My wife has a 99 Toyota Rav-4, and I have a 98 Ford Mustang GT. Cliff has worked on both vehicles dating back to mid-2009. He has always treated us fairly, and the work he performs, we can trust that it is accurate to what is needed. On one occasions we had some concerns, and Cliff revisited the work done to our satisfaction. I have read the negative review, and I feel sad for those people, because it's not the Cliff that I know, so I don't get the disconnect. Three days ago Cliff did the 90K service on my Mustang, and he changed two O2 sensors that were bad. My car is running great now. I trust Cliff, and I will use his service in the future..... Second time I've brought my car in, second time they've done great work! They re-tightened the belt they replaced last time and brought my suspension back up to par after a run-in with a nasty pothole. They even kept the old part around to show me just how bad my right shock had gotten. Was a bit more than I thought I needed done, but it's clear that the fix was necessary. Additionally, when I requested a front end alignment to remedy a slight vibration at speed, the rep suggested a less expensive wheel balance, which solved the problem. First off, I don't usually write a review unless the service was exceptional. In addition, it is hard to find good honest people nowadays especially with auto mechanics. With that being said, Cliff and Minh (Phillip) deserve to be praised with high integrity and excellent customer service. I recently had my transfer case replaced for my Chevy Tahoe and when I got the car back, I noticed a weird noise occurred intermittently when driving. I called Minh (Phillip) about my problem and A1 took the car back immediately w/o questions and provided a rental car for me so they can trouble shoot the problem. In short, the part was defective and they serviced my car for 21/2 weeks without additional cost to me. Businesses claim to care about customer service and integrity but they really don't when it comes down to it. A1 stands by their service, honesty and integrity. it's always good to know what's going on with your car. Over years, thanks to internet, I have gained knowledge to figure out what's going on with the car. Couple of times, just to test, I asked questions about root cause and there was reluctance to explain the issue. I was told to bring in car and they will fix it. My last experience ended with $650 spent on some oil leakage and when it surfaced, I was told all that was done was clean the oil and the leakage needs to be fixed. I was pissed and said I'll fix it myself. I was told that I should not be doing his job. This is underrating a customer. I was also running into problem with oil burning and I was informed I have to top off every month. I figured the oil being put in the oil change is less than oil recommended by manufacturer. I guess it validates the saying you get what you pay for - cheap oil change means less oil going in the engine. It's a great repair shop, competition is abundant, so second opinion is always good, as there are other repair shops next to each other within 1 minute of walking distance. read more

This review is a testimony to the outstanding service that this shop has provided me over many years now. A little about the cars I brought here: BMW X5, BMW X5 (yes, I had 2 of them), BMW Z4 and BMW 335i Xddrive. I have worked with Cliff for more than 7 years now and words can't describe how happy am to rely on him for fast yet quality service at a great price. I admit I'm a bimmer fan and Cliff and his team are the only ones that I trust to work on my cars. The first time I came to his shop, it was for a faulty thermostat that I knew was bad. I also knew how much it cost exactly to repair and what needed to be done. I could have done it myself but I was in search for a trustable mechanic and this was an ideal test. So I just brought him the car and told him that I could not set the temperature in my car anymore and asked if he could take a look. He took my car right away, drop me to work and within an hour, called me with his findings and a quote. Everything matched, cheaper actually since his pricing is below dealer. I repeated the process a coupla more times over a few months, for minor items, for the sake of building trust and Cliff was always right on the ball with the right diagnostic and quote. Fast forward 7 years later, I am happy to know of such a great mechanic / shop / staff that I trust and that can take my car to on a short notice and give it back to me the same day, 99% of the time. What I like the most about Cliff and his team is their honesty and friendliness. He tells you what needs to be done, if anything, tells you what may happen if you don't fix it and lets you decide. He also tells you ahead of time what will need to be done and that way you can plan for it, before it actually breaks. Kinda free inspection every time you drop the car. I found that really helpful since I tend to be loose with formal inspections. If you do not want to know the details, he can also take care of it all for you, worry free. Dealing with car issues is always a pain but Cliff and his team really make it a bliss maintaining a car. I would give A1 Performance 10 stars out of 5 if Yelp would let me. read more

Cliff (the owner) of A-1 Performance is GREAT to work with!! I have been a customer of his for many years. What originally impressed me about him is his honesty. As a single woman not knowing very much about the mechanics of my car there were times when I would take my car in for repair and expected to hear that it would cost me a lot of money to repair but insted to find that it was a simple repair. That told me a lot about Cliff and the way he does business. He could have lied and said it needed more costly repair just to make more money but he chooses to be honest about things. He also charges very reasonable prices, he and his mechanics do EXCELLANT work and Cliff goes above and beyond in fixing things. Recently I took my husband's BMW sports coupe in for a major tune-up and some other needed repairs for his car . Besides doing the needed repairs, Cliff repaired one of the door handles (at no charge). The part of the handle that secures it to the door was broken and the handle had to be replaced. The part alone was going to cost between $140 and $300 ( a BMW part) excluding labor. I was so surprised that Cliff took the initiative to fix it. Cliff knew that we were going to have him replace the door handle down the road but instead he got creative and fixed it which saved us between $200-$350. He could have chosen not to fix the door handle and wait until I took the car in to have him order and replace it with a new handle but instead he fixed it. Trust is a KEY ingredient for me when deciding who I want to repair my cars and that is what Cliff has earned from me by the honesty he has shown me through out the years. If he says something needs to be replaced I know that he is telling me the truth. I HIGHLY recommend his company for doing your car's repairs. Not only for men to take their cars in for repair but for all you single ladies (like I used to be) to know that you can count on Cliff to give you an honest quote for repairs that are actually needed.
