EDITED REVIEW: I originally left a positive review because this was my second time working with this company, and initially, I thought the move had gone well. Unfortunately, after seeing the condition of my belongings in storage, my experience completely changed. They moved my belongings from San Diego to a storage unit in LA. When I went to the storage unit to move everything into my new apartment, I was extremely disappointed by the condition of my items. I have a lot of beige and light-colored furniture, and many of my belongings were not wrapped or protected properly. As a result, several items are now black, dirty, and stained. There were also issues on the actual moving day. They arrived late, and during the drive from San Diego to LA, we made three separate stops along the way. I tried to be understanding and accommodating each time because I did not feel comfortable leaving the movers alone with all of my belongings. The entire move ended up taking approximately 8 hours. I also booked two movers, but on the day of my move, the crew consisted of one adult man and a very young-looking worker, which was not what I expected when booking two professional movers. What disappointed me the most was how the situation was handled afterward. I contacted both numbers I had previously been communicating with, explained what happened, and sent photos showing the condition of my belongings. Neither responded for days. When I followed up again and explained that I would be updating my review to reflect my actual experience, I was essentially told that they "didn't do it," questioned why I was contacting them, and told that my belongings were "just dirty" and could be cleaned, so they did not see a problem. Regardless of whether something can be cleaned, I paid for my belongings to be moved and stored with reasonable care. I should not have received my furniture back significantly dirtier than when it was picked up, especially when proper wrapping and protection could have prevented this. I'm highly disappointed because this was my second time using this company, and my first experience was positive enough that I trusted them again. Unfortunately, between the condition of my belongings and the response I received when I raised my concerns, I would not use them again. read more

I love it when I make the right decision. I made my move request for quote thru Yelp which worked very well. I had several responses to choose from and all were responsive & friendly. I chose Sam at Sun City Movers because he seemed the most willing to accommodate my needs without a monetary premium. He showed up on time and I signed the contract and he and his partner got to work. They are careful but know how to hustle. His hourly rate is lower than anyone else that quoted my project and he has no minimum time clause and no extra charge for tape, shrink wrap, bubble wrap or anything else he used on my job. In fact when he gave me the bill it was 30% less than anyone else had quoted. I will defiantly recommend him. I truly can't think of how MHM's could have improved their service. From the first Yelp message through the final email confirmation of my payment, they communicated quickly and transparently. They sent texts and emails the day ahead and called and gave me a 15-minute arrival window the day of (which they met). They quoted me a really competitive price and kept within that budget. Despite the stairs and heat, Eddie and Danny were incredibly nice, funny, considerate, and respectful of the items being moved throughout the whole process. These guys were great and I highly recommend them. They showed up on time and went to work as quickly as they could to pack everything into the truck safely and efficiently. I have heavy professional exercise equipment and they were very patient as I hovered anxiously nearby and gave directions.
