We are new to the area so I reached out to a friend for a recommendation. I'm glad I did. My interaction with both the office staff and the technicians was great. When I contacted the office, Maral got back to me very quickly with an appointment time. She was also very responsive the day after the appointment when I contacted her with a follow-up question. She immediately had the technician reach out to me to answer a question. Adrian was the technician who provided needed servicing and installed a new thermostat. Our unit is 25 years old, but he got it working properly again. There was no attempt to sell us on a new unit right now. Our fan stopped working a few weeks ago which was all good and well because the weather was perfect. With the 80's forecasted for the weekend and climbing, we decided to call A&A because their name was on our unit as the installers. Their reception asked if it was an "emergency", which I declined, but they were still able to get a team out the next afternoon, which was great! Manual and (i think) Adrian came out and couldn't have been nicer/more professional. Adrian was quick to find the problem and incredibly gracious in the part replacement fee. He even showed me how to do some of it myself if I had the same issue in the future. I also have two dogs (german shepherd and a lab mix), and both guys were totally fine with them. Manual was very nice and a good conversationalist while Adrian was getting parts from the truck. Thanks, guys! We'll definitely call you again. Our AC broke in the middle of the heat wave of June 2012. Our landlords have a home warranty with another company. We called on Friday. They said they'd be out on Monday. I called A&A because a friend has had great success with them. I told them I'd be home all today (Saturday.) I had a window of 3-6pm, but Ed knocked on our door at 11:45am! (He said he decided to come by since I said I was there.) We were fixed in under 20 minutes, and cool air started blowing right away. Fantastic Service! This is a small business with a good group of HVAC Technicians who are honest and show up when they say they will. I called A&A after another HVAC company quoted $775 to replace a $145 - $160 part on my furnace. I kicked them to the curb because I knew it was BS. I emailed A&A what I needed replaced and they came back with a quote that was less than half of what the first company quoted me. They came out, took a look to verify what needed to be done, and then came back the next day with the part (it had to be ordered) and made the repair. The part is under warranty, so I have that piece of mind. Awesome service!!! I'll definitely be giving these guys a call again if/when the need arises. Very happy with the service. We had our system replaced. Both Furnace and AC. We got estimates from other companies but we decided to go with them because of the quality of their products at a affordable price. They looked very honest people from the beginning. They gave us a written estimate with all the details. They showed up on time and the installation took about 4 hours. Once they installed it, they went through everything explaining how it works and some other useful information. I have had A&A out multiple times over the past few years to fix various things that have broken on my aging Heating and AC system from 1992. They came out once and I paid them in full for the year and have not heard back since even though I've left several messages. At one point they made an appointment to service the equipment and then never came. I called them originally because of their great reviews. Unfortunately, I would caution others to not use them. My Trane thermostat stopped working on a Wednesday morning this winter. I saw these guys were close and were Trane certified so I decided to give them a call with very little research. Sure enough, that same afternoon they could meet me after work. Ed arrived at the time promised and quickly diagnosed the issue. While the part (under warranty) was going to be ordered he installed a cheap spare to keep us warm that evening. The next day he drove to a considerably long distance to pick up the thermostat himself rather than making us wait and came and installed it, changed out fuses, and air filters all that afternoon. He truly catered to our every need and did fantastic work, going above and beyond. I also had a chance to see some of his custom work in an old mansion manor, absolutely beautiful work. He is a master of his trade and I would absolutely trust him with any project that ever arises at my residents. Great customer service and very flexible on hours. I called them in a pinch because our heat was out - go figure, right in the middle of December on a Saturday morning. The techs were there within an hour. They had to order parts and explained everything to me in great detail and had to return Monday morning when parts were available. My thermostat then started to act up Monday evening - the techs came back to my house at 7pm to help fix the thermostat, which was a bit out of scope of the initial call! Great customer service. My only gripe is the mark up on parts and that's why I can't give these guys 5 stars. I'm usually pretty resourceful, but I didn't research the parts charge until after the work was done because I just wanted my furnace fixed. And even then I only looked it up because the $150 I was charged for a "high limit switch" seemed high. Sure enough, you can get these parts just about anywhere since my furnace is a Trane for around $30. The tech explained that they warranty the part....hmmm. Ok, so maybe for peace of mind, but not 5x the going price. 4 stars for awesome customer service. Next time I will be wiser -with any home repair vendor mind you- to look into how much the parts are costing for these older systems. read more

I can't recommend this company enough! They are extremely responsive and reliable. At 9:00 pm last night, my daughter discovered that the ceiling in her bathroom was leaking. By 9:30 this morning, A & A had already been out to my house and replaced the cracked pipe that was the source of the leak. This is the second time I've had to call them in the heat of the summer with an AC issue and both times they came out right away and solved the problem. We used these folks last year and were pleased. When the air conditioning system wasn't cooling to start this season I called for an appointment. I also told them I wanted to sign a service agreement. The gentlemen who answered the cell phone (the office phone doesn't pick up and there's no message) said he would have someone here the next day between eight and nine AM. I waited until 9:40AM and called to find out where they were. No one came, no one ever called back. It's too bad because I thought I'd found a good company. What kind of company acts like you never called? I would guess that it's a small business that has become over-extended or has had personnel issues. I guess I'll never know. read more

