On top of that, the repair quality is horrible. Attached is photos of what the owner did to my engine flex plate because he was too cheap and irresponsible to fix it correctly. If you Google anything about damaged flex plates , everything says do not reuse it as it can destroy lots of other parts . speaking with other customers, and ex employees of this location, if you bring your car in for a fluid leak, he will recommend a transmission replacement, even if it's not the transmission that's leaking. techs will verify that the transmission is not the problem, and Wesley will take it for a drive and suddenly it needs a new one. on top of shoddy work and lying about repairs, customer service is awful. when you call you get ahold of tom who sounds like your call is an inconvenience to him. Absolute scam beware! We got a diagnostic saying our car had an issue on the transmission speed sensor and we made an appointment with AAMCO. After agreeing to the $125 price for a diagnostic they said they would call us early in the afternoon, they actually waited until a day later to call! They could not give us a diagnostic and kept suggesting a transmission repair worth thousands of dollars or have their guys explore what's wrong with the car for $450 more. They said $125 for a diagnostic, yet they did not provide one and wanted $450 for a proper one after a day!! They charge a $60-80 fee for each day they hold your car, so they held the car as long as possible for a reason! They purposely called at 4:30 (30 minutes before closing) on a holiday weekend about the car a thinking I wouldn't have enough time to pick it up before the holiday weekend and they could get extra money out of me for storing for multiple days. I live nearby and told them I'd be there in 10 minutes. Their website and storefront state that they close at 5 PM, I showed up at 4:40 to them locking up trying to leave early, so they could keep the car and charge me. I called them out, got my car out, and went to another shop! I went to another shop who confirmed the speed sensor diagnostic and the car now runs like brand new! While waiting to drop off my truck here at concord aamco I seen the review score and was curious of what people are saying. Mixed reviews but mostly bad. I drop off my truck to get tranny fluid flushed. They call me in the afternoon to confirm they are going to do an inspection to see if my truck can be serviced and to make sure nothing is wrong such as check engine light, slipping transmission, etc. They said if there is something wrong they would not flush the tranny fluid. I denied to have them inspect it because all I needed was for them to flush the fluid. From reading the reviews I emptied my truck because of the reviews regarding theft and I also took a picture of my dash to get the odometer reading. I dropped my truck off with 84668 miles I pick it up with 84685. Not wanting to get confrontational I get back in my truck and try to just leave but I just didn't understand why my mileage was off. I go into the shop and ask them what they did. The guy said nothing . I say someone drove my truck 17 miles. He says oh maybe she did drive it to test it. Brought my Kia Sedona in for inspection because of what sounded like transmission whine/grinding. After initial inspection I was quoted $750 for a water pump replacement, which was a relief. Shortly thereafter they attempted to tell me that MY poor maintenance had actually caused the timing chain to start to go bad and that it would be over $4k to fix it. When I told Welsey, the technician, that I wasn't happy with the diagnostic process and communication, he was EXTREMELY RUDE and condescending. I was done and asked for the car to be re-assembled. When I picked it up, this guy was constantly cutting me off when I tried to speak, continued to say that they went "above and beyond" to fix my car, and even YELLED AT MY WIFE when she tried to speak. I wouldn't EVER recommend trusting your car in their hands and they are nothing short of scam artists who was absolute jerks when you call them on their mistakes. SCAM ALERT!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I spoke to this location on August 16th of this year as I was looking for someone who would rebuild a transmission. The representative (Wesley) who I believe is the owner let me know that the $5,800.00 I was quoted for a new transmission was a "rip off" (his words) and he would be able to rebuild it for much less. After charging me $150.00 for an initial inspection he said he needed an additional $395.00 to look at the situation closer. After that inspection he said there was definitely something wrong with it (which I thought was already understood as I told him Ford was telling me I needed to replace it) and needed an additional $1,650.00 to remove the transmission and inspect it further. Seemed like a scam but I agreed so that is on me. I was into this for $2,000 just in inspections so I had to go with him for the rebuild. These sales tactics aren't transparent and should be reviewed by the BBB and California Auto Repair Commission but that wasn't the problem or reason for this review. On September 18th, I went down to pick up my son's vehicle and after paying $5,200 for the rebuild had him drive it back to college. I received a frantic call from my son about 2 hours later letting me know that he was almost in an accident. The mechanic at this location forgot to fasten the drive shaft (Pictures Below) when