Please do not EVER use this company. My home warranty sent this company to me to fix a microwave. The tech came and said I needed the board replaced and that it will take a couple of days up to a week for it to arrive. Instead, I waited months for it. They blamed Christmas, then New Years, then Chinese New Years, and then COVID-19. But that's not even the worst part. So finally when the part finally came in, I scheduled for the repair. The morning of the repair, I called in to confirm if they were still coming, and the lady told me that it turns out the part that got sent was broken. (Interesting how they didn't call to tell me this.) So then I waited for another month or so for the part again. When it arrived, I again scheduled for the repairs. 4 no shows! First one, she claimed the tech had a car accident. Then the 2nd one, she claimed the tech just didnt show up, and she fired him after. 3rd one, she claimed they got busy, 4th time, no explanation at all. So in total, after 8 months and flaking on the appointments 5 times, my microwave was still not fixed. Also during this whole time, they would be really impossible to reach. Leaving voicemails won't do anything, because they will never call you back. In fact, not once did I get a callback despite asking for updates (like when the part arrived etc). I feel like i was beyond patient with them and keep accepting their excuses. Just for reference, I finally got fed up and called the home warranty and asked for a new repair company. C&P Repair came out and after a few weeks (waiting for the part again), the microwave is now working. I wished I had complained about A Plus Appliance MONTHS ago. DO NOT USE THIS APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICE COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Sharon, the owner, is a pathological liar. She is also a sadist who takes pleasure in knowing that her clients have no use of their broken appliances. Now, we all know how important it is to get a non functioning appliance up and running in the fastest time possible. I have had a refrigerator that was not working properly since July 01, 2015. We could not control the temperature in both the fresh food and freezer compartments. A+ came out on July 09 to diagnose the problem. They determined they needed a specific part for repair. Sharon told me the part was on back order and would be here within 3 weeks. Six weeks went by and they finally received the necessary part, only to tell me that it had come in damaged. Sharon said not to worry, she would get the part again in 1 week and install it. Yes, I'm thinking the same thing. How can she get a part in one week which originally took her six weeks to obtain? The part came 3 weeks later and they installed it. The refrigerator was still not fixed. They had MISDIAGNOSED the problem. Now we had to order a different part, which was on back order. Sharon said she would be able to get the part within a week. A week went by and no call. I called A+ and Sharon told me the part would take 3 more weeks to get here. During this time, my refrigerator shut down completely and I had to throw away all the food in the fresh food and freezer compartments. Next, I had to go out and purchase another smaller fridge for $500 because a family cannot be without a refrigerator. I called Sharon, told her what the situation was and asked her if she could get the part any sooner. Her answer was, "no, if I could make the part I would." At this point I had enough. I've been in business for 45 years and know how to get things done. I called the refrigerator mfg. and asked them the name and number of their parts distributor on the West Coast. They gave it to me and told me that this was their only certified parts distributor in Southern CA. I called them and it was true; they did not have the part in stock. However, they told me they could mfg. the part within 7-10 working days. What! How did 7-10 days turn into 6 weeks or even 3 weeks? One more thing; the parts distributor for my refrigerator told me that there were NO orders for that part on the books. A+ was supposed to have ordered that part more then one week ago. I explained my situation to the parts distributor and they made the part and drop shipped the part to A+ within 1 day! Amazing! What took a so called appliance repair company 6 weeks to get (a part), I (as an ordinary consumer) was able to get in 1 day. I had the part shipped to A+, 2nd day air and called Sharon to make an appt. (based on shipping info) to install it. She told me she could not make an installation appt. until she had the part in hand because the part coming in might be the wrong part. The part was delivered to A+ last Thursday (as confirmed by signature). Today is the following Monday. I have still not heard anything from A+. I called A+ and Sharon told me she hasn't found the part (yet) that was delivered and signed for last Thursday. Now, if you choose to do business with A+ after my experience you need to take yourself to the nearest psychiatrist. read more

