The person who helped me was rude and didn't know the correct paperwork needed for my trailer inspection and didn't wanted to take what I have until she called her boss and made me wait just to tell me I was correct. I went to get my 3 year old car inspected when I've routinely got oil changes and kept it good. The person working there said my blades were bad which I agree that I could replace them but stated that my tint was below code? WTF?!?!? It's the tint that I bought when I bought this car brand new. I haven't changed it at all. My car is used for business so I needed a simple car. It passed inspection last year with that tint. That's why this person failed me. This is total crap and I had nobody to overturn this with. Also, lost my money cause I had to pay. This is a scam and I think they're taking my money. I should have read the reviews before stopping here. I work close by and was on lunch so I figured I'd stop and knock out my to do list. I don't know how this place gets away with so many up charges. On top of their shop charges which they don't tell you are optional they also try to up charge on equipment like wiper blades. I had my vehicle inspected yesterday by Donta Simon on 9000 Huebner Rd. my car is a 2021 Chevy Malibu not a 2022 on top of everything else he charged me $20 instead of just seven dollars when I went to register my car today They said that the correct year has to be displayed on the inspection so I drove back to the inspection place. He left the cones blocking my car in also so as i got out to move them he came walking up like as though to intimidate me w his chest out and chin up and says "is there a problem" and that's when i said yes there is, your attitude is grungy and I would like to know if you're the owner he said no and turned to walk away again so I asked for his name so that I could include him in my complaint but he refused his name so I took a picture as he was walking away so whoever IS running this place can know who is driving business away. I stopped by on a busy Saturday afternoon. It was hot and the staff was still friendly. They explained the process and the cost- $20.00 whether your car pass/fail. It's a little steep, but I only do this once a year. My car failed the inspection. I had to replace a windshield wiper and a small light by the license plate. This is the slowest "Due Now" inspection station. There were only 5 cars in front of me and it took an hour and a half. The employee obviously isn't concerned about your time and moves at a snails pace. I took my other vehicle here a month ago and the same experience, but thought I'd give it a second chance in hopes that it would be a different employee or experience. So this is the 3rd time I am going to this place. Yes ones every year. And in this time one of the employees gave me a problem at all. This time I asked before hand about some things and the employee gave me a good answer. For me the whole thing took five minutes while I had to wait in line for some time. There were two motorcycles and two cars in front of me. This place is good for one thing and thats car inspections and that's the only reason I go there. Although I did not pass my inspection since my tint was too dark (new state regulation), I was impressed with the quick, friendly and effortless professionalism. Today, I took my car to get the state inspection and everything checked out fine with the exception of my window tint. My window tint isn't that dark to begin with and registered in at 21%. The state implemented a new regulation that requires your two front windows (driver's side and passenger side) to be 25% or higher. The previous year, your two front windows had to be 20% which is why I didn't pass. No biggie, but for those of you needing to renew your state inspection, I would recommend you swing by a window tint place for them to measure the percentage of your tint. If it is 24% or lower, then have the window tint place remove it for free and it will remedy this problem for the sake of the window tint part of the inspection. Also, I learned that, a Deputy Sheriff was denied his sticker as well since his was 12% from what the lady, Rhea Hall, told me. Just wanted to save you all the hassle if your tint is questionable. The process was quick, took under 5 minutes from the moment I drove into the place, and the lady was very sweet and professional. I still had to pay $20.00, but she told me if I come back in 14 days with lighter windows, she won't charge me and will pass me. This was a painless, informative and good experience. I will be back with lighter windows. Be sure to have your auto insurance card with you as well! I would recommend this place to anyone. 5 stars! Update: 5/22/2014 -- took my car to Daddy's Tint across the street to remove the tint off of my two front windows for $40 and took it back to Official Inspection Station and passed as my windows then registered in at 71%. Rhea Hall remembered me and was very polite. She honored her word and did not charge me for the re-inspection once I had the tint removed and provided her my receipt and proof of insurance. On 03/13/17 I had my car inspected. I can honestly say the service was quick. The only down fall was the $18 charge. Not once did the inspector say the OIS fee was OPTIONAL. When the inspector greeted me he rattled off quickly inspection $7 OIS fee $6.50 service fee $4.50. I will collect your payment at the end of the inspection. My car passed the inspection and I paid my bill. Once I left the station, I started second guessing myself about my total cost. I googled the internet to learn about OIS fees. It was at that moment I found out it was an optional fee. I did notify the appropriate authorities regarding the matter at hand. I will never go there again even though there was no waiting for service. One lesson learned, ask questions ahead of time. read more