they reinstalled my transmission and the two piece drive shaft on my son's Ford F-150 came apart when he was driving at a speed of about 45 mph. He was able to swerve off the road and avoid the other cars but that was the start of this nightmare. The owner took complete responsibility for the incident and started screaming that he was going to fire the person who did this. He agreed to have the vehicle towed back to his location and repair any damage that took place as a result of their negligence. I was promised I would have the vehicle back on Friday the 22nd. That failed to happen because the owner said they sent him the wrong parts. He then told me I would have it on Tuesday the 26th. Tuesday came and went and despite me leaving messages I did not hear back. On Wednesday the 27th, I received a call that the new drive shaft was installed but they didn't have time to test drive it so I would have it the next day. I received a call from the owner the following day that the car didn't pass quality assurance test because the same supplier sent him a defective drive shaft. On Monday the 2nd of October, I was called and told the truck was ready. As I drove off I began to hear a noise and 10 minutes into the drive the CHECK ENGINE light came on. You can't make this up. I am now in another rental and my vehicle is at a mechanic shop I can trust. My insurance company is involved and will be going after this location on my behalf. To make matters worse, AAMCO's corporate office has been horrible to deal with and since this is a franchise they said I am on my own to work it out with the owner. Last month the transmission on my 2014 Infiniti went out. I took it to the dealership and to some other shops. AAMCO made me feel at ease. They tried to look into a rebuild but the damage was to extensive. So they quoted me a very competitive price and I had them replace with a brand new transmission. They did a great job! Followed up and let me bring it in 2 weeks after to make sure everything was working correctly. Then this week I noticed a plastic weather shield under the front of the car was coming undone. I contacted AAMCO again and the owner told me to bring it in and he would clip it all back into place. I was expecting to be charged but it was on the house since they were the last ones to be under the hood. I had a great experience and I definitely recommend them if you're having transmission issues. read more

I've brought my car here twice -- 2011 and just last month, Aug 2014. Both experiences were been great! They gave me the estimates and repair was done on time. I read all these negative yelp reviews and I was really concerned about going back to Concord AAMCO. So this time around, I went to Sears Auto at Sun Valley first. I've had some repairs/maintenance done there before so it wasn't new to me. Sears misdiagnosed it TWICE. The first time, they said it was shocks & struts and second time (diff technician) said it was a transmission transfer box problem. That's how I ended up at AAMCO. I worked with Alex and Wesley. They were both so honest with me and gave me phone updates through the 2 days my car was there. The real problem was sway bar links and connectors. Thanks guys! Will not bring another car here again! I recently brought my car into this shop and upon dropping off the vehicle I was met by a woman who seemed nice enough although a little scatter brained and unorganized. She took my keys and had me fill out some paperwork while she looked at my car, I noticed she wrote down my license plate wrong and I corrected her and she told me she was positive she had it right. (I'm pretty sure I know my own license plate). After that we didn't hear anything for 3 days which I thought was normal but after the 4th day I started to call on my own to get an update and who I'm assuming is the manager, Tom told me he was having trouble with the diagnosis. He said there was a noise but other than that had no idea what I was talking about? So I told him ok maybe I was wrong and if he's found another issue that could most likely be it. 3 more days went by with nothing. After this I started having to call every few days and was met with little to no updates and rapidly declining customer service. Eventually when we got to the insurance stage I called my insurance to ask if the claim had gone through and they said they'd been waiting 4 days to receive pictures and a quote I called aamco and they told me I'd need to request an inspector (which takes 3 extra days to get) because they don't take pictures I agreed reluctantly because I obviously needed my car back. And again after 2 weeks of calling and going back and forth between rudeness from aamco and my insurance I thankfully got my car back and am certain I WONT BE RETURNING not only did it feel like they held my car hostage for the month they had it, they had no customer service skills, no updates or any information for me about my cars issues when I called, etc. i went a month with no car, no way to get my children to school, no way to get to work or run errands and this isn't my first time with a repair shop I've never had anything take more than a week TOPS. From the previous comments I read, I was a little skeptical about taking my 2004 Volkswagon Jetta here. However, from the moment I walked into their office, I knew my decision to come here was the right one. BRIAN is truly an amazing individual not only on a business level, but a personal level as well. He