My friend and I visited this place and ordered the chicken wings, the noodles (which were recommended by the lady working there), and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. When the food arrived, I tried everything. I really enjoyed the onion wings with their sauce and the noodles. However, I was disappointed with the chicken wings--they weren't spicy and lacked the flavor I usually enjoy in wings. The seating was comfortable, making it a nice place to relax and enjoy our meal.

respectfully the dullest pad thai i've ever seen in my life

came here on a late night because i was starving and very intrigued by the whole full bar and asian food situation. the two stars are for the kind and super generous staff, but the food was just not very good. we ordered crab rangoons, tom yum noodles, and pad thai. this place has a lot of good reviews so i am interested in coming back and trying other dishes, but the food really fell flat for us.

We had the basil chicken, and it was tasty enough that we'd order it again. We also had the butter garlic beef. It was pretty good, and exactly what I was expecting and hoped for. One in our party thought the texture of the noodles wasn't ideal. The beef was good and tender, though. We also had the broccoli shrimp. Had a good amount of shrimp, a d the sauce was pleasant enough, but nothing special. Portion sizes were decent, prices weren't noteworthy either way, and food was served *very* quickly, and hot. We had two fried appetizers: the veggie spring rolls and the crab rangoon. Both were a touch too "well done". The outer crispy shells were a bit overcooked. Interior if the restaurant isnt anything special or noteworthy, but service was friendly.

Came here because it's near SFO and open late. Ordered the belacan Okra and Lao coconut noodle. For the price, they don't really give a lot of okra, but it was delicious. The Lao coconut noodle was a tad salty, but a solid choice as well. For food, I'd come here just for the convenience of being near to the airport and when other restaurants aren't open.

Ordered food to go, paid $72 for spicy Thai fried rice, beef pad see ew, fried banana w/ ice cream & two Thai teas. When I received the Thai teas, I could see they didn't fill up the cups the whole way. When I fill up one cup fully with the other drink, you can see they skimped out on basically half of the other drink. Mind you these Thai teas are $6 each. I hate restaurants that obviously cut corners to save themselves money at the expense of the paying customer. If that's really the correct amount, maybe get a smaller cup or lower the price. Updating to account for food. Thai spicy fried rice was not spicy at all. My husband ordered pad see ew no spicy and that had some spice. Not sure if that's just the way they make it or if they mixed up the order. Overall food was okay. Not great, just okay. Would I pay $72 for this place again? No.

12/15/25- We were flying out from SFO and our flight wasn't scheduled to leave until 11:30pm so we decided to go and grab some food. Upon arrival the restaurant was really cozy. Very welcoming atmosphere. The server was friendly. We ordered garlic butter noodles, broccoli and shrimp, vegetable fried rice and Thai fried rice (I don't remember if that's the exact name) we also ordered fries and an orange juice. Our order came out hot which was nice. The food was mid, but paired with the chili oil it was good. We were eating but unfortunately there was a hair towards the bottom of the noodle. We decided to leave the rest of the food. It was annoying but I didn't want to make a fuss about it. We let the server know and she agreed to remove the noodle from our tab. It would be nice if this restaurant encouraged their employees to wear hair nets.

Good food and courteous service. We came here early at 5:15 and were one of the first clients. clean place. They have a full bar too. We will definitely be coming back.

Best crab puffs ever and I have tried them everywhere I've been. Service was great and we will definitely return. The flavor in the dishes were amazing.

This is a gem of a restaurant. Very friendly service, seems to be owned by family. My brother recommended we go here for a very late dinner as our plane landed in SFO. It's open until 1am! Usually restaurants don't open that late (that's what I love about NYC). Food was good-- lots of selection. I had the coconut noodle soup. Thank you for being open late so that we could grab a meal before we went home.

