Mild street Pad Thai was nearly plain noodles, not sure what the 9thai special sauce is. The crispy pork was almost all just fat, there were a few pieces of pork, it was so hard it was not edible. Very disappointed. First of all let me say I love Thai food! I researched the best Thai restaurants around me and this one had the best reviews so I was very excited to try it. I placed an order for pick up with eat24. Pick up was smooth but my order was wrong when I finally got around to eating it. I had ordered chicken pad Thai and gotten tofu... I called to see if the restaurant could give me a discount for a future purchase so I could actually try the dish I ordered but they wouldn't unless I drove to incorrect dish back to the restaurant... not doing that. So I ate the dish they gave me, although not a fan of tofu. The pad Thai was bland and not as flavorful as I would expect it to be. Easily the best Thai food I've had in denver! Just as good as Terra Thai up in Boulder, albeit a different style. Nothing wildly exotic on the menu, but everything I've tried here has been incredibly fresh and flavorful -- nice little touches like fresh cilantro on the drunken noodles and something that tastes like fresh kaffir lime leaves in the green curry. Great little Thai restaurant off Colfax and Colorado! I arrived JUST as the place was opening one Saturday afternoon, but the food was still prompt and the servers very attentive to our needs, which alone makes it a plus restaurant. All in all the decor is nothing special, but it is a nice relaxed/trendy atmosphere. The food is what's worth coming back for though, for one, portion size was good, not too big and not too small. Secondly the heat flavor mix was on point. I hate Thai places that don't have good heat in their food, it's just not authentic once you've had the real thing. This place though gave it a good kick without it being overwhelming. I ordered the drunken noodles (which were great), and if you like a milder heat with a decent kick I would definitely suggest medium at Thai 9. Hot is just that. Hot. Personally I love it that way but if it's not for you than medium is the way to go. All in all the food was great, and I'd also recommend the in house ice cream they make. I'll be coming back for a few more visits, and as of now this will be my Thai place of choice. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Denver metro. Like their sign says, if you order something spicy be prepared for spicy as they definitely cook more for a Thai pallet than American - which I very much appreciate. So the food was decent, but the service was very, very slow for our table of 7. They don't seem to expect groups, and it was probably 30 minutes between when the first person got their food and everyone else got theirs. They didn't recall who ordered what, had to be asked for more water (and reminded again), needed help splitting our check, and were impossible to find to ask questions. We love this place! We've been eating here for years. They have the best affordable Thai food in Denver and the best Pad Thai of anyplace in Denver. One thing to know is their mild is a medium anywhere else. My son loves the Pad Thai medium but I always order it mild. We also enjoy the Pad See Ew, dumplings, and fried rice on a regular basis. The Pork Larb was filled with fresh herbs and vibrant seasoning, the Pad Thai was delicious, and the Green Curry was substantial and filled with chicken, eggplant, green beans and fresh basil . So far this is the best Thai place that I've been to in Denver since moving here from Texas! When you walk in you are greeted by staff. There is a bar counter spot as well as some tables. I wouldn't say bring the whole family here to eat. But a few of you at a time or a simple couple. The place is small but oh so cute. We ordered the Thai basil dish with shrimp and an order of egg rolls. We ordered water that came in the cutest aluminum cups that were purchased in Thailand. My wife liked them so much she wants to order some offline. The food was truly amazing but unfortunately the portion size was tiny for the price! I was definitely disappointed. My wife and I were trying to share because typically Thai food comes in large portions. We were totally wrong. On the receipt it read medium order but the serving size was about the size of my hand. Thank goodness we ordered an extra side of jasmine rice and egg rolls. Perhaps it was because of the shrimp but I really don't know. Not to play the pity card, but I'm new to the area, living in a house with only a little furniture because all of our old stuff was way too big, still have boxes yet to be unpacked, and walls that are staring blankly back me, my swamp cooler has just been condemned, AND last, but certainly not least, I have a "gosh darn" cold and feel like crap! (Kept it clean for the purposes of this review). Now to what made my day, after running one simple errand and deciding it almost did me in, I had no desire to cook anything as I would have had to go to the grocery store and I haven't quite figured out where they are, let along