My furnace and thermostat weren't working. Pepco swore it wasn't their products fault and told me it was my dereliction of duty in maintaining my furnace. I sent a request to many hvac companies here, several replied. I went with A&S due to the reasonable cost and that they were able to come out within 2 days. Eury really put the work in to figure out what was wrong, and that's why I'm giving this review. He probably spent an hour diagnosing the problem, which is a good use of the $79 fee. Turns out it was indeed pepcos thermostat that was malfunctioning and not my furnace. Because i was impressed with his service, I bought a new thermostat and installation on site from Eury. I simply don't trust Pepco to take responsibility for their own product and get out here to fix it, so I paid the $250 charge to A&S to actually fix my problem. read more

I gave a 5 star because the cheaper checkup and coming to check everything. then what is the next story is worth reading: They suggested us to install 2 extra units--Capacitor and Hard Starts and they wrongly connected the outside HAVC unit wire. Attitude is good though. they sent another tech on weekend and the tech told us 2 diagnosis which are all wrong reason for the 2nd floor heater to run. He even said we need consider change unit- $4000 because R22 Frezon is empty and we need to change connector or something like that(turned out all wrong diagnosis) . so fear of this , we found an experienced company HAVC and they told us the outside wire was connected wrong. so We have to pay another 100 to fix that. Per that company tech told us (No knowledge at all of HAVC) there is NO need to install 2 extra units , of course it is not hurt, but it will NOT HELP much. Tip: 1 FREE or cheaper is not good.2 always seek for experienced company and 2nd opinion ; 3. check and learn to make sure you are not fooled. This is the worst company I've had the unpleasant experience of working with! Very arrogant and unprofessional. The first day they showed up at 10:00 am and I was informed that they would not do the job unless I gave them old copper piping that I removed as well as draining the water out of the old system. Small "mom and pop" business with an awful sales consultant. Made an appointment to get estimate to REPLACE 4 complete HVAC systems (4 furnaces and 4 A/C units). Easily a $30k job. Night before appointment, Dave (sales consultant) calls at 9:14 PM trying to get a feel for if it would be worth making the trip from Germantown to Hagerstown for a NOON appointment. After about 20 minutes we confirm to appointment. Next day I get a CALL at 2:09 from Dave. Lots of questions about the units, sent pictures, wanted to qualify me for financing FIRST before even seeing the units or giving me a quote. Not to mention the lack of professionalism in demeanor and back & forth calls and holds. At the end of the day, not only did I not get an estimate, they waisted my time and day. They cleared the pvc pipe and replaced the coils in both systems inside and outside. Sept 2022 called for nonfunctioning AC, given diagnosis #1, supposedly fixed and wrote a check. Oct 2022, same issues, diagnosis #2, supposedly fixed and wrote a big check. At this point used AC once before fall air arrives. Fast forward, first heat wave of the year, same issues, diagnosis #3, supposedly fixed and wrote a check. A week later, same issues, diagnosis #4, at this point I am having serious doubts about their diagnostic ability, owner says its 4 different issues, not related and they did not miss diagnosis. We mutually agree to move on, from my end I lost confidence in their ability even though he made a lot of money from me and I am stuck with a nonfunctioning AC. read more

One of the worst experiences ever with Anthony and Sons HVAC company! First roughly 6 hours after the technician arrived at my house the issues in which they were dispatched continued to be a issue. Contacted the home warranty to keep the ticket and send the tech back out. I received a call from the tech telling me he would call me the next day to schedule an appointment. Fast forward to the next day. Did not receive a call so I called the techs company. They had no idea when he would be out. Long story short. I was told he could not get back out to my house till Saturday. Original call out was Tuesday. But I was told that if I paid their service fee I could have a tech out the next day. Obviously the home office is clueless and the tech very unprofessional. I cancelled the service because this is a real ethical issue and had a new tech from a different company come out. What he found and Anthony and sons missed: broken fan, burned out or broken belt the motor for the fan was fried and finally the computer board is rusted out and may be a fire hazard. All will be replaced by another company. Point is that this was missed! It took the new tech 30 seconds to see the issue! Think twice about these guys. Especially if using a home warranty. They treat home warranty users like second class customers! read more