So I was given this number by another place and I called them about my gas dryer having no heat. The lady, Sharon I think, that answered sounded kind of annoyed that i was calling her with my problems. She immediately said "well I just got back into the office let me call you back in 10 minutes..." It was 3:40pm on a Friday so after 15 minutes I gave up and called a different place. This place referred me to a guy named Luke that was incredibly friendly and helpful and scheduled an appt with me for tomorrow (Sat) but said he'll call back if he could make it this afternoon. It is now 4:15pm and Sharon from A Plus still hasn't called back. I'm not surprised given her general lack of enthusiasm, which is why I gave up so soon. I would definitely not recommend this company. I couldn't figure out how to give less than one star or I would have. They deserve zero stars. They failed in every way. Could only have been worse if they did not answer the phone or if it was disconnected. But at least then it would have saved me an awkward conversation and 15 minutes of my life. read more

We had to use A+ through our Home Warranty, they should be called F-. It takes a lot for me to leave a one or two star review. The owner, who also handles customers on the phone lacks (Sharon) emotional intelligence and is in desperate need of someone that can handle calls in a professional manner. It took over a month for them to fix our refrigerator and we hosted Thanksgiving, needless to say we had to utilize a lot of ice to compensate for their poor business processes. I recommended to American Home Shield that they drop this company but as all corporate politics go they did not, they still have them as a recommended company for our area and we have since dropped AHS as well. I have used A+ Appliance Repair for a few years now and the company has always been very helpful and knowledgeable. In the office I have spoken to both April and Sharon and the ladies were more than helpful in scheduling my appointment and actually doing what they said they would do. Tom Gardner has been the main repair person we have had and he is fantastic. He is so incredibly knowledgeable and extremely professional and fast. Not to mention he always has a smile and happy spirit. He is great about recommendations for certain appliances too if you need to replace an appliance. He looks at it from a repair perspective and how the appliance really works compared to other brands. He has worked on our washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator and stove top appliances and he fixed everything perfectly. I could not say enough good things about this company. To those who have had bad experiences it appears as if the main issue was timing of the service people to respond. The service people are scheduled as the requests are made and they (April or Sharon) cannot reschedule someone to accommodate a new request for service. So, do what I do and be patient. They ordered parts but apparently, still couldn't fix it. Technician assured us that insurance company would get a report but 6 weeks later, still have not received it. Confirmed that they would call on the way so that we would be 100% sure someone was there waiting since it involved taking time off work. Stepped out of the house for 5 minutes, with phone (just in case) and got an alert from our doorbell cam, and immediately walked out of neighbor's house in time to see truck already driving away. Waved frantically at driver who just kept going. Called office, which is closed at noon on Friday (despite only offering an 11-3 appointment slot) and driver didn't leave a card meaning I wasted an entire afternoon and took time of from work for nothing. I have been without a washing machine for 5 months. My warranty company sent out A plus to fix it. They have been at my place at least 10 times. It has never actually gotten fixed. I waited for 6 weeks for a water pump to come in to be fixed. The guy came and said that actually wasnt what was wrong with it and actually it needed a new transmission. We waited 3 weeks for that to come in and guess what. Still not working. I now have a flood all over my garage and I'm still unable to use my machine. Tom came out yesterday and had my refrigerator repaired in less than 20 minutes. What was so impressive is the source of the trouble was at the opposite end the result of the issue. Yet he had the issue located within 10 mins and repaired 10 mins later. Discovered another issue and will take care of that also. I called them for home warranty service on my oven and microwave. Guy shows up in unmarked van wearing dress shoes and a button down shirt that was several sizes too small so that every time he moved it exposed his gut and or a large patch of hair on his low back. I was willing to let this poor first impression slide as he seemed knowledgeable and all he really had to do was fill out a form and email to the home warranty people. Two weeks later they still haven't sent in the form to the home warranty people and im stuck with a broken oven and micro. RIP OFF Report: Avoid this business at all costs. Read their 42 one star reviews and avoid weeks of headaches. It all started with a visit on September 8 for a dryer that wouldn't heat. The initial visit was good. Tech provided written documentation that stated (3) sensors need to be replaced and he would have the office order the parts. Fast forward the next week, September 15, and with no info of any kind from A Plus...I call to ask the status of my parts. Eventually I was connected to "Parts Manager Tom" ,really the Owner, who said the parts weren't in yet and it would be another 5-7 days. Really? So I tell Tom that I could get the parts on Amazon in two days.....and he asks why I don't do that and fix it my self. Really? Aren't you getting paid to fix it Tom??? So, three hours later I get a call that he wants to come over fix everything. He shows up, with a small tool box