    Hummus

First time at Aba tonight with my wife and two daughters. Here are some thoughts: -We all like Mediterranean food, and we were very impressed with Aba! -We ordered hummus and whipped feta for our appetizer. The hummus was the only thing on the table I didn't try. Whipped feta was amazing! -Side note: the house bread was worth the price of admission... absolutely delish! -My wife and I shared chicken kabobs and the house made stracciatella. My daughters shared chicken kabobs and brussel sprouts. -First, the kabobs were very good, highlight was the pesto sauce--Out. Of. This. World. -Second, the stracciatella was good, unusual dish for me, but delightful. -We all agreed that the brussel sprouts were the star of the show, rich flavor, a meal all by itself! This is a must try when you're in Austin. Highly recommended!!

I went for a bachelorette so we had a pre selected menu, but honestly I wouldn't have orders any differently. For apps we had the whipped feta, hummus and charred eggplant. Then we the Greek village Salad and brussel sprouts. Then dinner was grilled chicken and Moroccan spiced short rib. Everything was delicious. I couldn't stop eating lol. To drink I got the passiflora and it was good!! I wish I had one of these in Pittsburgh. It was so good!!

Can i give this six stars?! Aba is incredible! The atmosphere alone is worth the visit. The lush plants, ambient lighting, beautiful patio seating, and garage doors that open between the bar and patio create a space that feels both vibrant and relaxing. It feels like a perfect place to hang out and stay a while. And then there's the food. The whipped feta appetizer was incredible, and they thoughtfully accommodated my gluten-free request with lavosh-style crackers. The pistachio-crusted halibut was one of the best meals I've ever eaten- perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. And the date cake for dessert was the perfect ending: rich, balanced, and just the right amount of sweet. The service was friendly, attentive, and outstanding from start to finish. My colleague and I were in Austin for work and couldn't find a same-day reservation, but we were able to grab seats at the bar without any trouble. It ended up being the perfect experience. We took an after dinner stroll up to the bridge to see the bats at dusk. It was a perfect Austin evening!

The food is delicious! There wasnt a single menu item I did night enjoy. Everything tasted great. The garlic hummus is a must and so it the Kachupuri. Portion size can be better but quality is great. Friendly staff. The atmosphere amazing. It was in the middle of a very hot day and even with outdoor seating they have large fans that produce a very comfortable and pleasant breeze that make sitting outside perfect. Very well decorated as well.

This Branzino dish is a must.

Had reserved this restaurant a month before visiting Austin. Had chosen this spot after some research for hip, high end restaurants with great food and ambiance. This restaurant was everything I could of asked for. I'm from Los Angeles, and have been to many high end and hip restaurants, this was definitely up there with some of the best restaurants. Food: The lamb chops and Branzino were absolutely delicious, my aloe cocktail was just ok but the old fashion was probably the best I have had. Highly recommend it. The staff was also super nice and very hard working as they tried to te arrange umbrellas for possible rain. Beautiful decor and ambiance.

I booked this spot roughly 1 month in advanced, and I was only able to snag a 7:15pm reservation (even as a solo diner). Music Lane is a beautiful area with corridors bustling with fresh air, which greatly contrasts the area not too far south of it. Aba lies within these corridors, so I was completely gobsmacked to see the size of the establishment and its number of seating. There are outdoor tables, a dedicated bar section, a decently large interior, and patio and sofa seats for the people waiting. Even then, the place was completely packed, so getting a reservation is an absolute must. Not only are the prices completely reasonable, the food itself had everything that I was looking for: a delicious spread starter, a balanced fiber dish, and an entree with intentional flavors and texture. The Short Rib Hummus is a must get! It is incredibly filling and completely worth the price. The short rib was a nice meat protein since I opted for a seafood main, and the pita bread that it came with was lightly seasoned and was as fluffy as it could possibly be. I could not eat much of my Brussel Sprouts because it was also very large. However it was not too oily or drenched, and each bite had a perfect light crunch, which is the standard for Fried Brussels Sprouts. Top it all off, the Grilled Branzino was the finisher to my savory dishes. The grill gave the fish a roasted flavor, which was complimented by the sweetness from the corn purée. The various greens, roasted tomatoes, and corn pieces themselves added bites of textures and secondary bursts of flavor. I can see why it took a month in advanced to book a decent time at Aba Austin. The atmosphere was so perfect because the air flows through all the doors and windows, allowing the diners to enjoy fresh oxygen. This place is a must visit, both as an experience and a meal that is WORTH the bill.

