I had to replace my CVT and he offered a used one to save and did. I've come back for transmission service and he weren't there. Pulled Tahoe to get a second opinion. Brought to the experts ..honk honk. Well same outcome but was cheaper by a grand. So that was a plus. Got to it pretty quick. Was ready in a few days. UPDATE: Mind you all! I posted my review yesterday 12/9 it's been less than 24hours, it's 12/10 today, I was just told that they stopped the investigation on their end because I posted my review. Just keep this in mind when you consider doing any business here. They lost their second star for that matter. Lol I wouldn't trust leaving my vehicle here LOOK ELSEWHERE I dropped off my car 11/22 to get checked out and it ended up staying till 11/25. They did transmission work and I haven't had a problem with it so far and the receptionist was sweet and very professional so that's why I give them the 2nd star. Things seemed great, it wasn't until the following day (11/26) that I noticed the hood on my car had an ugly dent! And it was NOT there before. We have videos of the morning of the day I dropped my car off that shows I DID NOT HAVE THAT DENT THERE. I picked up my car with my husband in his car (he drove us there and obviously I drove my car back) After we noticed the dent we went through all footage on his dash cam and found a video from when we left the shop that shows my car has a new dent on the hood. We came back the following day (11/27) and my husband and I went together to let them know of the issue. The receptionist basically told us that when she shows her manager the picture of the damage and based on how dirty my car is (she didn't say those exact words, but basically what she meant lol) her manager will determine that it's old damage and that it did not happen there. Which is pretty wild to me considering we have footage of what my car looked like before it got dropped off and that I picked it up with the damage pictured. And so she said she'd let her manager know about it and that we'd get a call back. She also said that if they determine that the damage did not happen there "you would have to look elsewhere". And best believe we will look elsewhere to get justice for this. I know every single dent and scratch on my car, I take care of my car like it's my baby, so I know damn well that was not there before I dropped it off and there's clear evidence of that. ALSO, not to mention, that day we went to bring it to their attention, she brought the mechanic out who worked on it and asked him about it and he honestly looked nervous and said that damage didn't happen there and that they did not touch the hood or opened it AT ALL. Which is pretty wild because based on something they even told my husband they had to have opened it. Lol he claimed "all the work was done at the bottom of the car". Anyways, the holiday passed and we waited for the next Monday or Tuesday and received no call, so my husband called them and apparently it was gonna 2 weeks to investigate haha Basically it's about to be 2 weeks soon and no one has contacted my husband to ask for his footage like the receptionist said they would. I don't recommend this place at all, seriously look elsewhere. You're looking into possibly going through a nightmare of an experience like this. Save your time, money, and energy! read more

That is where all the great referals reviews come from he was not cheap but very upfront and honest. I recently send friend who is tricked by the lady on the counter told it would be $1000 to remove the transmission and inspect it then a few days later ask for almost $7000 Rip off We had the car put back together and took it to Leon's Transmissions. They test drove it and told us $3500 right upfront. We just picked it up and it's perfect. I think they call this bait and switch be warned. We are going to take this further. read more

This is my second visit to this location following rebuilt transmission about 7 months ago. As far as transmission goes, it's been about 9k miles and she runs great! I was having a surging engine problem and brought it here hoping it wasn't transmission for which it wasn't. Prisma runs the front desk and has helped me last time so I was happy to see her again. She was and continues to be very pleasant, professional and extra thorough in what expectations should be as far as time and assessments. I appreciate her upfrontness and explaining what their approach would be. Afterwards I was given diagnosis and given a couple options. Very honest assessment and not looking to upsell and fix unnecessary problems. That being said, we talked about some inevitable issues that would occur with age of car and all and I decided to go ahead and have more work done since they were already in there and labor would come out cheaper than bringing it back. Ultimately, it was my decision and she didn't push me to this, rather just pointed out the possibilities. After driving my car home on freeway the issue is definitely fixed and my Ford sounds and drives amazingly!! Sinus warranty of 12 years or 12 months and I feel I'm in good hands. I don't want to be back anytime soon but if so, I hope Prisma is still here as she is just a joy to interact with. read more

