2015 Ram 3500 heater replacement 2800$ paid them Sept 8 . I called for updates every other day. Nobody answers the phone or they answer and can't tell you anything. I call corp leave messages. Nobody still has any answers. Friday Sept 19 th I get a call they tell me my parts just came in.... I wanted to scream yell and curse. I didn't. I just said ok. This place is not your regular AAMCO. I made an appointment and went to get my transmission flushed using a Groupon discount, he phoned me at 2 pm with a list of things also needed, belt, gasket etc.. I knew the gaskets were ok, and the belt is easy to do myself. So, I declined any other repairs, got a call a little later to pick up the car, took a cab ($15), picked the car up, when I got back to work I then got a call saying that the transmission flush had not been performed, AND I did not need to have the other repairs done. Did he just lie to get extra work?, but to not perform the transmission flush is belligerent. Would he have performed the extra repairs if I gave the go ahead? read more

I took my car in for transmission issues. it was just slipping when shifting. They looked at it and said it was likely the computer but needed more diagnostics. They charged me $250 to put it up in the air and hook to their reader only to find out it was the computer. They then wanted to charge me another $1495 to put in the computer and told me that they would then give me an estimate to rebuild the transmission and the computer wouldn't be covered unless trans was rebuilt which after taking the car to my dealership the transmission was perfectly fine. I seriously don't know why the reviews here are so bad. Maybe cause the reviews are old and actually irrelevant. I came here twice already and I don't even live in manassas anymore but I still come out here to get my service done. Prices are great and Rob is seriously easy to work with. His guys are super nice and they work diligently. Expect to call for an appointment and expect to wait. You don't want your job to be rushed as well. Honestly, I recommend them 100% and people be frustrated with the hours is kind of absurd. If you don't want to work those hours why would you ask them to? They tried to tell me I had a major problem with my transmission when I did not. When they made this claim I told them it was under warranty and gave them the number to call. They call me back the next day and tell me the warranty won't cover it and that Honda dealer won't fix it but name the wrong warranty. I correct them and they later call me back and tell me I have to take it to Honda dealer. At Honda dealer I discover that the car needed exactly what I told AAMCO, no transmission parts to replace just replace transmission fluid three times and its a known issue that Honda did cover. read more

Thankfully groupon refunded me (partially) (where I lost original deal but recouped some of my costs) I get it people don't like group on, well, then don't advertise there! Great service, I had a check engine light on. Of course I went straight to worst case and was thinking the Cat or O2 sensors. I heard on radio of their free check engine light check. They are very nice but they have bankers hours, no weekends and days before you can even book an oil change appt. With the coveted 36 point inspection come $500 or more of estimates of needed work. Not worth it in time delays and additional work they always have for you upon pick up. read more

No additional fees like other oil change places (not correct filter or disposal fees). Service takes about an hour, they are always packed. Make sure to make an appointment for quality service. Not a 10 minute oil service. Free wifi while you wait. All jobs come with warranty...piece of mind. I like going to a local place. They also diagnosis your car for free too, a more thorough check requires some $. They don't open weekends...however they offer an early bird key drop off. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. Another guy mentioned dave. The person I dealt with since last year was rob. New management?... good service all the time when I go. Called this morning, I asked for a simple round about quote for a transmission repair. I was given a crazy price by the dealer and was looking for a baseline quote on repair or replacement. Was told he cannot give me any prices, Surprisingly he became very angry when i asked again when i told him i did not want to have my truck towed over and over. I just wanted a simple quote. I had several from other locations, and was calling around. Long story short he hung up on me and refused my service. Spoke to Fairfax AAMCO and had my quote in less than 5 minutes, and because Dave the so called Manager here was such a jerk, i was offered discounts and free towing! I would not recommend this place to anyone for any reason. Bad enough i need work done i cant afford, now i have to deal with people like him. no thanks!!! read more