took his time to thoroughly explain the issues to my car and the breakdown of price for the 1st inspection. I put money down for the parts that would be needed -$900 There were more issues to my car and more money would need to be paid for a 2nd inspection. He waived this fee for me because the issue could not be recreated from the 1st inspection. Upon this 2nd inspection, it was determined that my transmission was on its last leg. My husband and I decided that it would be better off just selling the car instead of dumping thousands of dollars into it when the value is very low already. I contacted Brian and told him we would not be going forward with the transmission. I was taken back by his poise, ethical behavior and overall help. He informed me that selling it would be my best option. He did not pressure me to go through with the transmission. I did let him know that I was comfortable going forward with the first issue. He told me that it wouldn't be right for him to take my money for this issue, when the real issue was my transmission. He refunded me the $900 I had put down for parts. When I went to pick up my car yesterday, I did not have to pay a single cent. He stated he would rather have a happy customer and to not take money from me when the issue wasn't properly fixed. I have never been to a mechanic or auto shop that does this nor actually care about their customers. I am truly thrilled with my experience. I hope people can ignore the negative reviews and be able to have the same experience I had with Brian. There are still good people in this world and I hope the Concord area and surrounding cities are able to experience his professionalism and strong ethical qualities. Thank you BRIAN! SCAM,SCAM,SCAM....Run away as fast as you can and never look back. Where do I start so I took my 2008 BMW 328I to Aamco about four weeks ago. My engine would not turn over i.e. the car would not start and the drive train malfunction message kept coming on, on the dashboard. They took three weeks, three freaking weeks, to do a simple tuneup, rear brakes and an oil change, I had to be proactive about calling up there and checking on my car they did not have any customer service skills Whatsoever. I mean if three or four days have a gone by since you've updated somebody about the status of their automobile in your repair shop, don't you think good customer service is to call and let them know what's going on? nope not Aamco of Concord you will be the one calling to check on the status of your car as if they are paying you not the other way around. I was misquoted as well, when I got to their office three weeks later to finally pick up my car I didn't even have the $2700 I was charged for, because I was quoted $2100 over the phone. Despite all of the terrible service that I received. I still was not going to leave a bad review I was like OK my car works, whatever I'm happy, upon leaving, they told me there was nothing wrong with my transmission and that it just needed a tuneup and some TLC and that everything was all better and my car would be running fine. So I go to start my car today, after having it for only a week since the repairs were done... and guess what the darn thing won't turn over. So my BMW still has the same problem it had a month ago before I dropped it off at Aamco the only difference in my life as I'm $2700 poorer. I will never in my wildest dreams bring a car to this location! I will never refer anybody here! I might just be inclined to call BAR on this location the service is just flat out horrible. My experience here was awful. I am having some issues with my transmission and made an appointment to come here. When I dropped my car off Rick asked what my concerns were and we agreed that we would do a diagnostic service. I had been told when I made the appointment that they had a courtesy drop off at work. Great I thought. No. There was no one to take me to work so I had to spend $20 on a cab ride. I receive a call from Rick a few hours after I dropped my car off that the diagnostic tests had been finished. However they did not know exactly what was wrong. So they need to another test to figure out what is wrong. Meaning more money. Every time Rick called me it meant we want to charge you more money. By the end of the day Rick has now tried to nickel and dime me out of almost $800.00. Paying this amount will not even tell me exactly what is wrong with my car. My car is older and I only paid $1000 for it. I had explained this to Rick previously and had said I am not looking to make this a $5000 dollar car. In the end I paid $260.00, and still do not know what is wrong with my car. Just a bunch of run around answers. The day after I have picked up my car and have taken it home I notice a very large leak under my car. That's odd because there was never a leak before. When I called AAMCO I spoke with Rick once again who was in my opinion very condescending and rude. I arranged to drop off my car to have it fixed and of course the AAMCO service tech immediately tried to say that it could not have possibly been something that they did. Did I receive a courtesy ride to work? No I did not because I had arranged for someone to take me to work because I was once again told by Rick that this was a "courtesy " and he was not sure it could be offered to me. So now I have had to inconvenience someone else to take me to work and I don't have my car. Oh and the leak was from your techs not properly