I'm a first time home owner and when the Furnace was on the fritz, I got nervous. I called A & A based on their Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. The service was fast and the tech was great. What I didn't like, was the outrageous price that I was charged for R-22...$129/lb is rediculous (I knew this at the time of the repair, but if I called another place, I'd have to pay another service call fee, plus the cost of the R-22, so I just paid it..). I should have asked how much it was per pound over the phone. After doing a bit more research the average for Summer of 2012 is $60 - $80 / lb, with some repair companies (he was out of my service area) charging as little as $25/lb (http://www.heatcool911.com/index.html). Update - less than two weeks later, the unit completely froze over and failed after failing to work any better after the initial service call (it's never frozen before).. I was told that it will take a while to cool back down since the house was so hot. It never cooled back down, until the outside temperature vastly dropped. From what multiple techs are saying (while getting quotes for a whole new system) they all think that its likely from lack of R-22, apparently a common cause for freezing over, since there were no blockages in the drain, which could have caused a freeze over. So maybe my system was at fault and all of the freon leaked out to the point that it was far worse than before this company worked on my unit, or maybe none was put in and the rest leaked out (I have no way to know and no specifics were put on the service ticket). All I know is that I lost hundreds of dollars for absolutely zero gain. I called the tech on the phone two other times and got suggestions of things to try over the phone, but nothing worked. read more

On both occasions A&A was extremely responsive and timely, they came when they said they would. The technicians that came out obviously knew what they were doing as they diagnosed each issue in the first two minutes and quickly fixed them. Guys be careful. I had my motor replaced last year and was told even though it carried a warranty for 1 year, it should last for a long time. They recommended me the motor and said it was a high quality motor.Turned out the motor failed now after 1 year and 1 month. Tried to reach out to them for help but was told the warranty was only for a year. I requested them to help me since it was only 1 month passed the warranty but was told they don't cover it even if it 1 day pass the warranty period. I am giving them 1 star only because they returned my call. Totally frustrated since its only a month over the warranty. I have some doubt over the quality of the motor they used. The reply I received is to be honest. I was honest from the moment I called you. I clearly told you that if the issue is not with the motor, I am happy to pay for it. I requested you to cover the motor since the warranty just expired.when you guys installed it , I was told that it will last for a long time. I wish I had called up some other company which understands customer service. Covering the product under warranty is done by each and every company. read more

These guys are the absolute BEST! A couple of years ago our air conditioner broke on one of the days that it got up to 110 degrees outside. Adrian told me he was swamped but would make it over no matter how late it was. At 10:30pm, he showed up and fixed our air conditioner so that we could all get a good night's sleep. Today, our furnace quit working and he came over and changed a fuse, gave us a new one for next time, and didn't charge a penny. He was here within 30 minutes. Do not use this company. I made 2 appointments for annual service, each a 2 hour window. I called to confirm each appointment. Each appointment was confirmed. Towards to end of each block, I called to confirm again. Not once did the company contact me to state they were running late or had to cancel. We called at 8am this morning and spoke to Lynetta. Our heat went out, and we have a one year old at home and it is under 50 degrees in our home. She assured me they could get me in, and said the tech would call me directly. After not hearing back for FIVE hours, I finally called them again. Amy told me that there was no availability, and they couldn't get to us before tomorrow. Why wouldn't they just at least call me to tell me that so I could get another company?? I cannot say enough good about A+A. I changed to use Adrian's company when a "Bigger, but not better" company came out and suggested maintenance and gave me an estimate. Even though I had an annual contract with this 'other' company they charged much higher prices, though I was supposed to be getting a preferred customer quote. I changed to A+A and have been extremely happy with customer service and all their work. They inspect my entire system twice a year with my annual contract. They have been great about instructing me about my system and how to take care of it. They have empowered us as homeowners. Their pricing is fair, I have compared. When I signed up for the annual contract they were very up front with me that I need to call in the Winter and Spring to make my inspection appointment. I have no problem with that, it is on my calendar. They have been here within a few days of my request. I would rather deal with a company that does not have gimmicks and very high overhead! Recently, I asked A+A to travel to my daughter' condo in Arlington for service. She is a new, young condo owner. When her system stopped working she panicked. Welcome to home ownership! Richard was able to be there in a few days. He found a problem that the same "Bigger, but not better" and another company missed for over a year! He got my daughter right up with him and showed her what was happening and what to do if it ever happens again, though it shouldn't. While the 'other' company quoted $252 to even get out there to diagnose it, trip charge and annual contract, fixes to be extra ended up to total of $129 (Annual contract plus repair of $30) with A+A, fixed! My daughter was so relieved. On top of that she has a Spring inspection included in that price and she has put it on her calendar! I am always looking for a local, competent and lower overhead company to do business with. A+A is my go to HVAC company. Use or loose these companies. I am giving A&A five stars for great customer service. They were able to schedule a same day service call when our heater broke. They did not show up during the two hour window and I called back several times inquiring as to when the technician would arrive. Eventually the tech did arrive (over an hour late). He was very polite and apologetic about being late and not calling (the call center person had taken down the wrong number). He performed the work quickly and free of charge. He said it was their policy to not charge customers if they are not able to meet their time window. It's great there are still companies that value their customer's time. read more

I cannot rate A&A high enough to give them credit for the experience we had. When our furnace went out on 12/22 we called one of the bigger companies in the area. We were charged an emergency fee for the appointment, due to the holidays, and an additional charge to diagnose the problem. The whole experience felt like a visit to the used car lot; leaving little confidence in getting a fair deal to actually fix the problem. We called Adrian the morning of 12/23 and he was onsite by noon. He was extremely professional and educated us on the problem and our options. The end result was a new furnace which was installed by mid-day on the 24th, at what I would consider a fair price for any day of the year.
