4.5 Solid boba spot, and much less pricey than ding tea! Location: in a cute little plaza with a decent amount of parking in the back Decor: cute and bright decor with plenty of tables and chairs. There was a little Harry Potter themed section when I came in Menu: the drink selection included many of the classics: milk teas and fruit teas, as well as some interesting flavors and toppings... salted egg yolk, lotus, mashed taro, flavored Crystal boba. They don't have blended drinks though Price: drinks are priced at around $3.99 before toppings which is really good for SoCal and definitely compared to the Ding Tea down the street which can run you $5+ for just the base drink. I think the sweet spot for these drinks (for me) is 75% sweet with toppings. I'd definitely come back to try other drinks but this time we got the Sinking Violet (matcha and ube, ube flavor was very light and matcha was the tiniest bit grainy but I would order it again), winter melon lotus milk tea (winter melon flavor is mild but the drink was nice and floral) and the ube milk tea (again very light ube flavor). The toppings were really good though: brown sugar boba had a strong brown sugar taste and taro mash was nicely sweetened and thick. They use non dairy milk + condensed milk in their milk tea so if you're lactose intolerant (like me) make sure they keep the condensed milk out! read more

Love to see a good boba shop in this part of town! I heard good things about this place and I wanted to try it out! Came here and ordered about 5 drinks for friends and the staff was super nice and patient with all the drinks and everything came out as ordered! I personally had a fruit tea with 25% sugar and I was a little disappointed that there was a lack of fruit flavor. The tea itself was pretty decent! The 4 other drinks that my friends ordered were really good according to everyone. Creme brulee drinks are the way to go apparently! Friends got the "Under The Weather" and the "Creamsicle" and they were it was really good! Might be the move when I come here next time.. read more

Cute new boba place! I got the crème brûlée winter melon with brown sugar boba. You can choose your ice and sugar level and they have a variety of options! The place is very cute and colorful. :) didn't have a chance to try anything else but it looks good. I will have to come back to try more! read more

I'm a 3.5 for this place. The service and friendliness is what will get me to come back and return. The people were so overly nice and I loved that, given I had a workday I ordered a jasmine green tea with crystal boba and a the consistency of the crystal boba was odd. They were too hard and kinda clumped together. None were slurped during my drink and just ate them all after since they created a clan at the bottom. I did really love the flavor of my other drink - taro milk tea with regular boba. This drink was lovely and perfect with regular boba. The ambiance is cute but, personally, the lighting is too "hospital light" bright as a spot to WFH, or else I would. Overall, I'd come back read more

My first time trying A Tea 7, and it was so yummy! I definitely need to come back to try their other flavors and options. I ordered the Sinking Violet which has ube drizzle and match green milk tea with brown sugar boba. Add ons are an additional cost but this particular drink comes with the boba already in it. Boba was nice and chewy but not too soft, which I like. Milk tea was good, couldn't taste the ube much bc it's just the drizzle but next time I'll add some more or maybe some mashed taro or other toppings to try out (they have a lot!) Would definitely come back. Next time I want to try something light.. maybe their flavored teas without the milk. read more

This is my first time trying this location and I have to say, it is AMAZING!! Based upon reviews I knew I was either going to get the paramount or the creamsicle, but based upon the description of the drink, i knew i had to try the creamsicle. Despite the name, it tastes nothing like the creamsicle popsicles, it's very creamy and has the perfect sweetness level, with no citrusy flavor. It tastes like brown sugar and caramel, and the foam tastes a bit like cheesecake, which pairs PERFECTLY with the rest of the flavors. I will definitely be coming back to try the paramount next!! The shop is really clean and cute, has a very fresh feel to it, and the service was prompt and the worker was very sweet! i didnt see it mentioned anywhere within the reviews or on the menu, but they do have milk alternatives! oatmilk, soymilk and almond milk. SO happy to have found a cute boba shop in SD. Lovely, cozy area with outlets, comfortable seating, and spacious tables inside! If you're looking for a place to study, relax, or grab a drink, A Tea 7 is a must-try. The drinks we had were the On Cloud9 (Jasmine Tea with Cream Cheese, Brown Sugar Boba) and the Peach Please (Peach Tea with Peach and Star Lychee Jellies). Craving some boba, I decided to check out A Tea 7! I came here on a Monday afternoon, so it wasn't too busy and I was able to get a good table. This place is amazing for studying and doing work, since the tables are huge and the seating is so comfortable. I got the Sinking Violet while my friend got the Cookie Monster. We both have a pretty sweet tooth, so if you like sweet drinks, this place is perfect for you! The boba was nice and chewy and the matcha flavor in my drink was great! Very cute place but terrible parking (almost no spots and very thin spots on a Thursday night) and very loud inside with lots of customers speaking loudly. I'm sure it isn't always loud in there so I would definitely come back! The wifi didn't work though...kind of bummed about that. I hope they get it fixed since they have two or three signs inside with the wifi listed. The staff members were really nice and my Honey Milk Tea was amazing! Got the On Cloud 9 and Sinking Violet drinks. Both are very good and flavorful. The brown sugar boba tastes super fresh. I've loved every drink I've tried, milk tea and fruit tea. I got the Paramount (creme brulee lotus milk tea with brown sugar boba) and Jasmine milk tea with regular boba. The lotus tea flavor is very smooth and the creme brulee topping is a fantastic accent to the drink.The Jasmine milk tea is also very good. The boba has just the right texture, squishy on the outside and enough firmness to give you something to bite into. Both the regular boba and the brown sugar boba taste good. The staff are very patient and friendly. The interior is clean and has a good layout. It feels very welcoming. I live in Arizona, and every time I go to California I feel motivated to drive 6 hours to A TEA 7. I usually get the Creamsicle, and it's really good. I drank two of them in one day. The next day, I drank another one again. They didn't have boba for a while, but I did not care and drank all of it in exactly 2 minutes and 44 seconds. My family members also are obsessed with A TEA 7. The staff are really nice, too. The environment feels comforting and safe. read more