and no visible parts of any kind. Did he hid them in his clothes??? Who knows. Remember, these were allegedly the same parts he didn't have three hours before and that would take another week to arrive. So Tom bangs around the laundry room for about 15-20 minutes...comes downstairs and tells me it's fixed. Remember, no visible parts, and no invoice or written documentation that he fixed anything...but he said it was fixed and if "6 towels didn't dry in 50 minutes...the exhaust line was clogged with lint". So I throw a load of towels in the dryer...and it doesn't work. Same exact problem as before....no heat....because Tom didn't actually do anything to fix it. It's Friday night, and I have a dryer full of wet towels. Tried to call Tom, no response. We call American Home Shield on Saturday, September 16 , who sent A Plus out in the first place and complain. They call Tom to see what's going on and he claims that the dryer vent must be clogged with lint. No, because we already checked that. Whatever. We spend $95 to hire a professional company to come out that very day and verify that the dryer vent is clear. They come, and find the line is clear and free flowing. Fast forward. What's Tom's response to the warranty company? That he actually changed the sensors and because the line was clogged with lint, the sensors blew out again. Really Tom, all three sensors failed after one load of towels? Fast forward to today. After a week of no responses and multiple attempts to find out the status of my repair, I reach someone in the office who refuses to answer any questions. Then I get a call from American Home Shield that they "won't allow harassment" of their contractors. Really? Calling someone who was hired to do a job for u is now harassment? Avoid this company at all costs and if you've already had a bad experience, consider filing a complaint with the state agency that regulates appliance repair at the link below. I had an excellent experience with A+ Appliance Repair. The technician, Tom, who arrived within two days of my requesting service, was not only professional and extremely knowledgeable, he also had a charming personality. He identified the problem with my washer straight away, and had the relevant part in his truck. He was therefore able to fix my washer within 10 minutes,and I was able to wash and dry my clothes the same afternoon. I am thoroughly satisfied with the service. read more

Terrible! They charge $75.00 to come out and provide a diagnosis and written quote they informed me that the $75 is not credited towards the repair. They came out removed my wine cooler and told me the problem but didn't provide the written quote. The tech that came did not put my unit back in correctly so he door doesn't close and did screw back on the front grill piece and I have know idea what he did with the screws, so not only do I have to get another repair person out but I have to get screws too. I've called and/or emailed 5x to get the written diagnosis and quote, they came out on Sept 25 and still nothing. I've now disputed the charge for the service call with my credit card company, maybe that will get them to give me the written diagnosis. Now I know why they don't credit the service call cost back as most appliance repair companies do, because they aren't getting called back to do the repair so they have to, in my opinion, charge for the service call. read more

I was put in contact with A+ through Fidelity Home Insurance. Initially my technician came on time. I was told he had to order a part and it would take 3-5 business days. He contacted me 2 weeks later to tell me the part shipped and it would be another 3-5 to arrive. I was told Sharon in the office would contact me to make an appointment. Sharon never called. So, I called to schedule the appointment a week in advance so my husband and I could arrange to be home and find a place for my 3 pit bulls to go for the evening. They gave us a 4 hour window between 2-6:00 p.m. The technician was a no call, no answer (personal cell phone), no show. I contacted the office and no one responded to my two voicemail messages. After contacting my insurance company suddenly Sharon calls me @ 7:00 p.m to tell me my technician is on way. Too late Sharon. My infant was asleep, my dogs were home. This company was completely unprofessional, rude, and inconsiderate of others time. My family lost pay, arranged for a dog sitter so my pit bulls didn't harass their technician, and wasted a whole day sitting around with a bored infant for nothing. Sharon said she would call me today @ 8:00 a.m. No call. They don't care about the customer at all. read more

They were called by AHS under warranty. They diagnosed a two built in kitchen aid refrigerator. It is set up to hold produce for the kitchen. It currently has water in the top drawer because it does not work. It is built and has a cabinet face to the unit. It is cover per the contract. The repair person diagnosed it as a free standing beverage center so they would not have to do the work. When i questioned them on this they said it wasn't covered because it wasn't our main fridge. The contract states that any built in fridge is covered. Then they said it was only built to hold beverages, however the description off Kitchen Aid states Panel Ready Double Door Refidge door. Most we as most people use it for produce as we normally except when it doesn't work, then we used the top drawer to store water. Their Office Manager Sharon is a really