I just got my inspection completed here this morning. It's convenient but my issue is with the cost. The cost is not listed until you reach the front of the line and the inspector tells you it's a $7.50 inspection fee, $6.50 "OIS fee" and $4.50 "shop fee," totaling $18. Once you get into the shop it's listed by the pay window which is not visible from the outside. I had already waited about 20 minutes so I paid the $18 to not have wasted my time but will not be returning. I paid $7 last year right across the street at The Oil Exchange. Then the receipt the shop gave me has a total amount paid of $7! Makes no sense where the other fees come from. read more

My wife a pediatric dentist went to this place this morning before seeing patients. It's convenient to medical center where she works.Getting there at 8:15 the tech informed her he didn't open until 8:30. At 8:35 he finally opened. We own a 2017 Subaru Forrester we keep in excellent shape. The tech told her the vehicle wasn't in compliance and didn't pass. Bogus, Bogus, Bogus. The items he claimed not in compliance were the headlights( factory installed from Subaru) and the tinting (dealer installed at NP). Then he charged her $20 which is illegal. (Checked with DPS and SAPD). He then didn't give her a receipt when she paid. I went back for it. As I was picking up the receipt later he was charging an elderly lady $50 after replacing her windshield wipers. I overheard it myself. I was standing there. I will be filing complaint with DPS online. This place is crooked, rude and predatory on old people or anyone else they can scam. READ THE HUGE NUMBER OF CRAPPY REVIEWS. We have used this place for years and always had good service. Last month I took my car there. Waited over 30 minutes in line. When it was finally my turn, the guy was really creepy. I just didn't trust him. I paid cash for the service as I was not comfortable giving him my card. I just found out my information was NOT submitted to DMV so I can not get my registration. The attendant kept saying $14 which is already twice the expense but I was willing to pay $7 for the service. But at the end of the visit I got a $20 bill!! If I could put lass than 1 star I would. Don't ever come to this location. The inspectors don't know what they're doing. Super rude and no empathy or even know the meaning of customer service. First off they over charged me. They stated it was $20 for the state inspection which I was able to pay, but when I fail (which again I paid since it's pass/fail fee) he stated I could go to ANY Due Inspection Station within the next 14 days once I got what was wrong fixed. He also stated I had to get my gas capped fix because it doesn't lock. I have a older car and that's how the cap is it clicks once and it locks, it's not loose, ultimately he wanted to charge me for a gas cap that my car doesn't need replacing. On top of everything, I fix the issue go to another location, like he said I could do, and the other agent at the other station was an asshole just like this agent. Stating the agent at the 1st station lied to me and that he would charge me another $20 if I wanted him to do it. Long story short, I ended up taking my service to Jiffy Lube down the street who passed me for the inspection and told me the fee is only $7! That I was overcharged for the inspection at the 1st place. I am reporting both locations to the BBB and I am disputing the $20 with my bank. Never going back to ANY of these shady places. read more

This place rips you off. $20 for a $7 inspection. They charge $7 for the inspection, $6.50 for "OIS Service", and $6.50 for "Shop Fee". My wife took our car there today. They didn't explain the charges before doing the inspection, they just told her it would be $20. I read on their website what OIS Service is. Basically they check the fluids, top them off if needed, and give you a discount on parts, if needed. None of this was needed on our car because I check them myself for free. I have no idea what Shop Fee covers. I had my truck inspected at Jiffy Lube a couple of months ago. It only cost $7. DON'T GO HERE! read more
