around people still trying to dine). Service was excellent, except for the manager. Complained how aweful my meal was . I got the prime rib and it was 80% fat piled up on my plate and 20% meat. When we called the manager over and he looked at it, he decided to comp us a dessert. Not what I wanted. Juicy delicious bacon cheeseburger with crispy red onions, fresh cold lettuce and mayonnaise and loaded mashed potatoes. Awesome choice for our lunch we got through curbside pickup! Having never eaten in a 99 restaurant, I didnt know what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the bowl of hot, buttered popcorn while waiting for my lobster roll, slaw & fries. Their lobster roll is outstanding! Plenty of big chunks of tender lobster and a full, juicy claw meat. I could do without the slaw or fries, tho they were tasty. Fries just get cold too fast, leaving them chewing like cardboard. I should have substituted. I definitely will eat at a 99 restaurant again. I have seen a few, but dont know how big their area is. read more

Upon entering, no hostess. As we walked toward dining area to be seated we were told "Oh she is packing ToGo Orders." We were seated in a dark room and a bowl of popcorn was slammed on the table. Soon our multi- tattooed waiter, Shawn, and he was efficient. The carpet was constantly being vacuumed and noisily. Drinks were fine, the prime rib was good, the cod dry and unappealing. The Women's restroom had a filthy toilet, and the wash basen counter was wet.and strewn with paper. Moderately edible food, horrid experience. Not worth the money. read more

My wife and I had the corned beef dinner on St. Patricks day a d it was awful. Corned beef was over cooked and under seasoned. Boiled vegetables (carrots, turnip, parsnip) were undercooked and rather hard. Worst of all was the shredded cabbage which had a very strange flavor. The best part was the mashed potatoes which were served plain (no butter or gravy). Service is always good as is the food. I guess i should have known better!! I always have to make a visit here when I visit. The atmosphere is like a Red Lobster, but I find the food to be better than average. I had a southwest bowl with shrimp recently, which was super fresh and delicious. The shrimp had a nice grilled flavor and the rice was cooked perfectly. Good vegetables and guacamole on top completed the tasty, fresh flavors. Then I visited again this week and got the 3 course meal with the seafood trio (fish, shrimp and scallops), house salad, sides of broccoli and rice, and small mocha square dessert. All was very yummy! The house salad was fresh, the seafood was buttery, the rice had a nice flavor, the broccoli tasted healthy (not doused in butter, probably just steamed) and the dessert was SO chocolatey and rich that the small size was perfect. read more

What a treat! We stopped on our way home during a trip and were delighted by the excellent service and satisfying food. We opted to share a blue wedge salad and seafood chowder to start, and both were delicious! Instead of separate dinners, we shared some appetizers including potato skins, boneless Buffalo chicken, and seafood stuffies, and we could barely finish. During a late lunch, my husband experienced a medical emergency and as we were screaming for help, waitstaff and the bar manager stood around without moving one foot towards our situation. One of the other customers came to our aid....which shouldn't of happened, but no response from the employees. Finally a manager came out to assist. Thank goodness this medical emergency was not a life threatening emergency! The employees need to attend a class so they may better serve their customers! In the greater Albany NY.if you go the outside seating is in the middle of two busy roads .i had sirloin tips and chicken tenders the tips were good the chicken tenders were good as well.of the chains like this ie(chili's Applebee's outback and TGI fridays)I think this is my 2nd favorite .i heard bad things about service but it was ok. read more

Overall it wasn't bad, nice location, easy parking, no wait when we first got there. Food was good, plenty to eat and we didn't feel rushed. The main complaint was the noise, it was hard to have a conversation and people ended up talking louder to be heard, which just made things worse. Have been here a couple of times during COVID with limited menu so was happy last Sat to have the full menu and the fish tacos back! However... they were not the same! The fish is usually battered like their fish and chips but this just had a sprinkling of spice on it and the rice was also not the same! Just plain old rice, no cilantro , no spice, just plain. Definitely 5 stars for food and service. Im always leery of getting fish in restaurants in general due to it often being dry, however, last night my salmon was extremely fresh, juicy, and perfectly cooked. My salad was crisp and the balsamic dressing was delicious. Definitely impressed with the skills of the chef :) As far as service, Kellie was absolutely amazing!! She was friendly, attentive and just made the whole experience wonderful. I was very happy and so was my boyfriend (It was his first time eating here) We will definitely be repeat customers keep up the great work!! read more

Don't expect super high quality food made perfectly- and with lower expectations, you can count on the consistency of this place! Not horrible. Decent. Yawn This place was the last straw, convincing me to avoid big-box eateries at all costs. You know the ones in the middle of a parking lot. The menu at 99 is like clip art, it's just the same old thing, the same old thing, the same old thing... but the same old thing can be fantastic if it's cooked properly. . I had the portabella sandwich with fires dusted in Parmesan and rosemary. The mushroom was stringy, overcooked yet not served warm enough - taste the irony. The result, a big slimy mushroom. I was looking forward to the fries. I did not eat them. They were encrusted with the fake Parmesan from the shaker, so it's mostly cheese flavored cellulose. I think they'd let the 'cheese' get too moist because it was literally crystallizing in my mouth and forming a clear candy that stuck to my teeth. It was like eating french fries sprinkled in flavorless toffee. Yuck. When I told the waitress the problem she giggled and fled.