bad manager and does not take the time to hear you out and understand the situation. Their technician, Alex, came out, evaluated my microwave, and reported that there's an internal problem. However, my home warranty American Home Shield called and stated that Sharon reported to them that the problem was due to the "microwave has not been cleaned in forever" and because of negligence on my part, the warranty does not cover the microwave. I was so confused to hear that update because I have Alex on recorded audio confirming that my microwave was clean and that the issue was an internal problem and he's not sure why "the microwave has not been cleaned in forever" was reported to AHS. So clearly, we have a miscommunication between parties. I've been on the phone with Sharon to try to understand what happened. All she keeps saying is that I need to take it up with my home warranty (which I have - AHS is waiting for their comment about the report. This issue has been going on 3-4 weeks now). Sharon presses on what she thinks without having empathy. The funny thing about it is that I just want to understand what happened. Mistakes and miscommunication happen, let's correct the situation and move on. But for some reason, Sharon talks to me like shes in full defense mode, like shes going to be in trouble if she gives in or something, and gives politicians answer which still leaves me wondering what happened. Have some empathy to listen to your customers and be understanding of the situation. It's nobodys fault, but Sharon talks where you can tell she's deflecting, and Im just trying to understand what happened. I hope Sharon receives happiness and laughter moving forward. Better not to use this company. Just had very bad experience with them. The dryer was broken the day before the Labor Day. My home warranty company assigned them to do the repair. But after almost 4 weeks, the problem is still there. During this time period, they came over doing diagnostics one week after the job was assigned and found some fuses were burned out and need replacement with new ones, and then came to do repairs another week later. They then claimed to the warranty company that the job is done. But actually the same problem is still there and we cannot use it at all. I'm a real estate agent, and always recommend home a home warranty for my clients but you have to be prepared to do the dance and don't be afraid to request a good company when you need a repair. My refrigerator broke, and AHS sent out not one, not two but THREE different companies to check it out. The first two were completely incompetent. (I've wasted more hours of my life than I care to say fighting with AHS and taken numerous days off waiting for repair people who don't fix the problem or even diagnose it properly, so full disclosure: I have zero patience left.) The third company to come out for the refrigerator, was A Plus. Greg was our technician and he was WONDERFUL. We were without a functioning refrigerator in our kitchen for almost a month. He was assigned to help us on a Friday and was supposed to come on Saturday, but he asked if he could come on Friday evening instead to take a look (umm, yes please!). After working a long day, he took the time to come to our house at night, was professional and knowledgable and nice and actually got everything taken care of. I read a lot of these reviews and all of the negatives, and suspect that a good portion of the negative experiences were due to the warranty company and not the repair company. Don't be afraid to complain to the warranty company when they drop the ball, and escalate your complaint if necessary. If your real estate agent recommended the company, get them involved. They can often have the warranty sales rep intervene and get things accomplished with a slightly smaller headache. Tom, Sharon and the A Plus Appliance team used to be my go-to appliance repair company. I know employees come and go, so service levels can change over time. Unfortunately, the last few service calls with A Plus Appliance did not go well. On their last visit, the service tech accidentally dropped the pull-out section of our built-in refrigerator's ice maker onto the kitchen floor breaking it. Then he called out a few vulgar words as he was mad at himself, all while my wife was watching. He left the house with the problem worse than it was when he got there and then never returned. I called Tom, the owner who was not interested in fixing his service techs accident. This is not how this company used to operate. Tom used to be understanding, responsive and responsible. Washer & Dryer needs fixing & it's been a week and no word on when they will be back to fix it or not. Said the lines and air gap were cleared on dishwasher. Interesting because there is no air gap on the dishwasher. I called them back and was on hold for 17 mins and no answer. My lunch break was over. I'm so irritated. We have had a broken oven door since DECEMBER 26th 2020. This business was assigned to us and here we are in august 2021 still waiting. We have made several calls and continue to be told lies. First it was they were waiting on our home warranty company (which was a lie because I spoke to them), then it was they were waiting on the part to come in (it doesn't take 6 months unless they are ordering internationally which they claimed just from their wholesaler in the states) then it was they were booked out and were going to give us a call back when they could squeeze us in.
