Hired this "company" to do a move from Colorado Springs to Oregon. Seemed great during the first call. The quote was for a few hundred more than the U-haul I was going to get so we said yes and gave them a detailed list of our belongings. The next call, the price doubled and I said no. Then the scam began. The deposit is not refundable for any reason (including them not doing the job). They will try over and over again to try to get you to say you want to cancel, which lets them off the hook. We ended up having to call the police on the "driver" they hired. No company t-shirt, no business card...nothing. He wanted me to go to the bank and withdraw $1500 cash to pay him! Ridiculous scam company! Do not hire. I wish there was zero stars. The sales rep was so great on the phone and gave such a competitive quote that we decided to use this company vs a pod for my college age daughter's move across the country. Two days before the move we sent a detailed list of her items and they raised the price by $700 (this is for one bedroom and some kitchen items- zero large furniture or appliances). We agreed since there were about 8 more boxes in the list. Then the DAY of the move AFTER they loaded the truck completely (and were over 90 minutes late arriving) they said we owed even more money. When I asked how we could be charged another $600 he basically threatened to unload the truck and leave the stuff saying we could find a way to bring it ourselves if the new price didn't work. They didn't pack the boxes efficiently so the items took up more space than needed. So we went from $2100 to $3400 in two days for a VERY small amount of items. This company and their contractors are total scam artists and we are so disappointed. I am actually flying out to receive the items in early August now to deal with the final payment. This was an incredibly stressful situation that has taken a huge financial toll on our family. We are incredibly upset and will tell anyone who listens to us NEVER to use this company!! read more

The ABSOLUTE WORST experience with a company. My original sales man did his job well. He was quick moving through my furniture on original quote, didn't break down pieces of furniture like my bed having more than a frame and mattress (because most beds don't?), gave me an amazing quote, then warned me of other companies who tend to give low quotes and then up the price on you when you add more before moving day. EXACTLY what was done here. Read every one of these one star reviews, and it is exactly what happened to us. We apparently went from needing not much space at all (with most of our boxes, plastic crates, and large furniture figured into the quote) and when I went room to room 2 days before pick up, I needed triple the space and 5k more in cost. I did need to add some additional furniture, but it was a few small pieces, a bed and dresser, and some outdoor furniture. Nothing compared to what had been quoted. We said forget the extra cost, rented a u-haul and moved the extra furniture ourselves. Had we not lost our nearly $900 deposit, I would have said forget it from the get go. READ YOUR CONTRACT (if you can because the minute I signed mine the link to review it disappeared and never was able to get it emailed to my personal email for some reason)!! The pick up drivers showed up 3 hours late outside the 4 hour timeframe. I had to call twice to get an answer of when they would be there. My stuff was picked up, and put into storage for nearly 2 weeks without word or update on when our things would be delivered. (Just FYI, your need your furniture date is only the first day they can deliver and will NOT be guaranteed to be there in any sort of timely fashion. And guess what, you just have to deal with it because they have your things!) I called multiple times for a date of delivery and was told time after time it wasn't ready, they were working on it, call back in 2 days. Then the drop off drivers finally showed up, and I don't have my mattress for our one bed they were transporting. Who doesn't need their things timely? Basically i've been told it is what it is...no real help, nothing can be done. Absolute TERRIBLE customer service over the phone. Call from a manager, forget it! I've asked, no return call was ever given for any of my calls even to nail down a delivery date. This was a stressful move going nearly 800 miles away, and this company only ADDED to that stress. I also have several items that were damaged in the process. So, if you want headache, to be out of a ton of money unexpectedly, and want to add to your stress, then go ahead and hire these people. Don't fall into the trap I did with AB Moving Services. I hired them to move from Gilbert, AZ to Hendersonville, TN. The first call with Madison felt friendly and promising -- their quote came in a few hundred dollars under what a truck rental would have cost, so I signed on. But the details were vague, and when I asked questions, I was told not to worry -- someone would call me two days before pickup to go over everything. Two days before pickup. For a cross-country move??? My move changed -- I needed more space -- and every time I raised it, I got the same answer: it'll be handled on that pre-call. I had to fight just to get my dates updated before that window even arrived. When the pre-call finally came, the price had doubled. I said no. That's when the real scam kicked in. The deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances -- including when they don't do the job. And their playbook is transparent once you see it: they call you repeatedly, pushing you to say the word "cancel," because the moment you do, they're off the hook. For the love of God, don't use this company or you'll regret it! First off, they subcontract out the work, which is something you don't find out until they come to pick up your stuff. My initial quote was $4,000, then it was revised to $6,300, and after my belongings were on the trucks it became over $15,000. All my stuff wouldn't fit on one truck, which was their fault because they didn't stack it effectively, but I was told I wouldn't be charged for the whole second truck because we didn't use all the space and then they turn around and charge me for a whole second truck. They wouldn't release my stuff at the destination until I wired them the full balance of $12,753 and kept threatening to take it back to storage and charge me a $3,000 storage fee. So, even after I managed to get the money together and wire it to them the same day, they wouldn't put together all of the stuff they had taken apart. We also have broken and damaged things at drop off. I would never hire this company again and you shouldn't either unless you're just a glutton for punishment. read more