have the desire to go. . So, now to the good stuff, I ordered a dinner from 9Thai and sat on my puny butt waiting for the soup, Pad Thai and Pad Ginger Chicken. The soup a mixture of chicken and lemon grass and tomatoes, mushrooms, and cabbage with a delicious broth was all I needed. It was hot and spicy and delicious. The Pad Thai was really yummy as well though I didn't eat much because I didn't have the appetite after the fulfilling soup, and the ginger chicken was honestly a little too spicy for my liking but it could be my messed up tastebuds because of the cold. (I ordered medium spice) It was incredibly wonderful to have a really delicious meal delivered to my door in under the amount of time they said it would take , by a nice young man who seemed happy in his job. I was very excited for this place after reading the reviews. I saw big mugs of thai tea, some more authentic choices then you're used to seeing. So I took my girlfriend for dinner on Valentine's night. We got there the lady who greeted us was nice and when I pointed to the back she seemed fine with us seating ourselves so I took the table in the back. This was at 7:00pm, with a total of three other tables in at this time, two with a few people but already eating. The other was one gentleman sitting alone. Our waitress promptly brought us out waters at 7:15... uh oh first red flag, I knew what appetizer I wanted because as I said I had already viewed it previously. I asked if we could order now she said yes, thank the lord didn't want to wait for another 15 right! I was then told they do not have "golden bags" and this must be from the place that was here before.. While that to me makes zero sense because that would most likely be on that "other places" yelp... I over look it and tell her I will need a minute then. She comes back we order satay, the chicken and rice dish you see all over this page, and pad thai which I asked for without any extra since I already ordered to different plates with chicken. The first thing out was the satay which I was suspect about immediately because how does chicken come out in less then 10, when water takes 15.... So of course I take a bite and it is as suspected cold just the very top of the skewer I have now waited for an extremely long time for cold water and cold chicken I am a hungry man which is why I'm here in the first place so I eat them anyway (blame my gut) The peanut sauce was very thick and tasty as well as the cucumber and onions that are actually supposed to be that temperature. Then after about 45 minutes the rest of the food comes out. Now I know what you're thinking well it's probably just busier now it is almost 8 at night, wrong the two substantial tables have left, a man has joined his friend dont worry he did not end up alone on Valentine's day in a thai place that serves mediocre food, with even worse service. The only new people are a couple and they are chowing away at some edame. The first thing we eat is the chicken and rice, definitely not what I expected for 10 dollars but hey what do I know about thai food, well if the expectation is mostly soggy chicken skin and little bits of cartilage than it was perfect! Yes indeed and the only reason I am writing this is because when the lady eventually came back so I could finally get my check I could tell she watches on the camera because they might not come out to check but if you start looking around in there for long enough looking about done with their service that black curtain will at some point and she will appear, she finally comes out and I ask for the check I decline the box politely as possible I mean when you look down and see between the two we had a total of 5 bites you should know I am not eating the rest Haha She gets offended and drops the check off at the table with his buddy and his friend with mints on it, and then goes and gets ours my girl friend is watching her and she looked up with the mints in hand then looked at me and decided I wasnt deserving of them. Well I'll tell you what she was deserving of me taking back the cash I would of left her that 20% either way but when I was told to look at the other persons check with mints on it and relayed said info you best believe I did not and then also felt like saving you the trip. Swing thai is awesome and it is in the same area if you hate that I would still recommend something else, especially for 40 bucks for this evening! The broth had a good flavor but it was just like water consistency wise.It is suppose to have a slight thickness. Best thai curry I've had in Denver. I have only tried a couple of places for curry and then got discouraged and stopped. I am not a curry expert but it's my favorite dish ever and try to get it as much as available. Hope that provides some background with my experience with curry :) I had a craving for curry and this was good. I got hot and not thai hot spice. It was hot enough to enjoy but I added more spice because I like my mouth to burn for some reason. I will try thai hot eventually so pray for me. This will be my go to spot to take visitors now.
