We stopped here for dinner Friday night before our concert at Great American Music Hall. It was walking distance so it was very convenient. There were plenty of tables and we were greeted and seated very quickly. We tried the beyti kebap and regular Turkish soda. The soda reminded me of the regular ramune flavor I think it was supposed to be mixed berry flavor but I'm not sure. I definitely recommend the beyti kebap. I would come back and try more stuff here.

My pitas were so soggy that they were inedible. The manager's excuse was that they had been putting the pitas on top of the salad for years and there had never been a problem. They didn't realize that you can't put bread or anything like that on top of the salad and that it would turn into dough. They tasted good but incorrect packaging caused my product to go to waste and the lady who answered the phone said she was the one responsible for that and she was very rude.

Came in for a late night spot of tea and baklava and this 100% hit the spot. I'm in love with Turkish cuisine so I was so excited to stop in. Wish we could have come for dinner but I guess we will just have to make another trip out to do that The tea and baklava were perfect and I definitely recommend this for everyone!!

Great food, great casual atmosphere, great people. In SF for business and the Uber driver from the airport was from Turkey. I asked where I should go to get food Turkish food and he said "A La Turca". Happened to be ~6 blocks from my hotel. Went the for lunch. It was great. Had Chicken Kebab and a Turkish coffee (as always). Chicken was super moist, coffee was perfect. Photos below.

Good service, food was also good, had lentil soup and kofte kebab. They also offered tea afterwards .it's walking distance to union square but it was not a very pleasant walk because it's a weird part of SF. But food was good, restaurant looked clean, and owners were nice. Price was reasonable.

A super yummy Turkish place for some great lamb! The lamb chops are somewhat on the small side, but they make up for it on the other dishes I always get. The deep fried eggplant with tomato sauce and garlic yogurt is a great alternative for ANY veggie lovers. Another appetizer that is a must is the Ispanakli Borek. A super flaky spinach and cheese pastry. One of the best Turkish spots in the city.

Iskander kebab is good. Being new to Turkish cuisine, I appreciate the combination of meat, tomatoes and cubed bread which make for a balanced meal with great flavors. Service is good; attentive and personalized. Ambiance is good and I feel safe on this northern edge of Tenderloin. I'll be back!!

Excellent, delicious authentic Turkish cuisine in a comfortable setting in Nob Loin and street side tables set right against the building The Lentil Soup is very satisfying with that subtle spice that has you savouring every spoonful. The lamb is tender and bustling with flavor. The pita is authentic fresh and has just the right texture to soak up whatever your heart desires The staff is attentive warm and professional. I've come to know and respect my neighbor Owner Özgul Yolcu a bright, savy, stunningly beautiful inside and Turkish Business woman. I love dining at A La Turca and I'm honored to call Ms. Yolcul friend.

We liked their outdoor parklet and table seating (we had our dog with us). One of the few places that cater to al fresco dining. We initially walked past this restaurant and the waiter told us to sit down and give their food a try. We told him we would come back... which we did. Along with a glass of wine we ordered their Hummus cold mezes, Borek hot mezes and the Kubasi Pide flat bread the waiter recommended. All three items were excellent! Hummus was smooth and rich flavored, served with their house made seasoned bread was delish! Ask for more bread. The Borek was crispy light and flakey with the cheesy center. Wow so good! The finale was the Kubasi Pide flatbread. Nice crisp golden brown crust with savory meaty filling. Beautifully crafted and served on a wood platter. The staff were super nice and accommodating, despite us getting there so late/close to closing time. After a round of beers, we tried several dishes, including the lahmacun, the pastirma pide, the falafel salad, and for dessert, the rice pudding. I definitely preferred the pides and the rice pudding was delicious! However, I was not a huge fan of the lahmacun. It was bland despite the side veggies, and desperately in need of salt. All the savory dishes would have benefited from a bit more salt, in fact. Overall, still a very good meal and I recommend trying it!