Rafael took the time to explain every detail to me and the cost. I went through a meltdown during the process, he calmed me down and ensured me everything would be ok. The higher stars are probably their own people made it To attract customers. what i suggest to customers is stay away from their scams to save you from finanical hurdles and non working uint( they make it non working from working with their maintenance plan and make you get a new one and then their poor installation and insufficient knowledge make you call them throughout the summer, doing unnecessary things and missing the diagnosis and eventually make you frustrated so they can get out of the loop by leaving you non working ac and then they screw up so much that it will be costly to make you repairs and replace it with another new unit with another company. save yourself from money, time, headache and non reliable working ac, miss diagnosis, putting wrong parts in the system, incorrect install and so many frustrating things in your life. read more

Need my dryer vent cleaned. Had contacted the company last fall just to get a quote for the job. I ended up going with another company, but did inform them I'd be going with someone else. Actually got a nice response back. Well fast forward nearly 6 months and dry vent is still clogged as the company I had initially planned the job for crapped out and dryer vent still hasn't been cleaned. With my wife on my back AND our dryer working overtime I contact this company again. Explained my job, how odd it is (I have an oddly placed dryer vent), and the need to replace the animal cover on the vent. Not only did they recall our chat from months ago but honored the same price. The rep from the company was incredibly responsive (lots of email and text reminders of the upcoming appointment). Day of the appointment, techs showed up on time (well within the timeframe specified). We walked through what was needed to be done and they got to work. Less than an hour later, job was done. The thing I appreciate the most was while they did suggest a few other services they could provide, they weren't pushy. That I really appreciated. They arrived on time to diagnose the problem and again with the parts needed to resolve the issue. Everything about them, from scheduling their visits on the phone to the technician who came to my home was attentive, courteous, and professional. Jairo the tech came thru the house, didn't look at the thermostat, went straight to the unit and checked that it was working fine. Said the coils were dirty and cleaning them would get the unit working again. $365 later, can't tell that the coils were cleaned (no before & after pictures produced), and system still dropped in temperature all day long. I went to unit and looked at the thermostat that had preset low temps. Adjusted them and all is well. They are a scam. They just want to upsell. They don't have a checklist of items to look at. I'm not in HVAC and I went to the programmable thermostat first. I don't trust them. I called to complain and they were rude and would not stand by the customer. read more

The technician named Factor Lopez from Germantown MD was very rude and disrespectful to myself the owner and my tenants. He did not look at my unit and demanded payment immediately so he can leave within 5 minutes and took photos of my credit card. His manager Rafael seemed like he was going to help but then never called back like he promised..I had to call him back. I would not recommend using this company and if your warranty company assigns them to you i would request another company immediately. This was my second appointment with them because they never showed or called like they said they did the first time. All they had to do was call or text me but instead they waited for me to call and complain. They deny everything and have excuses for everything . At the end he suggested I call building maintenance for coolant but my HvAC unit doesn't take that it has a water chiller system so I don't think they know what they are doing read more

Anthony and son was sent by a warranty Co. to fix my heat, the tech. checked the unit and advised that the external unit needed to be replaced. After further testing for leaks the claim was denied by the warranty co. Anthony's CO. called the next day and told my wife that they could fix the leak for $1200.00. After hiring another contractor it was determined that the leak was a 20 cent schrader valve, the total cost for the testing,repair and recharge was less than $500.00 enough said. Despite the busy 4th of July weekend, they were able to come to our house and quickly determined that the ac unit was working fine. They pinpointed the problem, which had to do with the electrical system, and coordinated the electrician follow-up with our warranty company. They ac technician was prompt and professional. Our air conditioning quit on a Friday night. I called our home warranty company and they said that someone would get back to us the next day. We received an email stating that someone would come out on Wednesday. With the weather forecast calling for 90° or more on Tuesday and Wednesday, this was unacceptable. So I called Anthony & Son and they said that for an extra service fee he would come out on Sunday. He came out and determined that the control panel was fried and that it would take approximately 4 business days to get that necessary part, so we were looking at Thursday at the earliest. However, he went the extra mile and obtained the part for us on Wednesday. So the bottom line is that when we only had to endure one day of really hot weather without air conditioning. He actually had it running again before the date he had promised. We're very happy with these guys. read more
