AH-mazing. This was surely one of the best restaurants I have EVER eaten at. I almost do not want to post this review in case I come back to Venice (I don't want to have difficulty getting a table). We arrive 15 minutes early for our reservation and patiently waited outside as multiple people were turned away for lack of reservations - though they were encouraged to visit their sister location around the corner. Our table ended up taking much longer (we were a party of 6 and this is a small venue) - the owner came out and introduced hisself with a complimentary bottle of perseco which was house-made/branded. Food was solid. Nothing really memorable but it was good. However service was absolutely terrible. The wait staff took almost 10 minutes to get us a menu and they never stopped by again after we received our food. Had to walk to the front of the store to get someone to bring the check. They also forgot to bring by bread but not that big of a deal because the portions are pretty big. They also charge a $2 gratuity per person (during lunch), which is not modest considering that most of their menu is less than $10. We loved the food but felt rushed. The servers were helpful with the menu, and we ordered pasta to share and pizza to share. We were sitting at a small table for two - and both dishes came at once. Everything did not fit on the table and we juggled with it. The squid ink pasta with scallops was delicious - but hard to serve around the pizza on the table (hard to serve at all since no serving spoon was offered and only a small one came on request). If it had been the only thing on the table we could have shared the plate, but as it was we needed to move some - with its sauce - to a smaller plate to eat. We ordered the name-sake pizza and it was one of the best we had on the entire trip. The meats and fresh cheese on it were stunning. We ordered the "chef's surprise" dessert. It really is a surprise - they won't tell you what it will be - or what it is. We liked what we got, until we saw the "surprise" at the next table and though it looked much better than ours. This place was fantastic. We were seated by who I believe was the owner. We didn't have a reservation but showed up early and he said he could seat us as long as we'd be done an hour and half. Occasionally I'll linger at a restaurant for an hour and a half to two hours, but it's not typical. I ordered the 4 cheese pizza, which was huge, and it was one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. Normally these are smothered in blue cheese, but there was just enough on each slice to give it a pleasant tang. One thing was that they didn't slice the pizza before serving it, is that an Italy thing? I just asked if they could cut it and they happily obliged. My friend ordered the fettuccine with duck and said it was delicious. The house wine is cheap and the pleasant kind of spicy I like in an Italian red, and really opened up through the meal. They were really attentive to my onion allergy. All in all we got out for 40 euro, and it was definitely the best meal of our 4 country trip so far. read more

Visited Venice recently with my girlfriend and this was the first place we had dinner. Located in the northern region of Venice. Open late for those late Italian dinners. And very affordable. We had the lobster with squid ink ravioli with two bottles of wine for only 60 euro. The owner had a second restaurant located a few blocks away which is just as good. They just don't serve the pizza. If you do have the chance to try the pizzeria definitely do. Pizza was outstanding. Stopped by here on our first night in Venice. We unfortunately couldn't get a table without a reservation but the hostess helped us by walking us to their other location which has the same menu, sauce, and prices - just no pizza. While this was a disappointment, we chose to go with it and get some pasta. The staff were extremely pleasant and we were entertained by a Spanish woman singing a range of American songs from the 80s - think lounge singer not karaoke. The food itself was quite good. The smoked goose breast appetizer with port poached pears and cheese puff pastry was outstanding. It was a great balance of salty, tart, and cheesy. The scampi appetizer over raw artichokes was also an extremely nice light way to start the meal. Our party decided to enjoy four different pastas and were not disappointed by any of them. The pizza was great and the spaghetti was really good. Keep in mine the noddles are thicker than regular spaghetti. I like the added touch of live music. This is one of my favorite places so I would diffidently go back. Everyone loved what they got. We still talk about it after we came back to Okc as one of our favorite place. This place was awesome! We had the house pizza, and let me say...it was by far the best pizza we've ever had! (By the house pizza we mean the pizza named after the place) Every bite was like heaven! My husband and I decided to get lost in the streets of Venice and came across this place. We use Yelp to try new places, but because we had a lack of signal here we happen to walk by this place and decided to try it (it also helps that we were starving by this time)..
