In addition to ensuring our pup gets a great hike with his pack every day, Amy was a lifesaver when he got sick while we were traveling. She noticed he had an abscess on his side during his regular walk, helped our friends who were pet-sitting get him to the right vet, and checked in with us and them all along the way to ensure he'd be ok. A highlight of my day is seeing her Insta posts of the "pack" romping together. And she sends me personal messages and texts anytime something particularly cute happens. There are too many unwanted animals in this world and buying from a pet store or personal breeder just promotes the breeding of animals, which is not needed considering that there are already enough out there as it is without intentional breeding. My kittens are totally cool. Lila plays fetch and actually drops the toy that she is fetching right into my hand! Lily is a total lap cat and can't give me and my kids and husband enough love. Gio has been very flexible and responsive when it comes to my school schedule and my dogs love him!! I have a one year old whippet with absurd amounts of energy, and a very mellow 10 year old. He takes them with his pack where they gets interaction with other dogs and come home happy and sleepy. I didn't need to bring anything except for my little boy. The lady owner helped my son remove his fur ring, informed me about the pellets they use (from Germany to closely mimic the natural chinchilla diet), and I truly appreciate her assistance and carefulness. I will definitely be returning for boarding/grooming and hope to adopt another chinchilla from this rescue in the future.

Their fosters are amazing and work with the puppies on crate training, behavior, and making sure it is is a good fit. They also make sure that you have thought through the decision and know the commitment and resources that will be needed. Our puppy came home with some food, a collar, a toy, and his puppy blanket! We now have a wonderful addition to our household and have PPR to thank.

They rescue lots of dogs including pregnant mothers, not just the cutest ones in shelters like some other organizations. Most (if not all) dogs adopted out from PPR are fostered, so they are already well socialized and often trained well. Jasper was potty trained and crate trained when he came to our home, and he had great manners from having two older foster brothers. It is true that PPR takes it's position as a rescue and adoption organization seriously. They will try their best to adopt pets to families and individuals that are ready for pet ownership, but please understand that in doing so they are trying their best to ensure that the dogs in their care do not return to shelters because the families were unready for a puppy (because let's be serious here, having a puppy is rough for the first several weeks!). It's a commitment for the lifetime of the animal, and that is not to be taken lightly. Everyone I encountered through PPR was warm, loving, and committed to saving as many animals as they could. Sorry for the long review, but PPR is great. They also have a wonderful community through Facebook and PPR puppy get-togethers annually. If you were turned down by PPR, give them another chance if you feel so inclined. If not, there are plenty of other organizations out there adopting out great dogs. As long as PPR ensures that shelter dogs get homes, then they are doing their job, and a job that they excel at. It is obvious from reading other reviews here that the dogs that PPR adopts out don't have crazy health issues like puppy mill dogs, and that their dogs are ready to start life in their forever homes because of their fostering policy. In my book that makes PPR a great organization. People who were turned down might not think so, but at the end of the day this is about getting abandoned and forsaken animals homes. PPR does that, and excels at it.

Lisa came to our house for a meet and greet before I left and got along really well with my cat. Lisa is also super friendly and I felt very comfortable leaving my cat with her. She sent daily photos and videos of my cat and was very easy to communicate with, even while I was out of the country. It gave me great peace of mind while traveling! Lisa also noticed small things like recommending a new scratching post for my cat, which was very helpful. I would definitely use Lisa's services again if I have another trip, and I would recommend to others as well!