Multiple calls and emails were met with rudeness and a refusal to refund the deposit for services not rendered. I hired AB Moving to move furniture from Orlando to Santa Rosa. The SAME DAY I paid a deposit of $1005. Within a few hours I learned they were broker and not movers. I called to cancel. I was told to send the request in an email. Which I did on the SAME DAY. They didn't refund my deposit. I escalated to the bank and they lied to BoA that I did not contact them despite having a copy of the email with their address and date. They are liars and thieves. They don't tell you or explain they are brokers. Then they kept my deposit despite the request being made, in writing, well within the 5 business days. I hired AB Moving for an interstate move, and the experience was a nightmare. * They forced me to pay $500 for a "shuttle fee" that was not in my contract. The truck (a standard 26-ft box truck) could easily park in my neighborhood. They later claimed the fee was for "Los Angeles to Santa Clara transfer," which is just their internal logistics -- not something a customer should be charged for. I had no choice but to pay under protest before they would release my belongings. * The service was supposed to be door-to-door, including unloading, furniture placement, and reassembly. Instead, they just dropped everything off and refused to finish the job. * The driver showed up without enough crew and even hired a random day laborer from a Home Depot parking lot, paying him cash to help unload. This was unsafe and unprofessional, leaving me exposed to liability if that person got injured on my property. * They failed to provide or have me sign a Bill of Lading, which is required by law. Delivery was also delayed several days. * On top of everything, some of my furniture was damaged. This company engaged in misleading practices, unauthorized charges, and unsafe operations. We had a terrible experience moving from Louisiana to Wisconsin in February. AB Moving Services hired Best Move Vanline to move our possessions. They arrived mid-afternoon with two 26 foot Penske trucks. At 8 PM they realized they needed a third truck. They finished loading at 11:30 PM and demanded full payment in cash and said they do not accept credit cards. We gave them a check and they left. The estimate from AB was $5,948 and Best Move charged $24,572 for a total of $30,520. In my opinion this was extortion. I expected to pay $10K because we have a lot of items, but NOT $30K. We moved to Louisiana in 2020 and the total then was approx. $7K. My check cleared the following day but Best Move refused to deliver for 7 days following. Many of our items were damaged and a table was missing. We filed a claim for this weeks ago and no response. We also filed complaints with several agencies, state and federal also with no response. read more

NEVER AGAIN! DO NOT USE!! The Customer Service people were polite until you paid the deposit. After that, they were intolerant, rude, interrupted you while you spoke, or put you on hold indefinitely. We were told we went over our reserved space, and had to pay more BEFORE our belongings were loaded. We had no mattresses, no couch, no dining set. Only 2 small black shelves, an entertainment stand, hope chest, and a dresser. The rest of our load was boxes and bins. The movers charged a $200 packing fee, which was not previously disclosed. They left our home without providing an inventory list. The movers had inflated our price by 300cu.ft.. We felt as if our belongings were being held ransom. The unprofessional and angry manner in which moving men communicated, made us feel as if this was our "only option if we want our stuff moved". If we attempted to take pictures or videos, the driver became confrontational and uncomfortably aggressive. We feared retaliation towards our belongings if we didn't "go along with his claims" regarding cubic feet and pay him. When our items and furnishings arrived at our new home, many of the boxes and bins were crushed or crumpled in some way. Some boxes were torn partially open. One shelf was completely destroyed and my dresser was broken and received cosmetic damage. The movers had no markers to differentiate between our items and someone else's; at one point they moved a box and an air purifier into our home that wasn't ours, and were asked to remove them. read more
