I called for ice-maker repair. They sent out a gentlemen who spent approx 1 to 1.5 hours working on the ice maker. It had been leaking internally and freezing clogging up the dispenser and ice buildup inside the fridge door. He added some form of extension to the water tube. I did not get the $20 discount for scheduling the service when I called. About an hour after he left I noticed a puddle of water where the ice dispenses. Instead of fixing the lead, he just changed where it was leaking. I called to have another service technician come out and the man who answered the phone basically told me I was wrong. That it must be fixed and the man that came out is a very experienced and smart. Instead of scheduling another visit he was berating me. The man who came out spent most of the time here telling me how to work all my appliances, I should know where the water turn off is for emergencies and that I should have a back up fridge. I am 69 years old and have owned homes for the last 45 years. Seriously, Just fix the icemaker. I have stopped payment on the check I wrote and will be calling another company for repair. read more

I should have called them first when the Upright freezer stopped freezing. I called and was able to get a service appointment for the next afternoon. They arrived indide the service window, were polite to my mom ( who wants to know everything). After I explained the problem, they knew right away what wad wrong and had the part on the truck. He stated that he would check e-bay for the parts and let us know. We were informed that the dryer was too old and parts could not be found. Juan shared with me that we would receive a $100 credit. If I could give these guys zero stars I would and so would you once you read this review. I am on the Home Owners Association of my condo building and needed to find a company to repair one of our broken dryers that is approximately 5 years old; the machine stopped drying clothes. We had a similar issue last year with our other identical dryer-- we had it repaired by a DIFFERENT company, they [different company] came fixed everything in 25 minutes and the dryer has been working since. Because the 'other company' made it look so easy, I thought I could find anyone to do the same repair. I was wrong... I found A-Appliance X--- on Yelp and based on their reviews I had them do our repair. Now to be fair I wasn't there for it, but what happened is obvious-- the repair person came and while trying to fix the problem removed the exhaust tubing from the dryer to the outside. Because he pulled it so hard it essentially came through the wall. He then charged us $250 and told us he would return with a method to repair what he broke. When he didn't return I called the company several times to find out what was happening. After the third phone call they said they were not responsible and gave me the number to another company to fix the problem they made... So to briefly recap-- We had a broken dryer, we called these nimrods, they broke it in a different way and charged us $250 dollars. We recently moved and the house stove had some gas burner issues being new to the area, we googled and found this company. When the repair man arrived, the stove wouldn't light. He did not do anything, saying we needed a new spark module and as we didn't know the model number, we should call Lowe's. 90 bucks. This "repair business" won't last. Maybe when ran by previous management in the 80's they stood a chance. The phone reps are rude, inconsistent and in knowledgeable. The service rep seemed inexperienced. We paid initial fee and we were told the part would be ordered n they'd be back over to fix in 2-3 days. When we called 7 days days later the tech was busy, rep told us our part wasn't available and that it wasn't there problem. Being vulnerable and needing help shouldn't put customers at risk. I recently called A-Appliance Xperts after calling several other places, none of whom were even half as friendly or affordable. My company has a standard fridge as well as a custom Subzero beverage cooler, neither of which were cooling properly. Smelly spoiled food and unhappy people deprived of their specialty creamer ensued. A-Appliance Xperts sent Carlos out the next day, who was totally fabulous -- he quickly identified the problem and was able to fix the main fridge on-site with a part he already had. The Subzero cooler needed special parts which he ordered and came back to finish the repair in a matter of days. Everyone in the office is sooo happy to have a working fridge set-up again! I would have given 5 stars except that I had to follow up with them to schedule the second appointment -- it had only been a few days, but it did sound like the parts had already come in. Nonetheless they were super helpful and got it scheduled right away -- I think I called at 2pm, and Carlos was here working his magic by 10 the next morning. Overall, super happy with this team! Extremely displeased. I'm a small business owner on a tight budget. I have a commercial cooler that I purchased, used, 3 years ago that stopped working. I called A-Appliance Xperts and they were able to come out same-day. When the technician told me the repair for the condenser would be $480, I balked, and said I would probably just buy a new cooler, since that was around what I had paid for it originally and that I wasn't confident I should continue to invest in it. He assured me the cooler was in great working order and further pushed the repair by assuring me the work was warrantied for a year. Fast forward six weeks. My cooler is, once again, no longer cooling. This time it's the compressor - a $1,200 repair. The technician himself admitted it was cheaper at this point to just buy a new cooler. But now I'm out the $480 that I just invested, based on this company's recommendation. I spoke with the manager and asked him to meet me half-way on a refund. He gave me an apples to oranges car analogy about me replacing the tires and then having the engine go out - essentially telling me I was SOL. I replied that any trustworthy auto mechanic would have told me when it was time to junk the car, rather than investing in a cascade of expensive repairs. I feel he should at least refund labor and the markup on the condenser, if not the entire cost, based on the poor advice I was given six weeks ago to invest in this repair. This place is the worst ever to have your appliance serviced. Firstly, they come out and tell you that your part has to be ordered and of course you must pay a deposit, then mysteriously the part never comes in. We all know that when we order things we receive a tracking number as well as a possible date of delivery. The business can never tell you when your part is expected. The only thing they promise is a call and can't even deliver on that. When you call them they talk to you like you are bothering them and will even go as far as saying that you are harassing them. I wish I would have read all these