We recently visited Aba on a Sunday evening for dinner, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience overall. I absolutely love the vibe of this place--it's definitely a high-end Mediterranean restaurant, perfect for special occasions. What really stood out was how beautifully everyone was dressed; it added to the upscale, elegant atmosphere of the entire space. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and a beautiful outdoor seating area, which really elevates the overall experience. The outdoor space, in particular, adds to the charm and makes it a great spot for a relaxed yet upscale evening. Since reservations weren't available, we decided to arrive early, expecting a long wait. Luckily, being a Sunday evening, it wasn't too crowded, and we were seated within about 20 minutes. For drinks, I ordered a Tender Robot Hazy IPA, while my husband went with the Verdant Mai Tai. I was a bit disappointed to learn they only serve canned beer and don't offer draft options, as I personally prefer draft beer and am not a big fan of cocktails, which tend to be too sweet for my taste. For the main course, I had the Heirloom Chicken Thighs, and my husband ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. Both dishes were cooked to perfection--flavorful, well-seasoned, and the meat was incredibly tender. That said, the portion sizes felt a bit small considering the price point. We ended the meal with the Sticky Date Cake, and it was hands down the best I've ever had--rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a great experience. Between the beautiful ambiance, flavorful food, and exceptional service, it's a place I'd definitely return to. I'm giving it 4 stars mainly because of the lack of draft beer and the smaller portion sizes for the price, but it's still a fantastic spot worth visiting.

Aba - yes!! We so lucked out in finding this place and getting a reservation! The ambience is adorable! Super vibey, modern, and beautiful indoors and outdoors. The service was awesome. Staff was super friendly, server explained everything well, didn't rush us, and was very helpful! The food is amazing here. We loved our kebabs and appetizers. Wine and drinks are good here. It's definitely pricey, but if you come in knowing that... then it's a fabulous experience. They change the menu seasonally to keep things fresh. When in town, we would def come back!

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the city, Aba transported us to a different world from everything to the ambience, the lighting, the service, the workers and the food! Once we were dropped off we went down this walkway and noticed a bar area to the right. I thought that was a separate bar area but turned out to be a section of the restaurant. I looked to my left and there was a path with people sitting down the path. Basically this place was huge and turns out there are three separate bar areas you can find seating in and there are two to three huge main dinning areas inside & out. The whole vibe is like a jungle/forest vibe and the low lighting was perfect. The ONLY thing that could have made it perfect was a better selection of music. I would have never left. We ended up finding two seats at one of the bars in the patio area and our waitress was amazing! She gave us advice on a few items and even gave us one of her favorite desserts on the house. We decided to start out with the brisket hummus (amazing!), the jumbo crab cakes ( so good), and the grilled salmon (cooked to perfection). I also got a Mediterranean Mule and had her add passion fruit. Lastly, we had a date cake that was out of this world! I couldn't even explain it but it did have some sort of crème brûlée taste to it and I LOVE crème brûlée. Our waitress made the experience that much better, conversing with us and just having a good time. I wish I remembered her name to give her a huge shout out but she does work in the bar area. As mentioned, the dessert she let us try was the frozen yogurt drizzled with honey (it was the least favorite out of everything). Overall, I highly recommend checking out Aba and it's one of my top restaurants on the list. You will not be disappointed! I would recommend sitting in the patio area with the forest them. Truly an awesome experience. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

So excited to get yo work in Austin again as it means to get to eat in Aba which is just always exceptional! Enjoyed a mini reunion on the delightful back patio on this pretty spring day, shaded by a huge tree, it's a pretty spot in this city Service was exceptional thoughout ! We had to wait on a guest and they were patient with us as we enjoyed their always great classic hummus and delicious warm pita which they happily top up! Enjoyed some refreshing cocktails and I tried 2 of their dishes which I loved! The tuna tartare which was fresh with the right amount of heat and the cucumber dish which also lacked some heat and made me inspired to eat more cucumbers if I can replicate this dish! Cannot wait to be back - this is an Austin must try!!

This restaurant is absolutely worth the hype and a must-try if you're looking for a fantastic culinary experience. We made a reservation day-of (which honestly worked out perfectly, but in the future I'd try to have more forethought because it was a rather late lunch). Restaurant was absolutely gorgeous and we were immediately seated upon arrival. Our waitress was sweet and friendly. Our toddler had a moment when he started wandering around chasing birds and the staff was kind and non-judgmental. Star of the show was hands down the food. We ordered the whipped feta (3/5), the short rib hummus (5/5), the chicken thighs (5/5), and the pork belly (5/5). Everything was delicious, but the whipped feta, while good, was not as otherworldly and unique as everything else. Next time I'd hope to try the stracciatella instead.

Came here because this place was recommended by a friend!!! honestly, such an elegant, beautiful vibe!!! it's very much giving me Joey restaurant ! Service was great, although we had hiccups at the beginning because of the seating. Food was amazing. I would definitely come back for the food.!!!

