DO NOT contact them. Let me first say I would give Seth 5 stars and Beau zero. The moment Beau arrived he opened up my closet and couldn't figure out why my hot water heater was on the second level...I live on the second floor. He seemed puzzled by it's installation and kept repeating he had "never seen anything like this." It's not uncommon, there are several apts on second floors throughout the state. He took photos and sent them to his supervisor for advice. On speaker phone, he had a discussion with his supervisor about my water heater, how expensive it would be to replace, how they would have to drill holes in my outdoor closet because it's not "installed correctly" yaddah, yaddah. They both then divided stores up to call to see if they had parts for this unit. I could hear everything. Super unprofessional because at this point he hasn't spoken to me nor had he actually TAKEN A LOOK AT MY UNIT. I spoke with Seth and showed him there's already outside exit point, what is Beau even talking about? Beau gets off the phone and dramatically asks me to "take a seat, because it isn't good news". Then tells me I need to replace the entire unit, for $4400 and they're giving me a "reduced rate" cause they're nice like that. He tried to pressure me into scheduling a replacement appt immediately. I ask:why? What is broken? Beau responded "well we have no idea of knowing, so we have to replace everything. I asked if he hadshad to check if the issue is electrical....He didn't. I asked if he had something to test gas output....He didn't. I asked if he could run a diagnostics on it...He couldn't. Seth and I had built some rapport by then so I asked if he would be willing to check the pilot light. I asked why Beau thought the entire unit needed replacing. We had a conversation about water heaters leaking when they were broken...mine hadn't. So Seth is down on the ground and opens up my unit and lo and behold--it was the pilot light. And then we turned it on. Problem solved, spare the drama. Beau wrote up a receipt that stated "need new water heater- $4400". That's not even remotely close to what happened. I told him I wouldn't sign unless he altered that to show the truth- that the pilot light was out, and it was reignited. So unprofessional and full of bullshit. If I could give negative ten stars to this company I would. I can see how many people could and are probably taken advantage of by this company. read more

Had them come out to check a leaky kitchen faucet. Repair man said it was the cartridge and for them to replace it would be $800 for a brand new faucet. Faucets are about $200 and take up to 2 hours to install. $300/hr for labor?! Get out of here. I ended up going to Lowe's, buying the cartridge and putting it in myself for $50 ($30 was their trip fee so I included it). Save yourself some money and time and steer clear of these thieves! read more

I recently had a clogged sewer line on a Sunday and had Rooter town come to snake it. Jeff from A Better Plumber was going to come a little later so I called him back to cancel. Rooter town told me that I needed a scope put down (an extra $300) and after that told me I needed a new sewer line put in because mine was rusty (as I saw in the video). It was going to be $5000+. I had a good repore with Jeff from A Better Plumber so before I spent that much money, called him. He looked at the video free of charge and explained that my sewer line was fine. He saved me $5000+!!!!! I will use A Better Plumber from now on. So sorry I didn't use him in the first place and save me the extra cost for scoping and the aggravation. read more

Jacob, a drain tech from ABP, couldn't snake my kitchen drain line this morning, and was notably frustrated at the unprofessional /difficult plumbing underneath the kitchen sink. I lived in this house several years and didn't put in the plumbing. Jacob noted a problem with the drain pipe in the basement, which didn't explain why the kitchen drain pipe was backing up. He had a plumber from ABP come later today to the house and I was quoted $6258 for replacing pipes underneath the kitchen sink and a very long drain pipe running from the kitchen through the basement ceiling and then to modify the drain set-up in the basement. I had a plumber last year redo part of my sewer access for a cleaning so I know that whoever ran plumbing in this house didn't always do a great job but the plumbing so far has worked for me well all these years. I had questioned whether the kitchen drain pipes were frozen and because the quote was so expensive, my handyman referred a plumber friend to me yet today. Guess what, the drain pipes by the kitchen were indeed frozen due to missing sealing/insulation on the outjutting kitchen wall were the drain pipes were running. (The kitchen wall extends beyond the foundation wall). I am so relieved the problem was accurately diagnosed, but not by ABP! I am also grateful it will not cost over 6K to fix the problem. What I did appreciate about ABP was receiving texts that a tech or plumber was on the way and the text had their photo and name included. Ultimately, however, I cannot recommend them since their suggested highly expensive repair would not even have solved the problem! read more

