Great food and great service! My favorite is the Walker Texas Ranger burger. A must when in the Eastern Sierra.

I will start by saying I was STARVING after boarding all day. I was seriously craving a good steak but was also excited about a good salad. I ordered the Top Sirloin and it could not have been cooked any better. It was pink and juicy and just delicious. It came with the yummiest broccoli and side salad. The bread was also delicious it was super crispy and yummy. We ordered a side of sweet potato fries and they were really good. My husband ordered the chicken and ribs and was very happy. The food came quickly and the service was great. We sat in a cozy booth. Overall an amazing meal, I was a bit surprised. Do not hesitate and just go!!! read more

Food quality went downhill. The chili fries were taken off the menu and the beer selection decreased. But the issue wasn't the food, it was the HORRIBLE service. When you go here, you stand in line, order your own food at the counter, get your own drink, and seat yourself. There was a young lady (well a teenager) who is a food runner that is supposed to expedite orders when they come up. Most of the time, this person spends standing around and talking and giggling with other employees. This girl brought us our food and never returned. That said, when I paid for our overpriced burgers in the beginning, I left a 22% tip. I left a $17 tip because I know the food service industry is hard work. When we finished our meal. I asked for a to-go container for my leftovers. The young lady who mostly just stood around doing nothing told me that they have them out and I can grab them myself. I asked if she would mind grabbing some for me because I have bad knees and I was in a bit of pain to which she shrugged and said, "ok, so?" I waited a pause and then said, "so you won't just help me out and grab a couple for me?" Se said, "nope, it's not my job" and then she just walked away with a $#!+ eating grin as if she prided herself by telling a customer to stuff it fo making a request. A customer who already left a tip for a crew that really does absolutely nothing to earn it. My guess...this is a family business and this young lady knows that no one there, not even the manager, can tell her what to do. Well, I will never go back here because of this terrible service! No big loss anyway, the food is mediocre at best and extremely overpriced! I would give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

I had no idea what to expect at this restaurant, other than hearing they had great burgers. Upon entering, we see that it's a cozy, walk-up to order spot, so you grab a menu and place your order. The ambiance was warm, with lots of wood and a roaring fire in the kitchen for the rotisserie chickens. There was a live singer with a guitar and harmonica and he was great! He sang Tom Petty, the Eagles and more. My son and I ordered burgers; he had a straight cheeseburger with onion rings and I had the spicy jalapeño with fresh cut jalapeños, slaw and spicy sauce served with double battered fries. My burger was MESSY and you will not be able to put it down while eating. All burgers are cooked medium to medium rare and they were the juiciest things ever! The server brought our food out fast and it was a fun and delicious meal. There was a massive amount of onion rings and fries served, so you will not leave hungry. RUN; don't walk, to this spot. We have driven past this restaurant a million times blazing to MM, so it was fun to take time in Bishop. Make the stop on your way to or from Mammoth. It's a treat! read more

My family and I stopped here during a drive back from a weekend trip at Lake Tahoe. We had originally planned to pick up sandwiches at Erick Schat's Bakery, but we arrived an hour before closing when they sandwich bar was already closed, and all of their pre-made sandwich options were also sold out. Devastating, but luckily we saw that this location was still open and walked down the street to grab a meal before continuing our trip back home. I'm so glad we did too! This place is excellent!! If I ever make anymore roadtrips that passby here I will stop here everytime. Their menu is excellent! I don't think they have the same sandwiches as Erick's, but they have some that use the same bread. My husband and I got the Better Buster sandwich to share with a side of potato salad, alongside a side order of onion rings. My other family members got The Knuckle with a side of fries, and a BBQ Beef Sandwich with coleslaw.The sandwiches here are big!! Great bang for your buck! Even if you're not hungry for an entire sandwich, I'd recommend just getting a full order and saving the other half for later. I got full off my half easily. The potato salad was also really delicious. It was creamy and hearty. I tried my BIL's colesale, which I normally don't like as they're often overly soft and mushy or too fresh, but the balance on this one was just right. The fries and onion rings!!! The Better Buster sandwich was really good! Solid, filling, tasty sandwich with fresh ingredients. My favorite items were the onion rings and beer battered fries though! 100/10!! They're my favorite onion rings and fries I've ever had. I'd legitimately come here just to eat those, they're so freaking good ahhhh. I'll probably be thinking about them forever. Crazy to think I almost decided not to get the onion rings. Ordering here was very easy, there's a window you can order at on the inside of the restaurant. They'll give you a number and bring you order to your table when it's ready. The employees here were also super nice! The cashier said I made a good choice when I ordered the Better Buster as it's her favorite item on the menu, which made me really happy because I was hmming and hawing, and going back and forth on what to get. Interior is nice and cozy. Definitely matches the roadhouse aesthetic! Warm, wooden decor with some brick pillars. Parking was easy as we went later in the day on a Monday, but I could see parking getting full easily on a busy weekend or day. Absolutely will come back whenever I pass by and try other items on their menu! I'm confident they're all great. read more

