If you find yourself in Klamath, CA for any reason, make sure you bring your own food or eat before you get there. As far as I can tell, there is only a very uninviting place across the street from the casino or the very nice (in appearance) Abalone Bar and Grill in the casino. We were traveling through and needed to stop for the night -- Mon July 17, 2017. We were starving, so after checking in (nice and clean Holiday Inn) we went down to the restaurant. After finally getting the attention of the very unpleasant hostess we were told there would be a thirty minute wait. They were kind enough to call us down from our room after the wait. When we got there there were several open tables. We were seated by the back door which was constantly being opened to the unseasonably cold wind. We asked the hostess to be moved. She said "no. I had to ask why not and her answer was that the open tables and booths would be used by guests in line to be seated. No kidding! That was the answer. We had nothing but menus at the time and no waitress. It was crazy. I think the hostess hates what she is doing and is no fan of people. We waited ten minutes (easily) for a waitress. We were so cold by then we asked to order to go. The waitress was very nice and said the kitchen was way behind anyway. She called us down to pick up the food 45 minutes later. I ordered a burger and fries ($12 or more) and it was truly nasty. Hard as a rock and made with a frozen pressed patty you buy in a big box at the super mart. Everything was way overpriced. The food my spouse got was not much better. Avoid this place. Eat before you get there and wait until the free breakfast at the hotel. The people at the hotel were pleasant and the breakfast was great. read more

We hosted our son and daughter in-laws rehearsal dinner, from start to finish Jessica was wonderful and helpful to work with. I did everything long distance and when I arrived that Friday night the table was all ready on the back patio and looked beautiful including fresh flowers on the tables! We had a cute bar area with wine barrels and she made a beautiful brownie tower for dessert. Everyone had great things to say about the food and it all came out together for a very large group. The food here leaves a bit to be desired. It definitely was not worth the high prices. Not what I expected for a restaurant like this. The first meal we had here was Friday night Dinner of Fish and Chips. The fish was crispy but really greasy and the fries were bland and tasteless. We did get a lot of food though. The following night, I thought i'd play it safe and order a salad so I got a grilled chicken ceaser and it was not good. The chicken was extremely dry, the romaine was soggy and the dressing was super bitter. I would not recommend this place and will never eat here again even when I stay at the hotel. read more

The food is very good. Would have given five stars except they were closed on Christmas Eve and only open from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Christmas day. Since we were staying at the hotel, we also wanted to eat there too and having to leave town on Christmas Eve to eat dinner, was very inconvenient. read more

Met promptly and sat quickly by a nice hostess. Water came quickly and orders taken within minutes. Vodka Collins was wrong but tasted good. The clam chowder is very good as stated in a previous review. And the pork shank was Done well. The vegetables had a little more spice than I prefer. Those vegetables ended up sticking with me all night. Staying in the Holiday Inn that is attached but think I will drive to a better place for the rest of our stay. read more

We had a party of 7 and were greeted and seated quickly. Our server was pleasant and got our drink order promptly and dinner order was correct! Everyone in our party had something different and all of us thought the food was very good! Thank goodness they were open as there aren't many options in the area. read more

We had a party of 13 and it was Easter Sunday. Service was great and the food was amazing. I had the salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sauce used on my sandwich was so good I asked for a little to dip my fries in. When we got our check, even though there were as many of as there was, they still didnt include the tip in our bill unlike most other restaurants do. Spending One Night in Klamath, as we tour around Northern California. We were pleasantly surprised at the bison burger. It was tasty. I had a pomegranate Cosmo, and my partner had a Moscow Mule. The pomegranate Cosmo was good. But the Moscow Mule was not made with ginger beer; it seened like ginger ale. All in all, a better experience than we expected, given the reviews. I am also not sure why this place doesn't have five stars! The food was great. Our party ordered an angus burger, salmon club, and shrimp/fish basket. We were all happy with our food, as well as the service. The bonus was its attached to a small casino and we enjoyed a couple hours of play. read more

If there had been a "no star" rating, that would be my choice. The restaurant service was AWFUL. It took forever to even be acknowledged that people were waiting to be seated. And, then ordering even longer. Maybe they were short staffed, but then tell people there will be a wait and why. At long last, after a mediocre dinner, our bill arrived. We had been overcharged. We waited about 15 minutes and kept trying to catch our waitress' eye; finally I wrote her a note explaining why I was leaving the amount I did, and we left. We had made a last minute decision to stay in Klamath for the night, and once you are there this restaurant is one of the only dinner choices. My recommendation would be to pass Klamath completely and stay in a different town. read more

Went there for lunch server was very nice. But it took over 45 minutes to get are food and it was cold when we got it. So disappointed! !! You need to get some cooks that know how to cook more then one meal at a time I didn't want to give any stars but wouldn't let me post without it read more