Based from the Yelp star ratings, it appears that AAMCO, specifically this location, has a good reputable quality of customer service. However, I would have to beg to differ. When we made an appointment and took our car in, the front desk person informed us that it would about 2-4 hours to perform their assessment before letting us know what the issues would be, however, we didn't hear back from them until the following day (already bad customer service imo). We were told that the issue is NOT the oil pump as what was told to us from another opinion, but some oil sensor and I believe, transmission flush. Couple days later, AAMCO called us that the car is ready for pickup with a bill of $800+. However, upon pick up, we noticed loud noise from the engine (sound like a click click sound). They took the car in for rechecked (they don't look too happy)) and just told us to observe and monitor if the noise gets any worse. A week went by, we called the company back to informed them that the noise has gotten louder. After a few days of holding the car, they now told us that IT IS the Oil Pump that the issue and unfortunately, they are unable to service us because it will take 12 hours to fix it. I was dumbfounded. I felt like they effed up the car at some point and now, they are refusing to fix the main issue...and their attitude has changed too. They were not as nice and professional. Pretty much rude. For a known company like AAMCO, I was very disappointed with their poor service. I will never recommend this company to anyone most especially to this location. read more

So I have a Nissan centra 2017 and I was told by female associates working in front desk that I was told to check my transmission was free of charge so y am I coughing out 1250 to just get it checked? So u do charge people but not honest about it just tell us u charge us to inspect in course I'm being charged 1250 to get my transmission checked. I needed to fix the brakes on my Mustang, and I was debating whether to go back to the dealership (where I bought my car and did all the services there since) or find somewhere else. One of the dealership's advisor never got back to me when I followed up with him on the discount he promised if I was to take my Mustang back for the brakes, so I asked my bf to see if he can find somewhere else. My bf researched on Yelp and recommended AAMCO in Anaheim. It turned out to be such a great find! I'm not savvy with car and parts but luckily I had my bf and luckily we found AAMCO. Anthony helped us and he was so wonderful! The British owner is pretty funny and he was so attentive and honest about all his services. I left my Mustang with him and we picked it up about 1.5 days later. We didn't go for the OEM but this place carries better/higher quality alternative brands other than the Ford OEM. I've had 2 extremely great experiences here: -2013 I took in my manual e30 BMW in after the manual transmission died. They completely rebuilt it and it worked flawlessly till I sold it in March 2023 (and, I had replaced the engine with an M52 - e36 producing an extra 60 or so hp--the rebuilt 260 Getrag tranny held up the entire 10 years plus, 8 of those years after having a more powerful engine bolted up to it!) -just took my 2020 Jeep GC Trailhawk in there after I was noticing harsh shifts between 3&4. Anthony did a VERY thorough deep dive with the team. They found that it was actually under manufactures' warranty AND gave me a contact at Jeep dealer that wouldn't play stupid and handle for me AND didn't charge me a dollar for the entire day of inspection. The transmission on my Chevrolet Silverado went out last month and I called around for quotes to figure my best option to repair it. Other service centers either would not give me a quote, without bringing the truck in, or were just not very helpful. This transmission center was extremely helpful. The service representative walked me through all options with what appeared to me to be honest assessments. The quotes seemed fair and were well within other industry quotes I received. All of this was on the phone. There was no need to bring my truck in. I wish I remembered the service representative's name. He was an outstanding representative for his company. read more

Worse customer service I have ever received. The lady at the front desk just kept asking for money after she said the inspection was free. Then she comes out saying you need to pay 1250 since you don't want the full work, obviously because who just has 6,000 to just blow. She didn't care and then she was you need to pay and well put your car back together the way it was. Then she's saying you need to get your car out which she confirmed it's not fully put back together. Now she's saying she's going to start charging me fees for having the car there. I told her if you really want the money like you are demanding have my car put back right away. She said we can't do that. Full report will be going into The Better Business Bureau. My mini Cooper was acting strange so I towed it to the place I trust which is here Aamco in Katella in the City of Orange My Mini Cooper was turning off and pulling and I didn't know why so it was was towed to this repair shop and Anthony and his team helped me once more, the problem was that the engine oil cap was not close correctly and that was causing the car to act up Anthony and his team were able to help me with my car troubles again! Something is off with this place. I saw the other reviews about Anthony being gone, which has made a difference for the worse it seems. I went in to get a repair. First, the blinds are closed in the office, so you don't know if anyone is there. When I called out to see if anyone was in the office or nearby in the shop, the girl in the office seemed annoyed I was interrupting whatever she was doing. She asked me if I wanted to leave the car. I said yes. She said she would check me in, then walked back into the office and shut the door. I am guessing I was supposed to find my own form somehow and check myself in, um no. We have a Honda Odyssey that's more than 12 years old. The transmission went out recently and we had a couple of other problems that had to be fixed before the van was road worthy. Since the van was old and not in great shape, we decided that it wasn't worth spending money to fix it. We were going to replace that van with a new one until we saw how new car prices have skyrocketed. We decided to repair the van as long as the cost was reasonable. After talking to several repair shops, a friend recommended AAMCO of Orange. We called and talked to Anthony, who is the manager. All of the staff was very professional and friendly. The manager, Anthony was outstanding. He worked with us to keep the repair price reasonable and was always available and honest. When all was said and done, we felt like we made a friend. My car's check engine light came on and I decided to not risk it by driving it all the way to my usual guy, Kim's Auto in garden grove. I called this AAMCO because I wanted to confirm my online appointment and was greeted by their friendly manager Anthony. I told him my issues and he told me they'll look it over. I leave my car overnight since they were still trying to figure out why the light had come on. They found nothing wrong with my car. I wasn't charged anything and plus they added some gasoline on the house! I was told take it to Mazda dealer if the light comes back on since it could be an electrical issue. Anthony, initially claimed they can do my repairs "$270...worst case scenario $150 more" so $420 total "worst case scenario" is what I was told, After I told him the exact make & model. Upon returning, They said it would be a 2 hour wait & then kept responding "one more hour" multiple times , upon me calling to see if they've even looked at my vehicle yet, it ended up being ended up being 7 hours to even get my car inspected for something I already was told by the dealer beforehand. Just for them to tell me it would be $900 Almost the exact dealer price , & DOUBLE what I was initially told by Anthony. 2 days wasted here & my car is still not fixed, Completely Unprofessional. read more

