I have been to A. Romo's cafe twice in the last week and it is my new go to place in Hayward. It's a little hard to find but so worth it. They have a small offstreet parking lot. The café and the outdoor patio area are totally charming, painted and decorated with bright Mexican colors and succulents. Adan and Mecha I've been there on both of my visits, super friendly and welcoming. (And bilingual) Adan explained to my friend and I the things that were special about their Café: the house specialty Cafe de Jolla, homemade pastries and empanadas, and the delicious Chia pudding. On my first visit with a friend we both had salads. The portions are very generous and they come with delicious house made dressings. Mecha gave us each a pastry to try and also a sample each of the Chia pudding which were all delicious. My second visit was for breakfast. I had the avocado toast which comes with a side salad with their delicious lemon Caesar dressing. If you get one of the large salads like the Cobb, as I did, be sure to ask for extra salad dressing which is a delicious green dressing. I tried the Café de Jolla today, which was good but it was a little bit too sweet for me. Next time I will just get a latte or a mocha. Another really nice touch is that if you ask for water they bring you a small glass and a beautiful glass bottle of water. I can't wait to try more dishes from their menu on future visits. Two suggestions for the staff: It would be great if you had a brighter, more colorful sign to make the café easier to find from A Street. Also, I love sitting in the patio but the seats are very hard for older people or people with skinny butts! It would be nice to have some seats that were cushioned. I love Café A. Reach this cafe shop because of good review so I had try a lot of foods, chai bowl , fresh Oj , lunch sandwich and their salad , everythings are good and fresh made . I were seating there for 5 hours with my computer for work, it is not much of seating space beside the back patio, it was cold weather that day , so be sure to bring your jacket if you decide to seating long hours as me . I was in the area for a few days and went to this place twice. Very modest looking from the street, but it's incredibly cute inside with a great shaded outdoor seating area. The cafe de olla was bomb and the ambience is so tranquil! They have mini cactus and the outside seating is very relaxing. The ladies who work there are super sweet and they really cater to you! Try their chia speciality! And the empanadas with cheese and jalapeno and ham is delicious!! read more

I was in Hayward and wanted to have breakfast. I found this place on Yelp and it got a high rating so we decided to give it a try. From the outside the cafe didn't look like much, but upon entering it was cozy, warm and decorated with a Mexican touch. After we ordered we sat in the cutest patio area. Their breakfast/lunch menu consisted of sandwiches with salad and a few different types of coffee. I ordered a turkey, bacon sandwich which was served on a lightly toasted roll and delicious. The salad was simple and the dressing was excellent with a slight lemon flavor. The food was flavorful, fresh and our sandwiches were generous. The coffee is served in Mexican mugs which I thought was a nice touch and enjoyed drinking out of. I ordered the Chai and it lacked spices and tasted more like lightly spiced warm milk. I forgot to mention that while we were waiting for our order they served us a small plate of a chia pudding that was creamy with a hint of coconut topped with a toasted granola and fresh berries - delicious! Other than the coffee, which I suspect they need to improve on, we enjoyed our experience here and can't wait to try something else on the menu but I'll have a coke! read more