We had a great experience, called them to fix a break in the waterline to our evaporative cooler. Beau Crawled around in our attic on a 90° day and even went up on our roof to make sure everything is functioning perfectly before he left. I asked for bids online for a garbage disposal replacement, they responded almost immediately. Reviews looked good so I choose them. Technician was knowledgeable and did a good job and left a clean space. My complaint is the communication and price. This is what I received: "Sorry to hear you have plumbing issues, but we can help! It's $49.95 for a technician to come out and we will waive the $49.95 with any repair. We have 570 online 5 star reviews, and we are about half the price of the corporate big boys. Can we call to discuss" Buyer beware, the cost was $300+ an hour (not half of the big boys) with a standard replacement cost of $525.99. I did get a $50 discount, but in the end paid $475.99. If they had been honest and told me their standard replacement cost was $525 I would have shopped around. They sent a technician but charged me for a journeyman plumber, I did accept the fees because I'm tired of repairing items and just wanted it done. If you use this company get a cost estimate before they come out and beware they charge over $300/hour regardless if it is a journeyman or a technician. read more

Great folks! I scheduled a sewer line scope since we have a section that is sagging and I wanted to make sure it wasn't getting clogged while I save to get the line replaced. The only thing that threw me off was that the tech was dressed in normal street clothes, but that obviously doesn't matter when it comes to scoping a line. Since this was the first time I had the line scoped he had helped identify where he needed to get set up. When he was done he walked me through what was going on and answered all my questions about future options. Super nice guy and professional service. Had one of the scam job companies around town out on Monday to do an annual maintenance cleaning on my sewer line......got the whole "couldn't get past 40'.....need to have a supervisor scope it" routine which inevitably leads to a $5K quote for major repairs. I showed them the door and got hold of A Better Sewer. Brandon came out, was right on time and extremely professional. He got the cable all the way to the city despite encountering some rough spots. Just to be safe, he ran the camera down the line and shared his findings at no charge. Phenomenal service! Not to mention I appreciate the 6pm appointment availability. At the time I was concerned, and mentioned to Alex, that he seemed to be just poking a hole in a larger clog. I also suggested that he maybe attack it from the basement because the dishwasher drain pipe was also affected (sink & dishwasher drain pipes come together, easily accessible in basement, just below kitchen subfloor) rather than just snaking from above. Guess I was right, since it has again become a problem. Maybe I needed someone with more plumbing experience. These guys are amazing, and they have become our go-to plumbing service from now on. To begin with, their hours actually accomodate working people, and they were happy to come to our house on a weekend or after 6:00 PM; no more taking a day off to deal with the plumber! We thought our problem would be a "one and done" plunging that would be completed on Sunday afternoon, but it turned into a more complex problem that didn't get solved until Wednesday, but the guys from ABS worked hard to find a solution for us during the entire time. Two different technicians came to our house, and they were both extremely friendly and knowledgable, and not only did everything they could to protect our house while they were working, they were also very diligent about cleaning up their mess afterwards (and they even cleaned up a mess that I made). All the while, the company stayed in constant communication with us so we never had to wonder what was going on. And even after all of that hard work (and mulitple trips), they *still* gave us a discount to thank us for our patience, and the final price we paid was very reasonable considering all the effort and detective work that they had to put into it. It is so refreshing to see a company that actually treats the customer with respect, and earns their money with good old-fashioned hard work and outstanding customer service. Scheduling and having the inspector come on time was no issue! Had to call to receive my report and never received a video as promised, and for some reason was sent a conflicting report days later after initial report mentioning an issue that was never stated at time of inspection or on first report. Called, emailed several times to get answers on