This is not a good place to go if you don't know much about cars, you will be taken advantage of. The labor cost is EXPENSIVE and the work is not done correctly the first time, you really have to push if you want a thorough job done. About 9 months ago I went to this shop because a co-worker recommended it to me when my truck was not starting reliably. I suspected the problem was the ignition switch and I explained it to the owner, Brian. He said that he would check it out and get back to me. The calls started about 2 hours later with hourly updates that they were having trouble finding the problem, tracing the short, blah,...blah,... When they found the problem, (ignition switch), but had trouble getting to it. I agreed to the work because what else could I do at that point. Costs: $500+ to replace an ignition switch because Ace Automotive Techs couldn't figure it out sooner. Service certificates all over the front office walls really doesn't translate to honest business practices. This shop gets 1 Star because Zero doesn't count as a rating. I cannot, in good faith, recommend this shop to anyone. Period! Bottom Line: Stay Away unless you're a neurotic in need of someone constantly calling you to say that they are working on your car (but expect to pay for the emotional coddling). read more

This company is outstanding. We've used them several times for various repairs to our vehicles, a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and a 2005 Dodge Durango. They are totally thorough, efficient, fast and great communicators. I took my Jeep in with a dead battery (hoping that was all it was) and they diagnosed the problem immediately. Then they told me that the last company to replace the battery (Sears) put the wrong size in and had even bent the brackets to make it fit. Probably contributed to the short life. They fixed it perfectly, and delivered the vehicle clean and ready to go. They've done other work always with the same high quality and excellent service. Most honest autoshop ive ever been to. New years eve my trucks waterpump gave out and messed up a bunch of stuff within the cooling system. I had to wait for the holidays to be over to bring it anywhere. I called one shop and the guy didnt even ask me about the problem or even what type of vehicle i was driving , when i asked what could be the problem he just said we'll figure it out just bring it in .... That didnt make me want to use them . I called up Ace and spoke to lawrence who then handed me to brian. Brian is very nice asked me what the problem was .with out me asking , he started telling me some things could be the problem and the seriousness each problem could be , made an appointment with them that day but decided to bring it in a few hours early and he said it wasnt a problem hell look at it when he has open time. I get a call the next day with not so good of news . Brian started listing off a bunch of things that were wrong with the cooling system which totaled to about $1,800.. And that wasnt forsure the last of it , thats just what he could fin without pressure testing it . So he gave me two options , i could either risk spending that kind of money , or looking into trading it in and getting a new car . He gave me some time to think and said to call him back once ive decided. I came up with looking into just buying a brand new car , the dealer said theyd trade in my truck as a down payment but wanted to see the truck. I called up brian told him my idea to come get the truck trade it in if i qualify or if i dont ill just brig it back and have him fix it . He was all for it, his exact words were ," thats what i would do , dont get me wrong, i would love the work and to get paid , but i dont cheat people and id rather be honest " After everything i ended up trading in my truck and got a brand new 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye ... I came back to the shop to pay for their time and work on my truck and i showed Brian and lawrence my new car and they were like little school girls ooing and awwing over the new cars engine looking in every little hole and seeing all the new parts and fluid colors lol .... On an otherwise normal Monday, my car decided to throw the serpentine belt on my way to the store. I literally coasted into Brian's parking lot just down the street. As luck would have it he was able to squeeze me in the next day and replace my belt and tensioner. As some others have said, the overall cost was more than I expected, but the job was done in a timely manner and with good parts and a pride in workmanship that is rarely seen. Brian called some very old and bulging coolant hoses to my attention as well, and because we replaced them I am less likely to be stranded at the side of the road. ACE is unique because they do not put the blinders on when doing a repair, they poke around a little and make sure your car is safe for the road. To top all of this off, they even gave me a ride to work and brought the car by when it was all finished. Talk about customer service! read more

He has worked on two Honda Odysseys for me, and my wife's old civic; we've always been happy with the work, but what made me a loyal customer is the time he takes to explain what's wrong and what my options are - what is urgent or necessary, what can wait, and what can be left unfixed. (For example, my gear shifter went 'soft', lost some of the clicking-into-place feel, due to a worn part. Brian explained that this would not affect the transmission, it was just an annoyance, and gave me the option to fix it or live with it.) When I went to A.C.E. Automotive to have a clunky sound checked out, I mentioned that the car was full of stuff because I was in the middle of moving. The fellow who helped me, Brian, said he would give me a loaner vehicle while they were looking at my car. He suggested that perhaps if I took the truck they had, it would be very helpful in the move. I was thinking I was going to have to make several trips over a few days to get my stuff moved via my Honda Civic. But, instead, the truck made it possible to do everything in one day. "Sometimes these things happen for a reason," Brian said. He said that he even loans out cars over the weekend to regular customers who just need a ride, even if their car is not being worked on when they need a loaner. Super cool human being. I cannot say enough good things about Brian and A.C.E. Automotive. He is super honest, fair and upfront. Brian has been caring for my cars (3 so far) for over 20 years. I bought Japanese cars because that is what Brian specializes in! What I love about A.C.E. & Brian (besides being dependable and excellent) is that he will let you know that a part needs replacing but that you can get a certain amount of life & miles before it absolutely needs to be done- of course any safety issue would be different, but who does that? I always considered myself lucky when I had a doctor or a lawyer I could trust. But for the past seven years I've been even luckier than that - my wife and I have a car guy who is so competent, so considerate, and so honest that we trust him completely. We've had a number of cars which Brian has taken care of, one we were trying to wring the last mile out of, and others we wanted treated with kid-gloves. Brian and his mechanics truly went above and beyond to fix an unforeseen issue..... let me explain. I had some work done at ACE that required the belt of my truck to be removed, work was completed on time and under the estimated cost. I picked up the truck and left, I got about 5 miles down the road and turned my air conditioner on and heard a terrible screeching. I immediately turned around and took it back to ACE, this was 4:45. Brian immediately took the truck back diagnosed the problem as a worn out tensioner. He got on the phone and within 15 minutes the part was in hand and being installed. I left ACE at 5:15 and my truck was fixed! Unbelievable. Thank you to Brian and the great mechanics. Brian Faulconer is a friend of mine and has been for many years. As a person he is honest, kind, caring, trustworthy and incredibly hardworking. As I no longer live in the area I have not brought my car to him. Until now. I recently had some problems with my VW bug and he offered to repair it for me if I brought it up to his shop. VW's are not his area of expertise but he asked around and got the right information for my car and he and his crew were able to repair it for me. One of my issues was financial; the dealer where I was originally going to take it was going to charge me an obscene amount of money. Wonderful business, and I hate having to take a car to a repair shop, since I usually try to fix things myself. But, daughter was at Sonoma State University and had problems with her car during those four years. Brian and the mechanics at ACE took great care of the car each time. I took my car in to get it checked out, as it was making very odd sounds as I accelerated and decelerated, and Brian, the owner, told me it was my alternator. He was very honest in diagnosing, as well as giving fair pricing. I was very impressed with how quickly they got me in and out for such a low price. He and his staff are friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful. After having disconnected the battery to replace the alternator, I noticed my windows and sun roof weren't working, so I went back inside to let Brian know and he was on it immediately to correct what usually happens during that procedure and to ensure I was satisfied.
