We were trying to figure the best way to honor our brother who loved the beach. He lived in Huntington Beach and we thought of doing a paddle out but it was hard to put together. I absolutely can not say enough nice things about A Journey with Wings. The entire process from start to finish was very easy, during what has to be the toughest time of my life, loosing my husband at a young age to aggressive cancer. If you knew my husband you'd know, he'd want to go out with something big. We had a lot of people attending his memorial, Fortunately, my mother in law lived by the beach in Ventura County, which was the perfect location to do the fly over. I was a bit worried about how it would all work out, but Jamie texted me when she was taking off from a nearby airport, so the guests could go outside to the beach to witness the fly over and scattering. I have now used the ash scattering service with Journey with wings twice, once for my dad three years ago and the second time for my mom this month. My dad had always emphasized not to be buried but cremated after his passing. I am the only child he has in America. At the time of his death it was during Covid. He died in TN but I wanted to scatter his ashes into the Pacific Ocean so he could be free to return Asia where he came from or stay close to CA where he resided for 10 years. I could not witness the scattering due to Covid travel restriction and none of my family could come to CA so the video they provided was great. This time I flew to LA with my husband and daughter to witness the ash scattering for my mom. Because we were flying in from different destinations, it took a lot of coordination to confirm the date and time of the service. Jaime was extremely accommodating and patient with me during the entire process just like she was during the last service she provided. Dana, the other pilot ended up doing the scattering for my mom. She was also amazing to work with. She sent me clear instructions on where to park and wait and was very accommodating when we arrived much earlier than anticipated and adjusted our service time so we wouldn't have to wait for a long time, although it meant she had to rearrange her schedule on a weekend. Both of my parents' ashes were scattered near Laguna Beach. The whole process was easy, beautiful and brought closure to us after the loss of my beloved parents. I highly recommend their service to anyone who would like to have their ashes scattered. It is very dignified. They do all the paper work and you can avoid the sea sickness that a boat service may cause. I was really seasick when my husband's family scattered his dad's ashes via a boat.
