As they say in Ireland, my garage door was fooked. The carrier was bound up, and wouldn't move on the screw. Because of that, if I tried to engage the door, it made a horrendous noise akin to "the most annoying sound in the world" from Dumb & Dumber. I called A-Aron's Garage Door Service, and told them I needed a new motor, which they told me would come with a new track system. I got a fair price right over the phone, after being asked what sorts of features I wanted: not many, I want a dumb garage door, don't need keypad entry, want to open it with a button on the wall inside the garage, want remotes for it, and want it to not be loud. I went with a Dominator lift. Sounds beefy. The next day, the install tech shows up, and he gets to work. He's friendly, and he examines the current state of the door, and lets me know the springs aren't holding tension. I left him to do his work, and went up to do my own work. To make a long story short, he was able to properly tension my springs, did a great and expedient job installing the new motor, track, programming the remotes and button thing on the wall, and ensuring everything was reinforced properly. He also disposed of all the old equipment and boxes. I paid what was quoted to the penny. These guys are the real deal, and I won't call anyone else for garage door service. No nonsense, no crazy upsells, just what you need for your garage to be safe again, at a very fair price. read more

Not sure how this company got such high ratings. I just called, asked if they do free estimates and "Jessie" just went off, not ugly, just very unprofessional, started lamenting about how long he's been doing it, how he doesn't need to come out, how he can't waste time/money driving all over to give estimates for people who "shop around". Aarons was my FIRST call because of the positive reviews. My insurance company needs a written estimate to process my claim. I didn't "shop around" for my roofer and I wasn't shopping around for a garage repair company. Unfortunately, you lost a potential customer. Never would I recommend this company. read more

Our broom that we store in the corner of the garage fell over and jammed our garage door when it tried to close, knocking off track, messing up the pulley cable and bending some parts to the point where we just couldn't fix it ourselves. Had Aaron's come out to work on my garage door opener. I was given a 9-12 window, and Gerardo showed up at 10 till 9. The opener and the track just needed a minor adjustment, but the one on the other side needed to be replaced, and the spring needed some adjustment. He was there a total of about an hour. To quote a previous reviewer, "See all those five-star ratings?" Yeah, I'm not sure how they got there. They do appear to be old, which makes me think there may have been a change in ownership, management or business policies. But let me be clear, the representative I spoke with today did not represent the company in a positive light. I initially called to schedule an appointment for someone to come out and provide an estimate for a garage door opener installation. I provided my information and was told a technician would be in contact to setup an appointment. True to their word, I received a call shortly thereafter. I explained that I have a commercial garage door that needs an opener installed. The rep told me what I might need, but I suggested that he take a look at it so he can know for sure and I can get a true estimate. He said that to come out and look at it prior to installation would be considered a repair/service call and would cost me $69. Upon questioning him about this, he said nothing comes free & that other businesses who conduct free estimates will just "get you" elsewhere. Final feedback: Talking down to a customer and speaking badly about other businesses without any proof in order to make your poor policies appear validated is never a good look. read more

Charged me $200 to yank on the rails/ "bend them back", lubricate the rollers and tighten the cable. Google tells me that $200 should roughly be the price to completely replace the spring. The repairman told me that it's either the $200 fee to "repair" the existing door/frame or $750 to replace the whole door and spring etc. No in between. Does the garage door work? Yes, for now. Do I feel that is "good as new"? No. Was the repair guy on time? Yes Was the repair guy friendly? Yes. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!! We called in a broken spring on one of the doors and they sent someone out. They expect cash or check and we made the mistake of paying cash because they took the money and RAN! They replaced the spring ($250), but as the serviceman was driving off after only testing to see if the door opened but did NOT check to see if closed (which it didn't) we had to chase him down to check the issue. We then find out we need a new motor which he didn't bother to check on BEFORE he did the work soooooooooo needless to say we still have non-functioning garage door!!!!! I am beyond pissed! Several things went wrong when closing the garage door (spring broke, belt broke and lower hinge demolished when door slammed shut. Installed today. Spring on the old door broke and bent the door when we tried to open it. Called Aaron's and they sent out a tech that gave us estimates for repair and replacement with varying costs depending on the quality of the door we wanted. Went with his recommendation and bought one that wasn't top tier, but definitely a step or two up from the original "contractor" type door. Ordered it, it came in on Saturday (about 2 weeks) and installed today. First, to address another customer's complaint--yes, they do charge a $69 service fee when they come out. But, if you use their service, your cost of repair/replacement will be credited $69, so it's a wash if you use Aaron's. Plumbers charge you service fees, HVAC repair, electricians, why not garage repair? Seems silly to gripe about it. Anyway, the door is gorgeous. It's ultra quiet opening and closing and insulates for weather and sound very well. Install took about 2 hours and was done in a professional manner by Jesse Nava. Horrible customer service!! Jesse recently fixed an issue on a new house we were purchasing. The owner needed to have an issue with the door fixed and paid Aaron's to fix it. The issue was not resolved when we moved in. After contacting them, Jesse said the warranty is non transferable, and that I'd have to pay to have them go back out there. He didn't seem to care that the issue was not fixed and said I would be charged if they went back out. He then became argumentative and ended up hanging up on me. Stay away! My garage door started malfunctioning and when I talked to them on the phone, it became apparent that I could spend a lot of time fixing and re-fixing my old one, or get a new one with a warranty.