reviews before my mother called this company to repair her Maytag washer. This company is a bunch of crooks! The technicians played a guessing game with my 80 year old mother's washer to the tune of $480 and the washer still doesn't work. Do not give these people your business. My mother's washer wasn't getting all the water out with the spin cycle. They charged her $190 to replace a belt the first time in April 2020. Washer stopped spinning the water out again. They came out a 2nd time in December and they charged her $140 for labor and $150 for a pump that had to be ordered. When they came back in January to put the pump in, the technician said the washer was fixed and left. Right after he left, we put 3 t-shirts and a pair of shorts in the washer and again, the washer couldn't spin out the water. We immediately called back. The technician came back, and now he says it's the transmission and will cost over $890 to fix. Take my word on it, don't waste your money with these crooks. I had a gas leak in my oven and still do! I called and Juan came out, looked in my cabinet and said the problem was my pipe and shutoff valve had to be changed! He said it would be $500. and he refused to check the pipe or shutoff valve for any leak! He had a gas detector in his bag and refused to use it! He wouldn't even check inside my oven for any leak until I had him change the pipe and shutoff valve! You can't tell if you have a gas leak by looking at it! You use either a gas detector or soapy water (for bubbles)! He refused to check and stood in my kitchen like a statue! Like that's not enough, it cost me $90!!! When the part they ordered to repair our microhood came in, they didn't schedule the follow up repair until I called them back. Then the repair tech is looking online on how to fix it, ultimately can't fix it because it is the wrong part. When we buy a replacement, the service call fee is supposed to be applied to the install but they refused, hung up and told me to find someone else. The technician who came to fix the ice maker, did not tighten the line which resulted in a leak from my condo into the unit next door. An emergency plumber had to come in to fix the leak. When I called to talk to a manager, he would not call me back. Finally, after 3 days the lady on the phone asked me who the manager was and then told me he was in the shower. He finally came on the phone and told me he was like the President of the United States and was very busy and is dealing with bigger things. Then he proceeded to use a angry tone with me when I didn't know the name of the technician. He told me he has to call me back after he talked to the technician. Showed me evidence of the problem (oil leak and metal shavings), and explained how the parts (bearing and transmission) failed. Said a repair was possible, but would cost as much as a new machine, and was thus not worthwhile. Though the washer could not be saved, I'm pleased by Dale's professionalism. Phone dispatcher was friendly, and Dale arrived a bit before the earliest time promised. $70 service fee is reasonable. I'd call A-Appliance Xperts again. read more

Horrible service and attitude. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON! Only called them as ABT, who we always use, has a 3 week wait time due to volume. There is a reason ABT is busy-they are the best. My dishwasher door was not aligned and called them to fix it. I told the rude person on the phone what the issue was. Shouldn't have gone forward just based on how the person on the phone responded. But was hoping to get it fixed. Waited all afternoon-came out after 6PM and was super rude. Spent 5 minutes looking at dishwasher and then said it needed all these parts, which it doesn't. Quoted over $800 for the parts (hinges and springs) and $240 for labor. A new dishwasher (Bosch) costs not much more. Then he charges $90 for nothing. He didn't make any effort to fix it. He clearly wanted to be done with his day and not do a thing with the repair. He also criticized our custom cabinet front on the dishwasher telling me that is why the door isn't aligned because the wood is too heavy. Have had this door on dishwasher for 10 years-so this "repair" person who is really a crook just was making stuff up. No idea what he is talking about. And the icing on the cake-when I called ABT to schedule a professional to come out, told them over the phone the issue and asked for a ballpark on same parts this crook quoted-they told me parts were $17 and $40-far cry from over $800 this crook quoted. When I called about the damage the manager basically told me the damage was already there, which it clearly was not. Had a problem with my washing machine. Called them up and they were able to come the same day but that didnt work for me so they said they would come the next day between 9 and 11 am. The lady who took the call even let me know that they have a coupon online and in the phone book. Surprise! They actually came just around 9 and gave me a call before they came over. They technician that came over was Ray. He was extremely polite and even offered to take his shoes off in my house. He got right to work and after he figured out the problem he took the time to show me what was wrong. He also recommended an appliance shop if I decided to buy and not fix it. They didn't have the part so he just rigged it temporarily. Cost me $100 ($120 - $20 coupon) for him to come out and make the adjustment. The $100 is applicable towards the actual repair if I choose to go with them. Will update this once I get it repaired and probably give them that fifth star. I had an issue with my dryer not tumbling and I saw A-Appliance Xperts' ad in the Yellow Pages. I gave them a call and they sent a technician to my house the same day. Terry the technician arrived within the time frame they told me he was to arrive and he was able to diagnose the problem with the dryer. He ordered the part and came back a couple days later to install the part, he was courteous and professional and it only took him about 20 minutes to have the dryer working again. Total rip off...they quoted $100 so I decide to fix a very old dryer (which I planned on replacing). The technician encouraged me to fix it and so I thought since I have to pay $70 for the service call, the extra $30 dollars is worth it. The technician pulled my dryer apart and only at that point did he say that he would be charging an additional $250. Again, I stated I will just replace it but he assured me he could fix it and it would last for years to come. After all was said and done, he stated the charge was somewhere around $400 on a dryer that is 15 years old. And after he left, the dryer stopped working. Diagnosed the problem (compressor which should still be under manufacturer warranty), explained why his company would have to charge us so much to fix it (Xxxxx charges them too much for the part), and exactly what to tell manufacturer's repair center to try to get it done quickly.