Love it! I've been a few times.. even on my birthday! And they offerred a free frozen treat with a dandle :) The spot is so beautiful and immersive on South Congress, tucked into a walkway between buildings. There's greenery everywhere, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the covered patio gives it a slightly European feel. The lighting is soft and diffused, which makes the whole space feel a bit transportive. The menu pulls from a mix of Mediterranean influences like Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, and Greece, so there's a lot of flavor going on. The hummus is a standout. Super creamy, really well seasoned, and honestly one of those dishes you keep going back to. It's a great place to share a few things and try different flavors.

They're easily some of the best pancakes I've had in Austin, and I'd come back just for those. The space is beautiful and the service is on point, but brunch here feels seriously underrated. Carrots were undercooked and soggy at the same time. Tuna tartare was solid but the plantain chips were so thin they broke when you tried to use them as a chip. I was a little apprehensive for a couple of reasons: 1-I don't eat seafood. 2-I'm often leery of corporate/chain-style places. *Yes, I go to them but often times not good experiences. Let me tell you something, my concerns vanished almost as soon as we walked in. My cousin made reservations and we were sat immediately. They were pretty busy however, we had such a lovely time that we shut the place down. We were there for almost four hours! It's easy to get lost in conversation with a good glass of wine (or a bottle + several glasses after that lol), good company, food, and a place with great ambiance. The ambiance was spot on. The decor and lighting are exquisite. I can see why so many people choose Truluck's for a special occasion or date night. It's upscale & magical. Truly a premium dinner destination. Service was incredible. Talk about premium...we were treated like royalty. Curtis went above and beyond for us. Such a nice & sweet guy. Even at the end of the evening when we shut the place down, the manager took pics of us on our behalf and chatted with us as well. He didn't make us feel rushed or that we weren't wanted there any longer. Food: We had sides for the table that included asparagus, truffle fries, Lyonnaise potatoes, and Parker House-style rolls. All delicious. I had the tomato salad (minus dressing) with black pepper & it was perfect as a summer main. It paired wonderfully with the asparagus & bread. My cousin had the filet mignon cooked at medium. I had a couple of bites and that was one delicious steak. Her daughter had the Ora King Salmon and she absolutely loved it. She said it was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My boyfriend and my cousin's sister-in-law had the lobster bisque and they were in heaven. They couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Must have been because it had a strong lobster smell (remember, I don't do seafood). My boyfriend loves a good wedge salad so he had one with his soup. He was definitely jiving on its goodness. The sister-in-law had the jumbo lump crab cake and raved about the texture and flavor. As I mentioned earlier, the wine was flowing. However, I opted for still water with orange & lemon slices. We all had still with either citrus or cucumber slices. My boyfriend and I kind of shared a mini-Manhattan. By kind of I mean I had three sips. That was a proper Manhattan. Cheers to the incredible mixologists on staff. We rounded the evening out with two desserts for the table, Baked Alaska (see vids) & Key Lime Pie. Holy sugar were they good! I was pleasantly surprised by this experience and look forward to going back again. It's nice to be able to spend time with family in such a luxurious setting. Impeccable all around.

The bar definitely had plenty of TVs, so if you're sports person. You could easily catch a game while here. One of the Table tents, notified guest of a happy hour for oysters, which I'm not an oyster fan, but hey to each their own. Had to try out the clam chowder and it was one of the best clam chowder I've had quite some time. You could easily taste the clams at a really nice consistency not too thin, not too thick and I didn't even have to add any salt to it. It was just really tasty. When the clam trotter was delivered, I happened to look at what other plates were on the serving tray ready to go out in one of them happen to be this phenomenal salmon dish. I asked the gentleman what it was and he said it was his favorite dish on the menu, so of course had to try it the salmon dish absolutely out of this world the glaze on it side. It came with it. Everything just fit really well together and y'all that plate was clean by the time it went back. This place is definitely on my shortlist as I really would like to try some of their other plates again that salmon and the clam chowder really made an impression and highly rate this place if you're looking for a good seafood place in Austin. The vibe of the restaurant was laid-back, but also very open, clean setting clean lines plenty of light and they even had really clean restrooms. The staff also was very pleasant and friendly with every one I interacted with.

May be my favorite burger in Austin. It's delicious! Fries - 10/10. Perfectly thin and crispy. Get the caviar ranch! Fried Green Tomatoes - 10/10. We ordered these expecting just a normal appetizer but they were so much better than that! We returned with my parents who agreed they were phenomenal. Tuna Tartar - 9/10. Super flavorful and the wontons provide a good crunch. Mozzarella Sticks - I give them a 8/10 but my husband gives them a 10/10. Lobster roll - this was just fine to us and not worth $40 in our opinion, but we're also not huge lobster people. Cocktails - 7/10. I liked their central market martini a lot on another visit, but this recent time I got a regular dirty martini and it came out with so much ice. After some waiting I got it strained and it was much better. Ambiance is great too! Comfy place, and I love the paper on the tables.