Crab. So good. Lots of flavors available. Lots of different cuisine here. Great noodles, crab rangoons, and the salt and pepper tofu was incredible. Service was so-so. First time we went she was super nice and explained things off the menu for us. Second time she was annoyed with any question and didn't want to come to the table for anything. We were the only ones in the restaurant so it's not because she was busy. We didn't order a vegetable side and she kinda judgingly asked if we were sure we didn't want at least one veggie side. No thanks, came for the crab and noodles, lol. Our soft drinks weren't refilled. It's a bar, not cute inside, but you go for the food. But we'll be back because the food was amazing and they're open super late.

The noodle soups are delicious! I saw other reviews recommending their thai/malaysian food, so I followed their advice and it paid off. They have some malaysian dishes that I don't see too often and will be back to try. Service was quick and friendly. They have a vast menu and full bar. Highly recommend for a late night bite!

    Rocelle F.

Beware: The food is loaded with MSG. It's dry AF and despite leaving a 20% tip, the service was lacking. And soda tasted rusty, idk. I'm not coming back!!!

The Hainan chicken meat was moist and juicy; the skin was springy and crunchy. Perfectly made. The noodle soup is lighter than I expected - I would try the rice next time. The server was super nice though and gave us some extra soup to take home since noodles soak up soup! The beef chow fun had perfect wok hay and the noodles were perfectly cooked with a light chewiness to it. The fish porridge hit the spot. Smooth fish, lightly seasoned and perfect thickness. Best of all, the price was so reasonable! The dishes average 14.99 here. Will definitely be back.

As one of my family's longtime, go-to spots along The Peninsula, it was equally surprising and sad…read morewhen we heard that Fat Wong's Kitchen had closed. Even though it had been a while since our last visit, we always found the food to be pretty consistent and reliable. So, after seeing that Garden Kitchen had taken their place, we had to come here to see how this place compares! Looking around inside, it's hard to tell that anything about this place has changed. Their configuration is largely the same, offering plenty of tables inside, for groups large or small, and the menu, while different, is still pretty interesting. While not a HK cafe, it has a cafe sort of feel to it. Along with a slate of appetizers, they also have congee, noodle soups, chow fun/chow mein, fried rice, rice plates, noodle soups, and specialty entrees, including hainan chicken, which seems to be their most popular dish. In addition, they also have some Chinese BBQ options, like Char Siu and Roast Duck, but, tragically, we didn't see roast pork listed. -- ROAST DUCK (QUARTER) I was cautiously optimistic for this one and, thankfully, it turned out great. The pieces we got were rather meaty and the skin on this was really flavorful and neither too soft nor dried out. -- HOUSE SPECIAL HAINAN CHICKEN (QUARTER) Not as amazing as we had hoped for, but still pretty solid. The pieces we got were a bit lean and the skin wasn't the greatest, but the chicken itself was cooked well and I liked the peanuts that this came with. -- SALT & PEPPER FISH FILET Although this wasn't as good as others I've had, this wasn't bad. On the plus side, the batter was crispy, the fish was moist, and there was a fair amount of garlic and peppers. On the other, the inside of the batter was really gummy. -- THREE COMBO MEAT STIR-FRIED RICE NOODLES Sadly, I just wasn't a fan of this at all. Although this had a decent mix of stuff in it, the noodles themselves were torn apart, overcooked, and just kind of tasteless. Pass. -- BEEF CHOW FUN Pretty standard, but still pretty good! The noodles had a nice bite to them and, surprisingly, the slices of beef weren't as tough as I feared they would be. Plus, the dish wasn't very oily either. -- DRY FRIED STRING BEANS WITH MINCED MEAT Nothing special, but still pretty solid. The string beans were cooked well and they didn't skimp on the meat. However, I wish they had used some XO sauce in this to add a stronger punch of flavors. -- BEEF BRISKET & TURNIP RICE PLATE Along with the Roast Duck, this was my other favorite dish here. The brisket was super tender and I really liked how the sauce had a nice beefiness and richness to it. -- BRAISED FISH FILET WITH TOFU & BLACK MUSHROOMS This didn't look all that impressive, but it was actually pretty good. The tofu and mushrooms were both great, but, like the salt & pepper fish, the batter felt a little gummy. -- TOMATO BEEF PAN FRIED NOODLES I didn't eat much of this one, so I can't say much about it. However, based on what I had, this was fine. The noodles were crispy, the portion was decent, and the beef wasn't chewy. -- SOY SAUCE CHOW MEIN For better or worse, this was kind of generic. There wasn't anything about this that stood out, but at least the noodles weren't overcooked nor was it salty/heavy on soy sauce. -- POTSTICKERS Ehh...this was fine. The filling wasn't too shabby and I liked how soft the skins were. However, I wish these had a harder and deeper crust on the bottom to give it that crunch. -- PORK & SHRIMP WONTON NOODLE SOUP Honestly, this had the potential to be so much better. Despite how this came with a fair amount of wontons that were all pretty plump, the broth was surprisingly bland and diluted. Beyond the food, service here is unremarkable, but not necessarily in a negative sense. Rather, there's nothing amazing about it, but all of the workers are still friendly enough and efficient while the kitchen gets orders out relatively quick, which is all you can really ask for. All in all, while a couple of our dishes were definitely pretty tasty, just as many underwhelmed while the rest were just okay. Combine that with how there usually isn't a line and how parking is super easy (they have a small lot, too) and Garden Kitchen is still a terrific option for a quick and convenient meal. Though, one that isn't quite as tasty as Fat Wong's used to be. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down.