sealing everything back up. As I am standing in your lobby dropping my car off to fix this mysterious leak there is a couple standing in there speaking to Rick. He is literally repeating everything that he has said to me to them. Verbatim! I wanted to tell them to run! Is there a handbook on how to speak trickery language and nickel and dime customers? How to talk to them and condescend and belittle? I promise that I will never be back and will never give a recommendation. Oh also on my way out Rick tells me that if I get a new car be sure to bring it in because they also offer other services and that they will take care of me. Lol! If I could give negative stars, I would. My car had been making noise so I brought my car in to have it diagnosed -$85. I made an appointment for 8am. I dropped it off at 8, at which time I informed them I needed the diagnosis before noon because I had plans in San Francisco that evening and would have to make other arrangements if extensive work needed to be done. After not receiving a call by 1 pm, I called and was informed that the tech just got to my car. Just before 3pm, someone called to inform me that the serpentine belt and pulley needed replacing - approx $500. As there was no time left in the day to order the parts and complete the repair, I had to make a second appointment for the following Monday at 830. They guaranteed my car was safe to drive until then. I dropped the car off Monday at 830. I received a call just before noon that the A/C compressor was broken (the tech didn't say it was broken on the previous Friday after running the diagnostic) and was provided an estimate of over $2400. While still in shock at this estimate, I was asked if I wanted an expensive rental car while work was being done. Unbelievable! I picked up my car and did NOT return. Side note - I took my car to another shop, who completed ALL repairs (it is HIGHLY likely AAMCO shorted out power from the computer to the A/C compressor). The total cost of repairs, including taking it to the dealer to reprogram the computer, was approximately $800 less at the other shop. AAMCO would like you to go through a million diagnosis before they start to work on the problem. These diagnosis are not free or cheap! They are setting you up to milk you! I went to Aamco because my car was feeling sluggish. They claim they can do diagnostics your car for free but that is never the case. This place completely over charges. I ended up paying for the diagnostics and taking my car from here to the DEALER to pay HALF THE COST they were going to charge me! Are u kidding the dealer is cheaper?! I was in total shock and even when I told them this they didn't care. Break down of the parts and the cost they were going to charger vs the dealer see below. You can also Google these parts and see the prices for yourself. This place has really gone down hill over the last few years. I should have known since there was NO cars in there lot like there use to be! 2 ignition coils = $331.46 8 spark plugs = $82.32 1 PVC valve = $75.79 4.5 hours of labor = $545.00 Air filter = $25.06 Fuel filter = $28.98 Labor = $104.00 diagnostics $195.00 Had I got the work done there they would have given me a $64 credit on the diagnostics Total at AAMCO = $1323.61 Since I didn't want to pay over $1300 for the above they made me pay $195 to take my car back without any work being done on it. I took it to the dealer who charges less for labor. Took 2 hours to fix and paid IN TOTAL $498.68 I SAVED $824.93 GOING TO THE DEALER! So save time and stress and NEVER GO HERE. If I could give them zero stars I would. So I made an appointment for Tuesday July 28th at 12pm and they demanded that I leave my truck and they would call me later. I called back at around 4pm to see what was the diagnosis and was told that they still didn't look at it. I told the lady that I would just pick up my vehicle and when I got there the guy in the office I think his name was Wesley Young said that he never got to look at it and I told him what was the point of having an appointment and he yelled that it was just to get into the Q. I started going to this shop a year ago when I moved to Concord. The first time I went there was when my transmission went out on me. I didn't have the money to fix it, but I needed to find out how much it would cost so I could get my vehicle back. Long story short, they sent a tow truck to my house and didn't charge me, ran diagnostics to see if they could repair it and even took it apart to find the lowest cost way to fix it and didn't charge me a penny. I have a jeep and ended up replacing my transmission and it only cost $3000, which was a lot less than anywhere else said they could do it for. My car is getting old and has needed quite a few repairs in the last few years and I ALWAYS take my car here. The staff is nice, the guy who is basically the manager always explains everything to me and they are fast too, which is always handy. I don't think the rest of the people who have reviewed this place are thinking of the right shop because I have never had issues and never feel ripped off in anyway when I go here. Oh, and the owner hardly ever comes in to the shop so I'm not sure who some of these other people spoke to, cause there's also no one who is rude working there. read more

I brought in my Well maintained reliable Volvo in for a oil leak. I was convinced to have my coil replaced and plugs because they spilled oil everywhere.