Only reason I gave one star is that you cannot leave no stars! I want to start with the service, HORRIBLE! We were seated and waited 5 minutes before we ever had anyone visit our table. We ordered drinks and the kids sodas came right away, but the bar drinks took a LOT longer. Bar drinks were obviously made by an amateur and were stingy on their portions. After our meal arrived, we again were never visited by our waitress, my wife even had to bus our own table to remove the appetizer plates that they did not bother to pick up. We had to ask another employee to ask our waitress for the check. The meal was well over an hour and we could not get out fast enough. Now for the food, worse than the service! We ordered sweet plata toe fries and calamari, the fries wer excellent, but everything went downhill fast from there. The calamari was breaded with chicken finger batter and was way over cooked; you could smell how heavy the oil was and they had the constancy of rubber. I headed to the salad bar and chose ranch dressing, the dressing was not fresh and was a poor quality store bought dressing. While we were waiting for the entre my wife noticed that every other table had bread, except ours. Once the food came, the disappointment continued. My boys each ordered a hamburger cooked medium, they came out well done with the outside charged, neither one enjoyed their burger. My wife ordered a salad which was good, but had the same crappy ranch they had at the salad bar. I ordered the King Salmon which they claimed was caught locally an is fresh. Now when I think of King Salmon, I thing of a 1-1/2 inch thick fresh piece of fish, but not here. The fish was 3/4 inch thick at the middle only and thinned out at the edges, and it came overcooked; it was so dry I had to take a drink of water with almost every bite. This is by far the worst salmon I have ever had and at $26 I thought they would have been more generous; but good thing it was small, it would have just been more of overcooked fish. Stay with the sweet patties fries and you will be fine. Now for the good part. My wife called the manager the next day to complain. The manager, Tasha, was not going to take any blame. She never apologized but went on to ask us queations as if we were full of BS just trying to get a free meal. She asked, did you tell this to the waitress; how could we when she never came to check on us. Also, what table were you at, what was your waitresses name, what time was it, and on and on. After we said our peace, she said she would get with her GM and what the surveillance video, basically to see if we are full of BS. Who does that? The total lack of professional patronage blows me away! Thankfully this was just a pass through meal an we will not be back this way for a long time, but if we are back this way, we will stay far away from this place. read more

If you stay at the Holiday Inn Express this restaurant is connected to the hotel. What could be more perfect, right? That's what we thought and were we wrong. The service was so slow and the food was not good at all. The best part was the salad that came with the meal. I had the beef tips and mashed potatoes. The meat was tough and the mashed potato was a smashed baked potato (a side dish). The broccoli that came with it was sitting in the pool of au jus and was so over cooked it was pale. My husband had the fresh local salmon and it was good, but small and the rice looked like Rice-a-roni. We had the blackberry cobbler and the cobbler was not cooked all the way through so there was a blob of raw dough in the center. Dinner with one glass of beer was not a deal. read more

Went in on a Sunday evening in summer for dinner....waited a long time for waitress to come and take our drink order and was told that they were out of house cabaret...no substituted other!!! Passed on the wine and ordered a drink instead. Then we both ordered the Prime rib on the menu and was told they have it only on Friday and Saturday nights!!! Try printing that on the menu!!!! This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. The waitstaff was somewhat friendly and the four of us ordered our dishes. Two of us had salad bar where only lettuce onions carrots and tomatoes were offered. We watched a waitress make a salad then take the onions off the salad with her hands and throw them back into the container. Hmm. I had the salmon entree which was very overdone. The broccoli was so overdone it was an ugly yellow green. The smoked salmon salad would have been ok if someone hasn't dumped the entire bottle of black pepper in the dressing. The two others in our party had steak and the beef medallions. The meat was good but the gravy for the potatoes tastes like it came from a can. For the price this was not worth it. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. This place was horrible the waitress only came once to get the order, she never even refilled drinks. We waited 35 minutes for food- kids got grilled cheese pretty hard to mess up you would think but they managed to make it disgusting the cheese was not melted and the bread was soggy. Stayed at Holiday inn Express and consierge recommended eating here. Get 10% off with room key. It was Chinese buffet night for $14.99. we went and "buffet" consisted of 4 foods: chicken fried rice, lo mein noodles, beef and broccoli, and mystery chicken. Food was not very warm and dry. My two friends had eaten their ENTIRE meal before the waitress ever came to get our drink order or let me place my order. PS, there were 4 waitresses and only 10-15 people in the whole restaurant. I ordered the turkey melt. It was mediocre at best. Then halfway through the sandwich I found a long black hair IN MY SANDWICH! Disgusting! So of course I did not finish my meal. Meanwhile no one came to refill our drinks or see how the food was. When we were ready for check, which took them 30 mins to realize they didn't even ask if we wanted separate tabs. I told them about hair in my food and they did not make me pay for it but barely even apologized or tried to make it better. No manager came out. No offer for replacement or concessions made. Just we won't charge you for it. I WOULD HOLE NOT! Would not recommend AT ALL! Go eat at the gas station. You'll get better food and service there. read more

We ate here tonight May 25th. The food was excellent. We shared the coconut shrimp appetizer and the pasta dish with a lot of seafood in it(don't remember the name). Also had a cup of great clam chowder and dinner salad. Service was great. Would definitely dine here again. read more