The menu has so many great seafood options, especially if you're a crab lover. They offer a variety of different crab flavors, so there's a good chance you'll find one that fits your taste. The crab was flavorful, saucy, and so satisfying to dig into. They even give you bibs upon request, which honestly feels necessary if you're planning to go all in. The prawns were also a highlight. They were a decent size, cooked well, and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered the garlic noodles, which were great and exactly the kind of buttery, garlicky carb moment you want with seafood. The green beans were a nice addition too and helped balance out the meal with something fresh and veggie-forward. The only thing I'd probably skip next time would be the raw oysters which didn't taste as fresh. Their fried chicken was delicious though! Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly, which made the whole experience even better. Honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better casual seafood feast. Everything came out piping hot. The crabs were fresh, chicken wings were not overly battered, noodles were al dente, and pea sprouts were in season. Whenever I have crab, my favorite sauce/seasoning is the salted egg yolk. Just a hint of saltiness but packed full of umami flavors. After tasting the peppercorn flavor, I found myself loving it too! All the ingredients (peppercorn, tons of garlic "garlicky heaven", and butter) blended well together like one big happy family. This is my new favorite seasoning, a slight edge above the salted egg yolk, as it doesn't taste as greasy. I wish we had taken photos but I was very hungry. This place also has a full bar with 3 good size tv's, which is nice when you want to watch the nba finals too. I thought check-in was on the left as this was the waiting area, and there was a small 'reception' counter which I found confusing. Soooo just a note, be sure to check-in on the right side. We left a little past closing time (9pm) and they didn't rush us. Oh and we were given ice cream cones for dessert. Yuuummm!!! Will definitely be back and highly recommend. On this visit, we ordered the Shoyu Ahi Bowl with greens, the Hawaiian Style Ahi Bowl with greens, and the Kalua Pork & Cabbage plate. The Kalua Pork & Cabbage was the standout. It came with macaroni salad and rice, the portion was generous, the pork was tender, and the cabbage was soft, well-seasoned, and tasty. The ahi itself had a great texture and tasted fresh. However, both the Shoyu Ahi and Hawaiian Style Ahi bowls were already well-marinated, and the greens were dressed with the same sweet soy based sauce. The combination made the bowls a bit too salty and sauce heavy, which overpowered the natural flavor of the fish. By the time we finished our bowls, we found ourselves reaching for coconut water to help balance the saltiness. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. The restaurant was clean, the staff was efficient, and the Kalua Pork & Cabbage was definitely worth ordering. I just wish the ahi bowls had a lighter touch with the sauce so the freshness of the fish could really shine. We'd be happy to come back and try some of the other menu items. :)
