Fantastic experience, so easy to schedule and pay online. German delivered and picked up the bins at the times I scheduled online, he sent texts to confirm before and gave a 30 min arrival warning. When our movers arrived to start the move they were pleased to see the bins stacked and ready to go, they like working with them because they are easy to stack and load in the truck. From start to finish this company took care of us. Everyone was friendly and professionaL. called on a Saturday and they delivered 50 bins the next day! We had to pack a 1900 sq ft home with 4 bedrooms. We even purchased wrapping paper and the insurance coverage that takes care of any broken bin; we still paid under $180. You've got to find/buy them, bring them home, assemble them, close them, open them, break them down, and dispose of them. And, who likes handling packing tape? How it works: This company drops off a load of sturdy res-usable plastic boxes before your move, and then picks them up after your move from your new house. You choose how many and how long you need them for. The boxes close easily, have handles to help you carry them and stack perfectly. The company also loans you a special dolly to wheel around a stack securely. My experience: I have used them for two moves now and they provide excellent service. A Smart Move makes packing and moving clean, neat and easy. No more cardboard boxes to assemble and disassemble and no packing tape. They brought 25 plastic crates to my house. I pack up my stuff in the crates which made the job of the movers easier. Every crate is the same size and stackable and durable. 2 weeks later they swung by the house and picked up the crates. This system is the easiest to schedule, receive, pack, move, and return. There really is no comparison for durability of their containers. It rained the day of our move, and can't imagine how cardboard would have fared. The movers loved these boxes because they modulate together and are quick to handle and load. Had such a great experience with A Smart Move! I moved my two bedroom apartment (myself and two kids) with 2 weeks and 35 boxes. I had the perfect amount of boxes necessary, and it was surprising just how much time and hassle you save from not assembling boxes. Not one glass, vase, or picture frame was broken in the move thanks to the sturdy boxes, so that's a win in and of itself! I think unpacking is the best part though. The fact that you have to unpack by a certain time so they can pick up the boxes is HUGE. I have gotten settled after this move faster than ever before. Everyone at the company was great, polite, flexible with drop-off/pick-up times, and quick to respond. Our 3bd move only had a handful of boxes and the wrapping paper as waste! All the prices are available upfront online and the order was placed in minutes. If I would have realized how easy it was to use these plastic boxes, I would have done my whole move using them. I bought traditional cardboard boxes to begin with and then I found A Smart Move when I needed to buy more boxes. They stack nicely on top of each other, no tape is necessary as they have interlocking tops and I didn't have one broken item in any of the rented boxes. I needed 75 boxes for my 2 bedroom place (including a garage), but we have lots of stuff. Each box does not hold a great deal, but easy to move around, close, and stack. I used moving tubs through A Smart Move for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I must say that I will never go back to moving boxes and tape again. The tubs were so much sturdier than a box. They stack nicely, making fitting them in the moving truck simple (and not a game of Tetris). We had a terrific experience with A Smart Move during our recent local move. We'd never heard of renting boxes before, but it sounded like a brilliant idea that would save us time, money, hassle - and a lot of trees. We spoke directly with Lindsay to set everything up, and she was knowledgeable and helpful. She advised us on the different options for the rental and pick up. We included packing paper with our rental, as well. On the delivery date, we received our boxes, zip ties, and packing paper. The boxes are fairly large, sturdy and easy to stack once packed. We labeled our boxes with pieces of write-on tape. Soon, we discovered we needed additional boxes! We called, not expecting someone to answer, but Lindsay did! She was accommodating and delivered additional boxes the next day for us. Pick up was hassle-free; we left the boxes outside, left for work, and the delivery driver picked up all boxes. The only challenges were that the boxes themselves were fairly heavy, and it did end up being a little challenging to carry them downstairs after we had moved in. Once the boxes are packed, they definitely have some weight to them. And when they are empty and stacked, they are also pretty heavy. We could only carry 2-3 boxes downstairs at a time. On the plus side, the heaviness meant they were really sturdy and completely protected our belongings - just know they aren't light and be prepared for some work when you're actually unpacking. Overall, we are very happy with the entire experience with A Smart Move. We would definitely use this service again! read more

What a great service and environmentally conscious way to move. I used them on my move and will recommend to everyone I know. The plastic totes are super easy to pack and use and because everything was labeled, the movers knew exactly where to put everything. Not one thing got broken and I was also pleased to see that the paper that we used for wrapping fragile items was also reused. We flattened it back out when we were finished and sent it back along with the totes so it could be reused again. I think it realistically could get between 6-10 uses, which is phenomenal. I only had to use around 10 cardboard boxes for the items that I needed to store and not unpack right away. I believe our move used around 200 totes. They come in 2 sizes so you can organize heavier things in the smaller ones so they aren't too heavy. Another very cool thing about this service is they deliver the boxes to your door along with the paper and they come pick them up when the move is over. One thing to note is the timing of the rental boxes. I believe that you get them for a week but then you have to give them back so you'll need to prepare yourself for that. They might offer a longer rental period for more money but, thankfully, I used silver linings transitions to help me unpack and we were finished quickly. This is a great service and a great company. read more

I reached out to several other companies that offer reusable moving boxes and A Smart Move was by far the best! My previous residence was within their service area, but my new residence was not - Lindsay was able to work with me to have the boxes dropped off and picked up in their service area and saved me $$. I also got my delivery of boxes several days earlier than requested at no extra charge which was GREAT. When I asked the delivery driver if I was getting the boxes early because they just picked them up from another customer and the drop would be convenient he let me know that they don't do that - They take the boxes back from the previous customer and completely clean them before delivering to a new customer! They also provide labels for the boxes and zip ties to close the boxes at no additional charge. When it came time for them to pick up the boxes, I neglected to bring one box back on the date of pick up. I thought for sure I was going to get hit with a late or lost box charge but again Lindsay was very helpful and she scheduled another pick up later that week at no extra charge. Hadn't heard of renting boxes before, but my daughter recommended them to us after having used them for a move. We found them to be really helpful. This was a great service. The clean and sturdy boxes were delivered when requested and picked up at the requested time. They really made moving just a little bit easier which is a big deal since moving can be exhausting.
