This poorly ran company was responsible for booking our stay. It was a horrible experience at best. Poorly maintained rooms... don't let the online pictures fool you. The rooms have a foul odor to them and the entire "apartment" feels rather unsanitary. If you expect to use any of the amenities as described in your booking, think again. These are apparently just fluff for the listing and are not guaranteed to be there and/or functioning at the time of your stay. The property managers are also crooks. When questions about the missing fees and filthy rooms, they suggest you can always cancel lose 50% of the fees you paid. Such a huge disappointment to a long awaited vacation. I booked with them. And we had a family emergency do we were saddened to have to cancel. Thet won't give us the full refund. Asked if they would message the property owner amd refused go try. First night in condo 3105 my wife pulled back bedspread and found small black droppings on the sheets also some type of human stain on the sheet. Condo looked like it definitely needed updating and missing base tile in kitchen. But we stuck it out for a couple days. The final thing was when my wife went to throw something in the garbage under the kitchen sink and saw a mouse in the garbage can, there was a rodent poison trap in the back of the cabinet so it was not like they didn't know there was an issue. Had to stay with sister in law and brother in law till we could get another condo that we found on our own that was actually an open house for sale and the owners let us rent it, did I mention AA was no help in finding us a condo. They did refund the rest of our stay, but said hope you enjoyed your stay and that checkout was 11am, and please give us a review. Well here it is AA Oceanfront Rentals and Sales. I booked with AA Oceanfront Rentals and prior to doing so I requested,via email, clarity on their cancellation policy. I am including their response below. Unfortunately I did have to cancel due to my father's health. I was within the 30 days and they kept the $240 as I expected but they also said they deducted an addition $136.00 for insurance and I would need to make the claim through their insurance. My fault for not properly reading the contract when it arrived. Just be warned the cancellation policy has some hidden costs. Here is their response to my initial email prior to booking. Our cancellation policy is as follows: There is a $200 cancellation fee if the reservation is canceled 30 days or more prior to the arrival date, plus the $40 reservation fee is retained. We had searched for the perfect oceanfront condo right on the beach. We found the unit that met these criteria with dates that worked. We were supposed to check in at 3:00 PM. We called the office to let them know that we had arrived at 1:00 PM. They told us we would not be able to check in until 3:00 pm. No problem. We received a call at 3:00 pm (check in time) to let us know we would not be able to check in due to a flood in the unit above the unit we were going to rent. We understand that things happen with Condominiums, however, it seems to be me that "Management" would have known about this much sooner than 3:00 pm that day. We were offered a place that wasn't anything close to ocean/beach front near a huge construction mess, with "We're not sure how long you can stay there and where you would go after that." By the way, no assistance with directions, where it was located and really any kind of helpful attitude! Per the contract, they did refund our payment. It says they have these rights in the contract, however, the communication was really terrible and not helpful in this extremely stressful situation. It was spring break. We had to try to find a place for 10 days during this extremely busy time in Maui. Miraculously, we did find a super friendly and helpful property in the area we were hoping to stay. Unfortunately, almost double the cost! AA Oceanfront said there was nothing they could do. We will carefully read reviews about Rental Management Companies in the future. read more

AA Oceanfront was wonderful to work with for our 14 day stay in Kihei at the Maui Sunset 215. We had NO issues with check in or check out or have any issues when we were there. Would book with them again if we came back to Maui. The condo was very clean when we arrive with plenty of towels, boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, cooler, and it had a full kitchen and washer and dryer. For a family who doesn't cook at the condo a lot, it's perfect. Maui sunset has all the amenities and well kept grounds. Beautiful views and beach front. Spacious main living quarters. The cons about the unit is that there are minimal cooking tools. Like a cheese grater- they only have a zester. No baking sheets/pans/pie plates, no containers for storage of left overs, ( I bought some and left there for the next), the dishwasher doesn't close properly or wash well and looks brand new, we had some ants even with everything sealed up (prob just comes with the territory), bathrooms are rather tiny and the hot water runs out while the second person is showering, no bathtub to conserve water for bathing young kids, and my biggest complaint is there were NO cleaning supplies left for cleaning up or sanitizing. (I'm a clean freak so maybe that's just me, but I bought cleaning supplies and extra trash bags and left them). The air conditioner in master didn't work well- kept saying check filter...and the cleaning lady was there super early At 10:20 before check out at 11 and kept asking us when we would be out of there. we ended up leaving at 10:45 because she kept bugging us. So overall a good experience but would have liked a few more things to feel more at home in the kitchen but I feel that is based more upon the owner vs the rental agency. We rented a unit here 7/23 - 7/28 2017 #2108. It had dead roaches along all the walls. Very tiny ones. Hard to tell the difference between that and the mice feces. Feces piled in all corners of this unit. It's been there for awhile. It was dry and old. Mixed with the new feces. We had to clean the bathroom to use it. The walls of the shower are turning black. It is a amazing location. The only reason we decided to tolerate this dirty unit. Easy access to food and beaches. Bus stops very close. For up and down Kihei Rd. I can not recommend this unit nor would I go back. A.A Rentals. Shame on you for putting out this kind of product.. read more