This place was my saving grace! My car had broken down in the middle of an intersection. I called AAMCO to see if they had the time for me, if I had towed it to them. Anthony tells me yes, and that he can take a look at it for me at no cost! I had it towed to him and he tells me I might be covered under Nissan's warranty to get it fixes. He calls Nissan for me and confirms that I do. He kept my car safe until I could make arrangements with Nissan to have it towed there. While he didn't make any repairs on my car, he helped me beyond what I expected to receive. I'm so thankful to Anthony for being so kind and genuine, and for helping me so much. AAMCO (Orange) is my go to spot for all things transmission. On March 25, 2019 I took my little 2010 Scion XB in for a transmission issue which had been causing it to scratch or grind gears sometimes. I had the clutch done about 2 years ago at a different auto repair shop. At that time my XB was beginning to scratch or grind gears and I thought it was the clutch and the mechanic agreed and replaced it. At that time my wife was the primary driver of my XB. When I once again began driving my XB 2 years later, I notice that the XB was still scratching or grinding gears as it was doing prior to the clutch job 2 years prior. I took my little XB to AAMCO for a free diagnostic check to discovered that the problem was the transmission itself. Well at 111,420 miles, my options were to rebuild or replace my transmission. In order to rebuild the transmission, the labor cost along was going to be $2,000 and depending on what was going on with the transmission internally could range between $1,000 to $2,000. Jordan Post (AAMCO Service Advisor) suggested that I go with a used exchange transmission at a cost of about $3,100 out the door. I like my little XB a lot so I agreed on the transmission exchange. Well as of today April 20, 2019 so far so good my little Xbox as Jordon calls it, is driving as good as it did when I purchased it back in 2010. I have been building and restoring cars for 15 years now, but sometimes there are jobs that I don't feel like doing for whatever reason. In this case, my Challenger needed a new rear main seal and since I didn't want to go through the trouble of dropping the transmission out myself, I went over to Aamco since they had done some work on my brothers cars in the past and he was always very happy with it. The manager, Sam, was very friendly and very helpful. She checked in with me several times to let me know how things were going, and when they ran into a couple of snags along the way (not Aamco's fault. Missing pin in the linkage from a previous owners repair), she was very up front about it and gave me several options on how to proceed. I received the car back exactly how I had dropped it off. Nothing out of place, dirty or missing. The leak is fixed and I am happy to enjoy my car again. Great service, great communication, great work and a great price! I shopped around on the price a little beforehand, and I got several quotes that were more than $300 higher than Aamco! I will definitely be back for any large jobs that I don't have the time or energy to do myself. read more

Like really and I don't need my car ?? since we new what the problem was and he figured he wasn't gonna pull a fast one on us told us he was going to fix our car. Great customer service right? Soooooo! $orry about the delay in writing a extraordinary review. I was referred to this place from my BBF Maria Rubacalva. Spoke to Jordan about my 05 Honda Accord LX. My car brought down and towed here. He gave me a reasonable bid to repair my car. After all was said and done $5000.00 dollars later to rebuild the TRANNY on my car. They were very professional from beg--to--end better yet the fact that they warranty all the parts and TRANNY for 1-year or 12,000 miles. That put a humongous on my face. I will admit it took me until now to digest this big expense at the end I realized it was worth it because I lov my car going on 200,000 miles now and holding "Strong".