Don't go have your car repair or service here. They have very poor customer service and very difficult to make appointments. Avoid this repair shop. I'm not really sure why there are all these negative reviews on here. I honestly find them pretty hard to believe (how would a business even stay open if things were really that bad?!) This morning I went in for an oil change. I did not have an appointment, but called about 30 minutes after they opened, and Frank told me they had an openning at 9AM. I arrived a little early and right at 9AM I saw my car taken into the back. I drive a Volkswagen CC which takes some weird parts, so they did not have the oil filter in stock. They had someone run out and pick one up and still got my car done in under an hour. Not only that, but I only came here because I had a groupon. Full synthetic oil changes usually cost around $90, so when I saw a groupon for $40 I jumped at it, even though it meant driving 30 minutes out of my way to get the work done. The groupon was good for a full synthetic oil change up to 5 quarts. My car takes 6. Frank did not charge any extra for the extra quart of oil. I know it would only have been around $5-$10, but still it's the thought that counts. While I waited they provided good coffee, free wifi so I could work remotely, and the staff was super friendly. Frank joked with me the whole time and was super apologetic that I had to wait an extra 15 minutes for the specialty oil filter, despite the fact that I had no appointment and there was no way they could know they would need it as I never told them the kind of vehicle I drove until I got there. I'm actually pretty annoyed reading the negative reviews on here because my experience couldn't be further from what everybody else is saying. I have only written one other yelp review before as something has to really wow me to take the time out of my day to do it, but this Aamco location did exactly that. Although the folks here seem nice, I know that much of the service I paid for did not happen. Frankly, I'm not sure what was actually done. I bought a synthetic oil change and tire rotation, which comes with the coveted 36-point inspection. Advertised as a 30 minute process, mine took about 90 minutes. I had marked my tires (left front, left rear, etc) and immediately confirmed that they had not rotated the tires. I checked fluid levels and saw that the wiper fluid was empty. The coolant level was below the low line. I then realized that the test drive had not happened, which is instrumental to the 36-point inspection. What HAD they done? Being concerned about the actual synthetic oil change, I brought the car to a local garage. I was told that "it does not appear to be new oil, but has a few miles left on it". Awesome! I normally do my own work as most mechanics are dishonest these days. However, I figured, 14.00 for a groupon and somebody does the work for me or 20.00 in materials to do it my self. I honestly didn't have high expectations. Shops like this are famous for loosening screws and taking advantage of ignorance. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. I didn't make an appointment but the service writer was nice enough to move some things around for me. The car was ready within the hour. They gave me what I paid for and didn't try to sell me anything else. Which is all I can really ask for. I see other folks are unhappy with this place. I'm sure those other folks would also go to a chiropractor for heart surgery. You go to an oil change place, for an oil change. Nothing more, nothing less. UPDATE ******6/26/18****** From what I understand Mike from corporate approved the part order under warranty like he said he would so they were ordered yesterday 6/25/18. Here's what happened. At this point still had no idea what was going on. Mike never got back to me last week. AAMCO in Vegas didn't have any information they could give me either. I didn't call AAMCO in Manassas back once Mike told me that he was going to handle the situation because the new owner basically didn't feel like he should be the one to have to get the part (and that's the last time I heard from Mike). Anyways, yesterday i decided to call here and & see if maybe they could give me any information even though from what I understood they were out of the picture. I called twice no answer & figured they were busy. Then I called again 30 minutes later & on the 4th time Rob answered & told me he had literally just finished ordering the parts on the phone with the company. No problem! My parts were finally actually ordered. I asked him if he could provide me with a tracking number & he gave me the number of the place & before we hung up I told him joking around hopefully this is the last time you'll have to hear from me and we both laughed because yeah I'm sure he was just as frustrated about the whole situation. So I called the place & they said I needed to give them more information. I honestly just wanted to be 100% sure that the parts were ordered. I wasn't trying to offend anyone. I called back again and on the 4th time they answered & once he said his name I said hey sorry to bother you again but I need this & this to get the tracking number. & Started to say that it was a big deal to have to call & get that information that he was giving me his word and that he had never told me himself that he had ordered the parts so what else was there he could do for me with a big attitude. I get he was frustrated, but that was no way for him to talk to me. I told him that actually I had been told that the parts were ordered (I mean my review is right there) & I would call to see if they would arrive & they wouldn't. I told him it wasn't my fault that the owner didn't know how to run a business because he sent me to you when you said he was the only one he could help me & so I didn't understand the attitude he was given me. At some point in our phone call he says "I'm not the one you want to deal with this." I was shocked. What is that suppose to mean? You're the manager right so yeah you are the one. Honestly his tone of voice sounded like he was trying to tell me I should not continue arguing with him. He could've not been trying to say that, but honestly that's what I felt it came out as. The phone call ended with him ignoring anything I had to say & saying mmm ok well is there anything else I do for you? I said no that was it thank you and hung up. I was angry, but honestly more upset then anything. I couldn't believe that I had been treated like that. I called AAMCO in Vegas & Mark who is awesome & their receptionist Sal, they could tell I was really upset I should've waited till I had calmed down but anyways he helped me out & gave me a call back with what I needed to know. Needless to say I WILL be filing a complain. That is no way to treat ANY customer. UPDATE ******6/20/18****** STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PART. MY TRUCK IS STILL JUST SITTING AT THE SHOP BECAUSE AMCO IN VA DOES NOT FEEL THEY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ORDERING THE PART?! Apparently they are under a new owner so he feels he should not have to order the part. I had to result to calling corporate & Mike is apparently the one is going to give the money to the shop here in Vegas to order the part and as of now I still do not have it 100% insured that the part has been ordered or anything. Did oil changes for our Mazda using groupon and always honored them. Did a pretty good job, also changed transmission fluid, and fixed one of our tires, it's got nail on it we didn't even know. So far, they have a decent price on jobs, we will have yet to see if they can give good pricing on brake jobs, etc. read more

We took our 48 Ply in for a fly wheel and starter to be replaced and had to take it back there 4 times and all they could say is just bring it back,then the guy Justin came to house and asked us to tow it to the repair shop for the 5th time. The paint on the car where they taped the window that they could not roll up we can not get off the car and it looks sooo bad. Ed was in no hurry to see the warrantied work fixed and told me to call Jason. All I got was finger pointing and it wasn't fixed. Avoid this store. Let's begin with that I'm an master ASE technician, I brought in my fathers ford van in for a new transmission, I have already known that there are three transmission codes for slipping. They are all related to each other's and I know it needs a transmission from just the look of the fluid. Guess what they called me and say "there are three codes for transmission slipping, we need to diagnose three codes for three hours to begin with", really? What if I have 8 misfire codes, would you charge me 8 hours to diagnose those when I simply needed was spark plugs done? I told them never mind and took my car to Jim's transmission down the street. They immediately know it needs transmission. Well I went ahead and pay them to rebuilt it. If you want your car done right,don't take it to them. Their tech had no single clue about cars and seems like the guy work on front desk get mad when you told him not to do the diagnosis.