This place has a nice ambiance, had live music (not too loud) and amazing food. I got the Walker Texas Ranger burger and it was amazing and reasonably priced. This stand-alone restaurant is somewhat large in size with its own parking lot. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. This is an order at the counter and seat yourself restaurant. We ordered the Inyo Mouth Burger, Unburger (Impossible Burger), fries and a side of broccoli. Our order arrived quickly, was nicely plated and in good portion. The burgers were delicious. The bun on the burgers were the delicious Schat's cheese rolls. The fries were crispy with garlic, Parmesan and parsley seasoning. Service was good. The gender specific, multi-user restrooms were in good working order. Pricing was reasonable. *We loved the artwork on the table where we were seated. Today I had the fresh cod dipped in batter and fried with fries according to the menu. Terrible fish and chips was what was served. Clearly they fry the fish and fries prior and then refry them when ordered. The fish was over fried, almost burnt and the batter pulled away from the fish fillet when I bit into it. The coleslaw has no seasoning. The fries were soo salty that I couldn't even eat them and almost burnt as well. Can't believe they would even serve this to customers like this. We like to get dinner out at least once during our annual camping trips to Eastern Sierras. Bishop has a limited selection, but we've returned here multiple times. The food is delicious and the venue is casual. You order at a counter, get seated and they bring your food. Despite this method of ordering, it's got a restaurant (not fast food) feel with comfy booths and tables. Staff is friendly and they have a good beer selection. They even have live music at times, and when they aren't featuring a local musician, they play good music on the overhead speakers too. Fresh baked buns on burgers and sandwiches are a nice plus. Had the impossible Bluey Armstrong and it had a bunch of blue cheese in it. If you like blue cheese this is your burger. First bite was an explosion of blue cheese awesomeness. Me and the family stopped in for dinner. I had the "Hotshot"; she had the "Inyo Mouth" burger. We didn't talk for about 40mins as we devoured our food. Each was amazing. Well balanced in flavor, size and had fabulous quality. The staff was super on it. We were checked on no less then three times. And they were genuine. While I didn't have the beer, I loved the selection! So, if you're in town; stop on in. If you're driving through; ignore those fast food places, park the car; bring the family in, get some good quality food, take a break and then drive. Just went today. We liked everything we ordered - salads, ribs and sandwich. The bread is so good from Schat's bakery. The salad were well prepared and fresh. It's order at the counter then get your food brought to your table. All of the servers are great. Attentive. Friendly. Reasonable prices. Live music. Quick service. I'm only rating the burger and fries I had but the burger was World Class. The fries were great too but having both is too much for me. (They are beer-battered, golden brown and made fresh, so I could easily enjoy just the fries by themselves--they're that good.) BUT, the burger I had was my own selection which is 1/3 lb Angus burger pattie, Schat's bun (awesome), pepper jack cheese and Ortega Chile--nothing else. I requested medium well bc that's the way I like it. They usually just cook medium. I consider myself a burger expert and the burger I ordered was OUTSTANDING! Great seasonings. I had it again today for dinner (no fries) and I'm gonna have it again each of the next two days I'm here on vacation.
