So, the dishwasher has been working well for 9+ months. Then over the weekend, no lights, no power, no nothing. Perfect! I'm a washin' by hand fool. We contacted Kitchenaid to find an authorized warranty repair company locally. They offered D&S and Diamond to us through their website. So, we checked Yelp reviews of the two options and found them to have just a raft of horrible reviews. Bright and early Monday morning I was on the phone to Kitchenaid customer service to find other options. Dustin offered up a couple options, which I looked up on Yelp quickly and dismissed. Then he offered up Advanced Maytag. Good reviews, nothing about crappy service people. We scheduled. The service rep showed up, was professional but personable and went to work. He quickly found the problem and fixed it.. Not a warranty fix though. That's more an indictment of me than Kitchenaid or Advanced. The experience with Advanced is about what I would hope for. Quick to respond, professional, found and fixed the problem in one visit, reasonably priced. We will definitely keep them on our list to call should I ever decide to install a major appliance by myself again.

He was the only good thing about Advanced Appliance. I bought a new dishwasher from Demetri and it didn't have a drying element which is nuts. If it did have one, then it was broken. Demetri swapped it out for a Samsung. (then apparently quit a week after selling it to me) There is another tech there who is the absolute worst. His name is Albert and he is a big clumsy oaf with bad manners. He broke my screen door in a hissy fit because he was talking out his butt about things that didn't concern him and I told him to be quiet. He slammed out of my house saying to take care of the dishwasher install myself then. The idiot seemed to have forgotten that Rafael was also there and HE was the one doing the install. During the install of the dishwasher, just prior to him slamming out of the house,, they accidently broke a water pipe which caused a lot of damage to items in my basement. (Warren's insurance paid out for those items. I made sure of it.) Idiot boy moved a pole I had sitting on top of a wardrobe, that was holding a tarp in place, causing water to get all over the wardrobe. I asked him why he moved it and he got mad and threw it back on top, causing even MORE damage! This guy is a walking clusterfrak. When we got back to the kitchen after we got the water turned off, that's when he started running his mouth about some nonsense to do with cleaning up the water. I was already upset and that's when I told him to be quiet and he stormed out. Rafael finished the job by himself and like I said, is the best thing about this horrid company. He's knowledgeable, polite, and I wish I could keep using him but Advanced stopped being a part of the Pivotal Home Solutions program so they won't do service through them anymore. That was the second dud dishwasher i got from them. The first one as mentioned above, didn't have any sort of heating element to dry the dishes. If it did. then it wasn't working. I was able to swap it out for another one a Samsung this time and a month into using it it started making weird noises and won't clean the dishes. I'm currently trying to get the thing fixed. Don't buy from them unless you want a lemon. I heard they went out of business. Google isn't helpful in confirming, but I wouldn't be surprised. Oh and this was a joke - When I asked about a bundle discount buying the dishwasher plus a new clothes washer and dryer, he wanted to give me a mere $25 off. I'm spending about $5500 with you and that's the best you can do? I declined to buy the washer and dryer and just went with the dishwasher. He's not getting any more of my business.
