Horrible service! Wasn't even served water! I went here at 8 pm on a Tuesday night. Restaurant was nearly empty. Hostess said there were "no tables." A lie. After waiting 8 minutes, I was taken to a table in the empty dining room. I was given no water. After waiting 20 minutes for a server with no contact with staff, I got up and left. 28 minutes. No service. Absolutely TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. AVOID this place if you want a table service meal. It is awful! read more

The only real thing that is ever memorable from the 99 is there theme song which boarders on obnoxious. Similar to every 99 location the wait staff boarders on useless and incompetent. The food is fair, definitely nothing to write home about. I honestly think for the most part the 99 is a step about Burger King, in this instance a step below. Avoid. read more

Ate at the Pittsfield 99 in early December as a break from shopping. It's always busy (good sign!) and did not disappoint. While the check-in and waiting to be seated was a bit chaotic, things took a friendly and relaxed tone when Julia, our server introduced herself and took our drink order. My family got take out from 99 in Pittsfield, MA this evening, When we got home we realized part of our order was missing. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager explaining that some of our order was missing and that it was very frustrating because to go back and pick it up is a 40 minute round trip. The manager was very apologetic. When we got back to pick our order up the manager brought out the missing items, as well as, some extras himself. He went above and beyond to fix the situation. Ugh! What happened to this place??? Why does everything have to be frozen and microwaved?? Worse, it's pre-frozen food that's not seasoned nor presented well. There was no attempt to mask the poor quality. I'm fairly certain that if cost is a factor in management's choice to serve low quality frozen food, they chose incorrectly. I love 99 because their food is practical with practical prices, there's something for everyone from the pickiest eater to the foodie with gigantic portions so you'll be able to get a taste even when you leave with a to-go box. The servers are always super sweet and bubbly, they're attentive to your drinks getting low and come back to ask if everything is at your satisfaction. It makes you feel at home. Just had the worst meal of my life with my girlfriend and daughter here tonight. Water logged pasta with chicken that spent so much time under the heat lamp it had burnt the cheese on the chicken. And the pasta was swimming in a ridiculous amount of butter. Steak was way over cooked both times they tried bringing it out to us after a half hour wait after one of the meals was already brought out. And then they didnt take anything off the bill after telling them about this horrible meal. Gave them the $50 gift card and let them keep the change just cuz I will never go back there again. read more

My wife and I both had the soup and salad and shared some what they called boneless hot wings, but was more like a chicken tenders. Their onion soup is a must have and delicious. The salad was just ok nothing to write home about. The service was great from the time we got there until the time we walked out the door. After hearing rave and I mean RAVE reviews of the 99 Restaurant & Pub from friends and co-workers, my wife and I agreed to try it for dinner this evening and what a mistake that was. I must stress that the hostess, servers and waitstaff were excellent, but the food isn't as impressive as the menu claims. If we had ended our meal after sharing my clam chowder and our drinks (iced tea and lemonade), I would say the 99 is great! However, we did order two meals and both were far from delicious. The fish tacos were a lackluster attempt at a wonderful west coast favorite. I don't know why there was a smoky meat aftertaste to them, but there was and it wasn't adding to the taste in a positive way. The rice side was rice pilaf instead of more traditional Mexican rice and/or steamed rice. My wife's seafood dish came out lukewarm and left her feeling uneasy about the possibility of food poisoning. The waitress sent it back and it was returned (after I had completed my meal) nice and hot. The scallops still seemed undercooked and if a plate is stuck in a hot oven without cooking the different types of seafood completely, it can lead to disastrous results. She was very disappointed and unhappy so our wonderful waitress eventually had the entree removed from the bill (we left her a great tip because of this). We didn't want to give up hope and the dessert menu was calling to us. The bananas foster cake was okay, nothing special. After having a meal experience, it makes me long for the Cheesecake Factory or Grand Lux Cafe. Those are two upscale chains that do this type of food right and rarely disappoint. I can think of 99 reasons to avoid the 99 Restaurant & Pub for good. read more