what report is actually accurate and could not get hold of anyone. Frustrating when you are using this for a new home purchase and there are deadlines involved. Now I have to a call another company to reinspect. Update: Since my review, the business owner did reach out. I appreciate him reaching out to see what could be done. Does seem to care about his business and how it is run. Do not use these guys! While they seem lower in pricing, you will be paying double, just to fix their errors. That is, if they even show up! In August I contacted these guys to assist with my rental property that was having issues with backup in the basement. They went to the house and supposedly flushed the line, I paid $200 for this service. I thought the issue was handled but less than 2 months later I received an SOS call from my renter telling me that they same issue was occurring! Unfortunately I was overseas but I called the main office immediately to ask why this was still happening. I spoke with Lindsey who apologized and said she would speak with the tech who handled the matter and someone would get back to me. No one did. So I texted on different occasions while still out of country, asking for update and why my renter was experiencing the same issue and still no response. Someone did eventually go to the property and a text message was sent asking for payment. BUT NOTHING was stated as to why the same issue was happening and what was done to begin with in August. Despite several attempts, no info was given. Tech did tell renter that they thought it was grease build up, but NOTHING was ever told to me despite all my attempts. Upon return I reached out again, by phone and spoke with Travis who said he was stumped by the lack of response and that he would call the tech and give me an update. Guess what, that never happened. Finally, I reached out to another company who fixed the issue PLUS they had to reseat the toilet these 'techs' had taken apart to 'diagnose' the issue but did not replace properly and so water was left leaking out from the seat anytime it was used! So I had to pay an additional $200 to get this done, along with fix the issue these guys said they had fixed in August because the original 'plumber' didn't bother to replace the toilet properly. My basement drain backed up so I called a couple of plumbers to scope out the line. A better plumber came out and scoped and gave me a quote of $9500.00 to replace the cast iron under the concrete. They promote" leaving the site better than it it was found." They did respond quickly, coming out the next day. The 2 plumbers arrived Thursday 9.30.21 around 8a and put up plastic around the hammer area. During the work, it was discovered that the pipe going back to my washer drain was compromised, so they quoted fixing the 2' for another $750.00. They went to lunch from1p to 3:15p and finished at 8:15p. The basement was a complete mess with several pounds of concrete and dirt, saw blades and cast iron pieces, and the concrete repair has very rough, open edges. After work on Friday, I found dust had settled on every surface in the kitchen and was very heavy on everything in the basement. After a few hours of cleaning on Saturday, I decided to call the office and was later put on contact with Mike, the service manager. He sent another plumber to cleanup. This person saw the wreckage and proceeded to bad mouth the other workers the whole time he was there, which I thought very inappropriate. He swept the area, showed me the bag with a few pounds of debris, and said " there is nothing I can do about the dust." He said they would follow-up and fix the concrete, but I have not heard from anyone by 10.12.21. As you can tell, I am very upset at having paid $10,250.00 and am still cleaning up. read more

I had Travis of "A Better Sewer Company" come out and inspect a house that I'm interested in buying that's located in Aurora, CO. I learned about Travis via Steve of "America Inspections." Travis scoped the sewer line of the house through a first floor toilet. He videoed and explained the process to me, gave me a CD of the process, and completely reinstalled the toilet like it had never been removed (he even reinstalled it with a new wax ring). I was thoroughly impressed by his professionalism, the price was reasonable (especially since I'm use to paying Northern Virginia prices), and would definitely recommend him for any sewer line inspection. I was not happy that I didn't actually see the estimate broken down before I ok'd the work. I had I known I was being charged the same amount for a major ceiling leak to replace a shut off valve on a toilet I would have skipped that! They charged #399.00 for that but did not know that till they emailed me the receipt!!