Never never never!!. They are totally unreliable. We booked a vacation rental through one of their staff named Joanna. We payed the booking amount and confirmed the reservation, which was in itself not easy. Just 2 weeks before out flight they they told us they have to cancel our " confirmed" reservation because they overbooked. No options, no compensation. And they will charge you if you do the same to them. Please don't waste your time as they can do this anytime leaving you without any options. Stay away if you want to avoid the stress. read more

Spent 4 nights here and had a wonderful experience. Room was stocked with more than what we expected - plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards, an umbrella, a cooler, and beach mats. Our kitchen was essentially fully stocked, even including salt and pepper, and other basic spices/condiments you wouldn't expect to have. We were given a great description of the area beforehand and they were very helpful with providing us with everything that we needed to explore Kihei and the rest of the island. Location was prime - beach was right across the street, and there were plenty of little shops within a 10 minute walking distance for last minute necessities and souvenirs. It was affordable and more than what we needed for our stay - would choose staying with AA Oceanfront over one of the overpriced resorts in the area. read more

We booked a unit with AA oceanfront at the Kihei Surfside. While the location was prime, and the layout of the condo was great, the cleanliness lacked in a huge way. On our first night we pulled out the hide-a-bed to find old Gatorade bottles, wrappers and what looked like mice droppings everywhere. So, I slept on the couch and used my husbands jacket as a blanket. Not exactly my ideal first night on vacation. I called AA rentals and spoke to a Quinn who reimbursed us that night and sent a cleaner over to take care of the mess and provide bedding for the hide-a-bed. The cleaner actually commented on what a mess the unit was. The living room had one wall of mirrors which the cleaner started to clean...as the week progressed we found more unsatisfactory, and less than adequate situations. To list a few: the hall bathroom toilet had a hair on it, the fridge ice machine didn't work, the microwave was hit or miss, the pots and pans had grease everywhere and under the master bed were hair clips and socks. Our young daughter wanted to bathe yet the bathtub needed some serious elbow grease so that didn't happen...the backsplash in the kitchen was filthy, too. The list goes on but these are the major ones to note. Needless to say, as a traveler who is spending hard earned $ I didn't appreciate the fact this was our week. Was it the end of the world...no. Was it a shame, yes. Never in all my travels have I experienced something like this, and it was disturbing. Upon our return home I emailed Quinn, who forwarded my message to Valkyrie, the VP of Operations. Valkyrie responded via email saying the owners of this unit hired their own cleaning staff and that this wasn't the 1st complaint they'd received about the cleaning, and that she apologized but it was a human business and not perfect. If Valkyrie reads this she should understand that the owners are trusting in AA to REPRESENT their unit, therefore, AA should have ensured this wouldn't happen after the 1st complaint. I asked Valkyrie if there is a check on the cleaning of units before travelers occupy. To that question I did not get an answer. I feel that my week should have been discounted further than one night free. It is the principle of the matter that I feel needs to be acknowledged here. Valkyrie offered a maximum discount should we choose to travel in 2015 around the same time. Unfortunately, 15% wasn't going to make a difference for travel. Honestly, I was thinking far more all things considering. To the owners of the property; thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with total strangers and trusting in us to stay and respect your condo unit. To Valkyrie....you should reevaluate the way your business operates with the cleaning. I feel it's safe to say that more units you represent are like the one we stayed in, yet, you do nothing but offer a silly discount to make it better. No thanks Valkyrie, I'd rather pay the difference in price elsewhere instead of using AA to meet my vacation needs. read more