Went inside to check in and was seated on the patio without a reservation. They had a beer and a shot offer for $8 so I had a mezcal shot and added an oyster to it. Also had $10 martinis and I ordered a cocktail to enjoy as well. We ordered 18 of the $3 oysters and they were were fresh, clean, and well-shucked, exactly what you want when you're there for a classic oyster experience. The happy hour pricing made it even better, so it felt like a great value for the quality. Discovered they had $2 oysters from the gulf so we ordered 6 more of those. These were larger in size than the others and a bit more filling. The oysters were served with horseradish, cocktail and mignonette sauce for a fresh and flavorful bite. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out quickly. It's a great spot whether you're meeting friends or just stopping in for a casual bite and a drink. Definitely a great place to try oysters happy hour, would love to return and try items from their regular menu.

All of the employees were warm and welcoming and we never felt like a burden. They were kind enough to give us a note signed by all the staff for our anniversary! Our server also gave us complementary champagne as well as a dessert. The restaurant itself is also very cozy. The kitchen is cool as the concept is an open flame cooking. Now the food was simply amazing. The halibut was melt in your mouth and I still am thinking about how good it was. The scallop was probably the best I've ever had, and I love scallops. I had one of their cocktails and it was also outstanding, and the ice cube even had an H on it! For the quality of food I felt the prices were very reasonable on the à la carte menu. We ordered: scallops, texas Wagyu bavette and halibut. The server recommended the bread so we ordered that too. When we received the bread, it was in a small basket and freshly out of the " oven ", which they seemed to be proud of serving very fresh bread. The bread was approximately 1/6 of the length of a regular baguette for $6 and a bit of unsalted butter. We split the bread in half and after eating a piece, immediately, it tasted gummy and very sour the inside part of the bread. I double checked if the sourness came from the butter, but the butter was fine. The sourness came from the center of the bread. I informed the server that the center was sour/gummy and felt undercooked. They took my piece and returned it to the kitchen and gave us a new piece of bread. But that bread had the same issue. Gummy and sour in the center. I had to peel away that part and just eat the outer parts. For the scallops, unfortunately the sauce did not meet expectations. You could tell the scallops were of high quality, but the sauce was too salty and too acid. What a disappointment. The entrées were fine. The halibut was good, maybe a bit dry, but the sauce saved it. The Wagyu bavette was initially a tad too salty, but then as I kept eating it tasted fine. But I realized I just slowly got used to the saltiness of the meal. This meal ended up being way too salty because I had to drink a huge amount of water and felt dehydrated after this meal (I didn't consume any alcohol!) I did give the feedback about the bread and scallops to the server, he stated that he will share it to the chef. Hopefully they can improve. They did comp the bread which was a nice gesture. I did look online what could cause the gumminess and sourness of the bread (as I was curious if I was the abnormal one) and here is what they say: " A gummy center combined with a very sour taste is the classic signature of an under-fermented loaf (often called "under-proofed").When dough does not spend enough time in the warm bulk fermentation phase, the yeast fails to create a strong, airy structure, leaving the center dense and wet. Concurrently, the bacteria keep producing acid without the yeast balancing it out, resulting in a highly sour, flat flavor. " Solutions to fix this is : " Extend Bulk Fermentation: Let your dough rise longer at room temperature until it increases in volume by 30% to 50% and feels full of air.Watch the Temperature: If your kitchen is cool (under 70°F / 21°C), move the dough to a warmer spot like an off oven with the light turned on.Cool Completely: Always wait at least 2 to 4 hours before slicing into a fresh loaf so the interior starches can finish setting as the steam escapes. " They should have definitely not served us the bread pipping hot and they should have allowed the bread to rise longer. Perhaps take out the bread of your menu if you don't have the time to let your bread rise longer or cool.....

Our sever, forgive me I forgot her name it started with a G and she had an accent, was the epitome of what all servers should strive to be. She was attentive, helpful, friendly, professional, all of the above JUST AMAZING! We dined before a concert and let her know we were in a slight rush and she made sure everything came out coursed but not rushed. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS! The oysters and mignonette, steak sliders, truffle mac but omg that halibut stole the show! Mega hats off to the BOH staff, they killed it in every way. Also, if we were sharing and item the kitchen split and plated it for each us, HOW AMAZING! We couldn't decide between dessert since we were so full and short on time we picked the slightly quicker and smaller option; yet still our AMAZING server, G we'll call her, brought us a MINI bananas foster because she knew how much we wanted to try it but were scared of the portion size. I mean can you EVEN???? we felt SO taken care of by her and all other staff around us. everyone was moving with such grace and precision. I literally could not recommend this place enough!!! Even the free bread and butter is amazing sourdough with something added to the butter (maybe cinnamon, I'm not sure). We always just go casual and sit at the bar which is dark and moody but with friendly staff at the place that is typically a fancier dining experience.