The food was decent. I expected somewhat normal food from this place and that is what I got. I think I would have rated it higher actually but the place was really dirty. The carpet was nasty and definitely needed a deep cleaning. There was trash like sugar packets and napkins strewn all over the floor. I think they need to invest in a little sweep set so they can control the trash on the ground. It was hard to enjoy my meal, I kept looking at how dirty everything was. The food is alright. I would probably only go here for steak or the trivia night at the bar. I ordered French onion soup and I found a very long black hair baked into my cheese so it was clearly not mine and it fell into the soup before they melted the cheese. My husband and I decided we'd have a nice night out and since we got a coupon for the Ninety Nine in the mail we figured we'd go here. My husband is in a wheelchair and it took about 10 minutes to get a table ready. Not sure why it took so long as there were several empty tables already and the place wasn't that busy (didn't see anyone leave either, so it's not like they needed to bus a bunch of tables to free one up for us). The lady who sat us said our waiter would be with us shortly. We waited 30 minutes and didn't even have a waiter come introduce themselves and get our drink order. We saw a bunch of waiters taking care of other customers around us, but we were totally ignored. We even saw the people that were seated after us get their drinks and meal and we still hadn't had a waiter even come talk to us. Finally we left after wasting almost an hour of our time. Took wife for a drive as Son,s and Daughter In laws unavailable for 4th of July celebration.Drove over to Pittsfield Ma as nice ride thru Berkshires.Stopped at 99 Restaurant.Had a 20 minute wait as we arrived around 5PM.When seated waitress took our drink order,and w/I minutes returned for food order with drinks.She ordered a salad,i ordered a special,scallops.Food arrived in about 25 minutes,hot from the kitchen.My wifes salad was huge.My scallops were about 10 medium scallops in butter and white wine an bread crumbs.baked potatoe an cole slaw.Meal was to die for.Scallops were tender and succulent.Meal with drinks and tip came to a bit over 50.00 with tax included.Satisfying meal and experience.Service/waitress was exceptional.I love 99 Restaurant and thinks it one of the better chains that's not a lot of fanfare,but loaded with value.Tried the Mozzarella Moons as an appetizer.Sauce is excellent with them.4 half round pieces of Mozz. read more

My friend & I went to 99's on a Saturday night as we had a gift card we wanted to use. We had the Baked Stuffed Lobster Tail & Shrimp Combo and the Royal Sirloin Steak with baked potato and salad. Both meals were good, but the service was slow, and there was not enough staff for a busy Saturday night. My friend wanted to leave at one point, and I said, no we are staying as I want to use this gift card, lets play cards while we wait. We wound up playing multiple full card games waiting for the food & check, and skipping dessert. The skipping the dessert part was a real shame as one (the chocolate truffle pie) looked really good, I just didn't want to keep waiting, If we go back, we will order to go and try to skip the wait. read more

I would give no stars if I could. There was a woman working at the bar, and she was extremely rude to me. Not only did I have to flag her down to get my order taken, she was rolling her eyes at me & was snotty while taking my order. She was stareing at me almost the entire time that I was there & when I left, she give me a sarcastic "goodbye" and was so rude while she said it. she had orangish blonde hair & was tall. On our third night in Pittsfield we had run out of restaurants that had a good range of options for someone that is lactose intolerant. We saw the Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub after driving North of town. The inside of the restaurant looked run down. our menus were dirty and torn and the tables were not completely clean. However there were many cars in the parking lot so we decided to chance it with the food. I chose a sirloin dinner. The steak was tiny, overly charred for a medium rare steak and so full of gristle I had to spit out several bites. I could not eat the broccoli which was bitter and tasted like aluminum. The rice was hard and crusty lie it had been sitting too long in part and the other part was not cooked. The water tasted like chemical ice. In fairness my son was OK with his Swordfish but also avoided his broccoli. (we both love our vegetables usually). Some foodie chef would find an appreciative audience in catering to summer tourists whose palates are as sophisticated as their appetite for theater, dance and art. read more

I've been going to 99 almost my wholes life. I stopped going awhile back because we had a bad experience, the other day we decided to give it a try again. Well disappointed once again! Took 20 minutes just to get a waiter over to take our order, by the time he came over we were ready to order. We placed our order and by the time we finally got our appetizer they were cold, the cheese on the potato slices seemed fake and tasted like rubber. The entrees came out they were decent but the food quality has definitely gone down in the past few years. Took 15 minutes for our waiter to come back to finally realized i needed a refill on the drink, I had been trying to get his attention for awhile, by the time i got my refill we were finished eating and had asked for the bill. Another 20 minutes go by before we got the bill. Overall one of the worst experiences we had here ever and will most likely not return. read more

I recently was at the 99 on Merrill road Pittsfield and became very ill less then an hour after eating a chicken & and spinach salad and a pineapple margarita. This is unfortunate as I did go there frequently with family and friends but I do not believe I will go back after that experience. IMO the best wings in the neighbourhood, love the new salad choice (bleu cheese lettuce brick) and have always found the wait staff to be courteous and helpful.
