And we did notice that most people who were here were getting takeout during the prime lunch hour on a weekday. The menu had a lot to choose from. But as soon as I saw that they had kalua pork loco moco, two of my favorite Hawaiian dishes, I had to get it. The kalua pork was tender and had a smoky flavor to it, and it was delicious on a bed of rice, topped with beef gravy and fried eggs, with that runny yolk. To balance it all out, I added some hot sauce for some kick, which was the way to go. It was a very good dish that did not disappoint. We don't often get Hawaiian food, but eating at Saimin Says made me miss it. If I'm back in the area, I'll have to try their actual namesake, the saimin, which I imagine is comfort food, like any noodle soup dish should be. Glad to have discovered this spot.