What a gem in El Cajon! We came close to closing time and ordered 2 bubble teas but they were out of boba. The manager was so kind and made us a fresh batch of boba just for us. The staff was beyond kind in thanking for our patience while waiting. The boba tasted sooooo heavenly. A Tea 7 offers interesting boba tea options. We tried the Lotus Milk Tea with aloe and oolong milk tea with aloe. I am not sure about the flavor of lotus milk tea. It's not bad but not exactly good. The oolong milk tea was better. The tea flavor was stronger. The aloe was so so. Overall, okay boba tea place. I see the potential for other tea or drink options. read more

Rain and ALL I got a Wintermelon Green Milk Tea with Cheese Foam and Original Crystal Boba (I got less toppings) My first sip was so fragrant the owner torched the foam (I love a good torch on my foams) and there is something about how all three elements... Came here because it was near work, it's a great space with board games and big seats. Good to study or hang with friends. The first time I came here, the drink I got was awful it tasted really artificial and poor quality, but I definitely ordered the wrong thing as the second time around I got the jasmine green tea (recommended by employee) and it was so good, almost comparable to the OO tea one. I would come here if you want a lot of options and creative drinks to choose from, they prepare the drinks fast too. read more

I ordered two tai teas and they were very good. I accidentally ordered the drink too sweet and the guy at the register was nice and remade them for us. The workers were very nice and the store had a nice environment as well. Something to keep in mind when you order: 100% sweet is very very sweet, if you like your drink not overly sweet get 50% The boba is not made with brown sugar and I think its made with white sugar, so it doesnt taste like boba from most places read more

A new boba stop in town! As a boba freak, in a way, i have to check it out. Almost every boba shop has some of the same drinks, for example, honey milk green tea and jasmine green milk tea. Both are my favorites by the way. The thing that stands out is the different flavors of crystal boba. So far i have tried the mango/taro/cherry blossom crystal boba (i love crystal boba more than any other toppings). Believe it or not, but these toppings do make the drinks taste better, with the right combination of course. And also depends on your taste. The parking lot is kind of small though. I have not had any difficulties yet, but i could imagine the frustrations of no parking during rush hours. You will enter the shop through the back entrance, where the parking lot is. The inside is nice and clean. Has LED light panels on wall. The owner is nice and has good customer service. I havent encountered their staff a lot, but i hope he will train them well like himself. Customer service is really important for me thats why. The only gripe i have is the cups' style. They're easily spilled because they're not completely sealed. If you only come for 1 drink, and or is drinking it right away then no problem. However, every time i come i buy at least 4 drinks (for family as well). They do have cup carriers and bags. I recommend asking for the bags if you buy 2 or more to go and you are by yourself. However, i still am have to be careful because the drinks can still spill during rough rides. San diego roads are not the best you know. Update 12/16/21: The owner replaced all the cups to the completely sealed cups! I know this doesn't mean anything to a lot of people, but this is a very important change for me! Whoo! No more worries about getting the drinks spilled on the ride anymore. Ive never been so excited about sealed cups before! read more

I was getting tired of paying $7+ for a large boba milk tea from the other establishments nearby and im sooooo glad I found this place. A large milk tea with topping is still $5 and even their specials are only $5.50 and it's amazing! Talk about a bang for your buck. I happened to come in during their anniversary so there was an extra BOGO on top of that! The decor was cute, the workers were nice, quick, and attentive. I attempted to sound sure and asked for the special that day which was a delicious sounding matcha latte that I requested iced. Deep regret filled my heart as I focused long enough to observe the menu, seeing a pantheon of unique drinks that all would likely make my head spin. Almost clairvoyantly detecting my fear of missing out; she recommended some of the food options, making me an insanely delicious, filled croissant. She gave me an extra because she could somehow tell that I'm perpetually hungry. Not leaving anything to chance I opted for the fresh baked cookie sitting on the counter shelf as well. As I briefly waited and enjoyed my order, people came and left all seemingly captured by that same feeling washing over me. Bliss. I've been back to Uni Coffee multiple times now and each time I get to enjoy another handcrafted drink recommended almost specifically for me. I sit and enjoy the regulars sharing their stories with Angela as she listens intently and shares her thoughts. I curse myself for spending years making instant coffee at home or picking up some formulaic drink after waiting in a queue while the people around me stare at their phones. They say the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, but second best is today. With that, I thank the girl on the basketball court for teaching me it's not too late to appreciate the good things in life.
